Two job-hunting resources that changed my life:
This cover letter post on askamanger.com. A job interview guide written by Alison Green, who runs askamanager.
useful
Alison Green’s advice works.
Alison Green got me all my interviews from 2012 onward, I am reasonably sure.
Alison Green is basically my life guide.
Mine too - she was my most visited website for the first few years of my working career, and I cannot emphasise enough how much her advice helped me navigate how to behave in a work environment. You name it, she has an answer for it. Definitely a life hack.
The Clip Studio Asset challenge theme going on right now is “chains”, I’d been meaning to make some chain brushes anyway for optimizing Pipeburn so I don’t need to ink every individual link in every panel like I did last time and decided to actually enter for once. I made a set of set-dressing chains with varying levels of detail to be layered through Foreground, middle ground, and background in scenes, as well as some various jewelry and machine chains. They’re all free for whoever wants them, but if you download/like/share you can help increase my chances of winning some Clippy!
So I posted a silly doodle yesterday on twitter and now people think it was a tutorial. So I got upset and made an actual tutorial so noone says I halfassed the yesterday's one 😡😡😡
Here you go: ~How I draw braids~ 🩷🙏
It's done! You can find the Absolutely Ripping It Up pack here.
Tear your artwork. Decay it. Blast a giant hole into it. Go nuts. Note that these are compatible only with Clip Studio!
here’s 200+ freebie brushes | and my brush tag is here ✨

Apologies if you've been asked this before, but when creating period-accurate characters and costumes, how do you go about researching? I'm currently working on some historical fiction projects, and am overwhelmed! Do you have any places you frequently go for references, sources, etc? (Again, apologies if this has been asked)
Good news, I have a massive Google Doc for exactly that! 😄

hey here's a website for downloading any video or image from any website.
works w/ youtube, soundcloud, twitch, twitter (gifs and videos), tumblr (video and audio), and most other websites you're probably lookin to download stuff off of.
for anyone wondering about privacy and whatnot, i'm happy to say that the developers are pretty committed to have 0 trackers and 0 data retention. you can read more in their "about" section, but here's the basic important stuff:
Hey this let me download the videos of my band from a skate shop's instagram that I've been trying to get for like six years.
some graphic design resources cause im bored and itching to write something but i cant write anything i'm happy with--- anywayssss

heres a cool site to learn how to pair fonts together
heres another site to learn kerning [spacing]
in fact heres a bunch of games to help u get better at graphic design stuff
some free online video editors x x x
color accessibility resources :]
savee.it - like pinterest but for designers!! unfortunately it has a save limit for free users but u should still be able to browse it for inspo i think?
some free fonts
aside from coolors i really love adobe color!! it has color palette generator [triads, monochrome, complementary, etc.], accessibility tools, palettes+gradients extractors, and color palettes inspired by trends within diff industries.
make moodboards online for freeee i miss u polyvore
spline and womp for web based 3d design! + blender of course [go make that donut!]
we all know and love them: photopea [photoshop but free and on a browser?!] and canva [no introduction needed im sure]
upscale the resolution / quality of pics it says anime but it works really well with most stuff like video game screenshots [gets rid of hard edges/pixels]
typography inspo
more color palette generators [already meets accessibility guidelines]
filmgrab - a curation of movie scenes 💕
here's another one but for color palettes from films
more inspo and tutorials

freepik - lots and lots of free design assets.
flaticon - lots of flat icons / vectors. i haven't used this in a while, but it was free last i checked

Adding more to this list and am hoping that's okay.
pixabay - 100% F2U, royalty free, and can use everything on there commercially without the need to credit them.
fonts that are F2U for commercial use - Exactly what it says on the tin. All of the fonts from this specific portion of the website can be used commercially without the need of crediting and is royalty free.
image convertor - You know ... just in case you need any images converted because your GFX program is being picky af or whatever the case may be.
extract palette from image - This is a super neat little feature that coolors has and I think it's worth mentioning tbh.
text color fader - This is more useful for roleplaying but I'm sure someone will find use out of this for their GFX programs (especially if you use gradients with your text).
i watched one (1) video on how to draw hands that changed my life forever. like. i can suddenly draw hands again
