I don't know if I believe that technological civilizations elsewhere in the universe would have invented Schrödinger's wave equation. Like I bet they would have some version of quantum mechanics if they got to studying things like radiation or the photoelectric effect, but I don't think that that precise formulation of it in terms of wave functions would have occurred to them.
Actually it occurs to me that we on Earth only formulated thermodynamics because of some very specific historical circumstances related to the industrialization of Europe. I can very easily imagine science developing in such a way that the question of "blackbody radiation" never even arose.
