So....I played Mouthwashing a while ago. I probably cannot play it again because it was so intense, but it was so fucking good. So, of course, I had to make some art: the Unicorn.
So I just watched The Amazing Digital Circus finale, and wanted to give my thoughts! Major spoilers below the cut so reader be warned!! (Also my thoughts are a bit fragmented cause brain no like translating abstract feelings into words sometimes so bare with me)
Juneteenth is about Black people who were officially technically supposed to be freed from enslavement. Nobody else. Nothing else. It's not a POC day. It's not a "freedom for all" day. It's Black folk, Black culture, Black emancipation, SPECIFICALLY. Any other observation for Juneteenth is gentrification.
Your Juneteenth reminder that just because they made it a "national holiday," it's still not. It's for the celebration of Black Americans being freed from slavery, finally.
It's from Texas. We been welcoming other descendants of the enslaved. But we close the gate and draw the line with "everybody."
Bringing this back on Juneteenth because making Black observations a national holiday didn't and doesn't end racism and the nonblacks are more insufferable than they have been in my lifetime about Black American people and our things.
Happy Juneteenth to those whose lives would not be actively free without the day happening. See the rest of you tomorrow.
Most people donโt even know her name. Alice Parker is her name. Back in 1919, she created and patented a gas powered heating system when most homes were still using fireplaces and coal stoves. She imagined heating an entire home safely, with different rooms warmed individually instead of relying on one fire source. Even though her system wasnโt fully used back then, her ideas are the reason modern central heating and zoning exist today. Thatโs Black history. Thatโs legacy.

To the trans girl reading this: it is never to late to transition. It is never too late to question your gender identity. It is never too late for anything. Live your dreams and be your happiest self. Don't leave yourself wondering of what could've been when it could be now. I will wrap my arms around you and embrace you, even if you want to transition in your mid 30s or 40s. Even if you've already had puberty and your body has developed. It will never be too late.
i support universal free healthcare for one simple reason: if you are diagnosed with a terminal illness you should quit your job. quitting your job is the correct response to terminal illness. but you canโt do that if your healthcare is tied to your job
listen if somebody knows that they will be dead in a years time, and you are forcing them to continue to come into work, thatโs fucked up. terminally ill people should be able to quit their jobs and live their last few months to the fullest. i donโt get how thatโs a controversial opinion
