I think my most compact and simplified view on all this is that tech ventures spent about a decade between 2011-2021 willfully bleeding money in order to assert themselves as Good Guy:tm: science visionaries who wanted to revolutionize day-to-day life with technology. They were rolling out reliable, easy, order-from-your-phone Uber rides that were cheaper than scammy taxis. They gave you Twitter as a public square where everyone could be heard, not just the elite. They gave you Netflix over clunky, corrupt cable packages. Google had the "don't be evil" motto (which is a hilarious thing to do away with, like, well we're evil now sorry :( )
Then for the last 5 years (huge interest rate hikes, tech stock drop-off scare in 2022, US regime change in 2025, blah blah blah) they snapped the trap and decided to activate the money machine, which is rampant enshittification and bleeding everyone dry with higher baseline costs and forced subscription costs and forcibly app-ifying every single thing (needs a login needs a credit card needs an id nees a ) and backing pretty far away from the "your good relatable buddy" tech CEO image. Like it's been the world's most blatant and annoying pig-butchering scheme.
But, they're also rolling out AI like we're still in that 2011-2021 era of "we're your buddies revolutionizing your life with wow-worthy technology." They're shoving AI under our noses going "remember when you LOVED new technology? you love this, right? you love this? you want this? you want this?" and they're not getting why so many people are bristling and do not trust a single word out of their mouths.
“There has never been a successful anarchist revolution” is the most interesting argument that statecoms use because it demonstrates that they view holding a militaristic police state for decades while never actually getting around to anything that resembles establishing communism as “success” while they view living in real communism and real freedom for even just a year or two as “failure”

Referring to someone as your “partner” sounds as if you are deliberately obscuring their gender and may subtly out you. “My ex”, however, is entirely unobtrusively gender-neutral. #breakupallrelationships
Rubio report on Cuban subversion names Zohran Mamdani, Amy Goodman, Hasan Piker + orgs like DSA and Amazon Labor Union
“Many of the most significant upheavals in recent American political history — from the George Floyd riots to the rise of Antifa to the explosion of pro-terrorist activism on American college campuses — can be linked, in some way, shape, or form, to Cuban influence,” the report says.
As for who these supposed agents of Cuban influence are, the report is remarkably explicit. It names people like Ben Cohen (of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream fame), Mayors Zohran Mamdani and Karen Bass, media figures like Amy Goodman and Hasan Piker, and organizations like the Democratic Socialists of America and the Amazon Labor Union.
The implication is clear: Secretary of State Marco Rubio thinks there should be a modern-day blacklist of the political left in America. In fact, the report explicitly mentions the “blacklists, McCarthy-era investigations and prosecutions” of the 1950s and their effectiveness at dismembering the Communist Party USA.
The 100-page report, titled “Cuba: The Capital of 21st Century Communism,” was released this morning.
If my father passes away, please remember that I begged you for a small donation or to share his post. I will not forgive anyone who sees this post and doesn't support it with a single word or a small donation, and simply ignores it.
I write this letter trembling with fear for my father. He has been suffering excruciating pain from cancer, and I cannot afford all the medications he needs due to their high cost. All I wish is for him to stop suffering every day, so I implore you to stand by him and help him purchase his medications as soon as possible.
Please donate.
Worse still, his health has deteriorated sharply, and he has great difficulty moving. The pain and weakness have rendered him unable to lead a normal life. He urgently needs medical attention and ongoing treatment to improve his condition, but the cost of treatment is prohibitively expensive for us. Currently, he cannot sleep comfortably due to the constant pain, and he cannot afford the medications and painkillers that might alleviate his suffering because of their high prices.
He needs your help to alleviate his pain and save him as quickly as possible. Please, he doesn't want to die. Help us raise the necessary funds for his treatment and surgery as soon as possible Stand by him. Please donate.
Please help Nader!!
Feeling physical exhaustion as a psychosomatic reaction to things that feel daunting or intimidating is such a ridiculously counterproductive thing to do. Like there's a situation that requires you to be alert and mentally present and paying attention, and your brain just goes "hey I don't wanna. I don't wanna be here. How about going unconscious instead. No fuck you we're warping out. Night night."
Like most annoying human things it's really just a healthy mechanism that's been pushed too far.
I'm pretty sure it stems from "This is going to take work so I should rest and maybe eat something first"
But when you are exhausted all the time, and/or don't have enough time, etc... It gets pushed too far and you get caught in the loop of "I just need MORE rest and maybe food first" infinitely, every time you look at it, because of disability and capitalism and then self re-enforcing habits and so on.
The best advice I can give is to learn to consciously gauge what your actual limits are and how much rest or recovery you actually need before starting, and to maybe break daunting things down into smaller tasks and rest in between.
This doesn't really help for things that have come up that you can't really put off, except maybe to help inform you that you are in fact maybe being over extended.
The fact that most of us live most of our adult lives in a state of constantly being over-extended and accepting that as normal is kind of a problem.
If you are encountering the problem a lot, it might mean you need to take on less, or get something diagnosed, or sleep or eat more.
How do I proceed if The Daunting Task that the brain is trying to avoid is trying to understand why a normal situation is stressful? Like okay time for a 100% normal function the average adult has no problem with, and the brain just goes "no fuck u we will not."
what ralsei does with her hands is so important to me
call it a pattern more than a hard rule - but often, whatever's desperate enough to be expressed finds its way into the hands. thought, coalescing into action. affection, pooling into touch. fear, stalling into hesitation.
which may well be why i'm so fascinated by the way ralsei stows hers at the back
kept like that, they're removed from the situation - too far back to reach or interfere, merely ever cinching around what was antecedently given
ralsei is the ultimate embodiment of hands tied.
the prophecy's "prince" from the dark, meant only to assist and interpret, never to do. then comes chapter 5, and - SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT! -
i'm really enjoying the way that this makes it sound like it's his fault. like it's blaming him
not a huge fan of human supremacy if I'm to be honest. the world is not here to serve us. if you ask me we are here to serve the world but I know that is a bridge too far for the average person. at least live in some semblance of harmony with it
Everything Carol "Pluribus" Sturka does is reasonable if you remember for even one second that her wife died in the joining. More than reasonable, even! If my wife died and a member of the hivemind showed up at my gate while I was digging her grave I would've caved her head in with the shovel before she got a word out. Anything more than that is icing.
Why are american liberals so obsessed with protraying the trumo admin as incompetent? There are literal fascists taking over your country. They are succeeding.
