Happy Hina holidays!  🎄  Have a cozy one with this Swiss roll inspired by Hina Kagiyama:  red velvet cake filled with matcha cream cheese icing and topped with a rich semisweet chocolate ganache.  Read more about the process here!

Part 3 of the Grassroots Youkai Network:  For Kagerou Imaizumi, dorayaki pancakes as round as a full moon.  The filling is made of chocolate, plus crunchy hazelnut pieces for that little extra bite.  Read more about the process here! 🐺

October is the season for the not-so-spooky Grassroots Youkai trio!  All three characters have an odd mix of eastern and western traits, so the theme of their desserts is “traditional…with a twist.”

Happy holidays everyone! 🎉 A small break from our usual posts, but we bring you something just as sweet! Asa and I went to a convention recently and met with a very cool person, Aelioradesign, who has followed our work before. They cosplayed Yuuka and handed out these super adorable sunflower cupcakes!

Sweet potato crisp and fall leaf cookies for the Aki sisters. This time it’s something a little more simple, but I hope you will still enjoy it. ♥ Read more about the process here!

Ice cream soda / float based off our resident ghost captain, Minamitsu Murasa! It’s made with Sprite, white peach syrup, and vanilla ice cream. Despite only having a couple of ingredients, this was quite the challenge to pull off. Read more about it here!

And for the real kick off to Magical Gastronomy, the Komeiji sisters’ parfaits are done! We were planning these for around late August, but the heart sprinkles for Satori’s parfait came in way earlier than expected.

Anyway, these were pretty complicated due to having so many different layers. The Koishi parfait has mint cream, chocolate cake, and vanilla custard. The Satori one is blueberry cream, strawberry cake, and Earl Grey custard. Read more about the process here!
