Friendly reminder:
Azrielâs shadows were born out of trauma. Azrielâs shadows do not define him. Azrielâs trauma does not define him.
So when a symbol of a personâs trauma disappears, that is not a bad thing.
I REPEAT: WHEN A SYMBOL OF A PERSONâS TRAUMA DISAPPEARS, THAT IS NOT A BAD THING.
Just to reiterate: The symbol of Azrielâs trauma disappears around Elain.
Oh, but Elain doesnât deserve him. Never mind. The shadows can stay. The trauma can stay. Because Elain is boring.
Literally what youâre telling me is you would rather keep Azriel in his trauma, than let him be with someone he loves (yes, LOVES), because sheâs too âsoftâ for you.
This has been a post.
To add onto this I HATE GWYNRIEL nothing against the actual ship but I hate what itâs done. I saw Gwyn as a beautiful strong character that was figuring out how to deal with her trauma and the outside world, especially men, and I feel like gwynriel fans just said fuck that I donât give a shit hereâs my ship and it better happen...it just makes me a upset Bc I feel like all of the amazing ness of gwyn has been overshadowed by ppl trying to push gwynriel over elriel
gwyn appreciation (spoilers)
i feel like when we (gwyn stans) talk about her, it usually involves azriel and talking about why its gwynriel forever. but we hardly ever just talk about gwyn without involving azriel.
hereâs a list of moments that made me fall in love with gwyn.
⢠was the first priestess who took the courage to train with nesta and cassian.
â˘brought back the valkyries and helping other females find their true selves.
â˘was the first one to cut the ribbon and become a true valkyrie
â˘sacrificed herself to save the children when hybern raided her temple.
â˘was not hurt or mad at nestaâs strong tone when they first met
â˘accepted nesta and her flaws and saw more to who nesta actually was
â˘was afraid of leaving the library but faced those fears for her friends
â˘was sexually assaulted by hybernâs men and did not let her trauma define her.
â˘refused to leave nesta to die during the blood rite
â˘successfully was able to find nesta and emerie during the blood rite by herself
This is why i will always love Gwyn whether she ends up with azriel or not, because she is one hell of a woman and has a bright future ahead of herself.

Three long days dragged by.
Rowan rarely left Aelinâs side, making his home in the seat by her bed. He left his post on only a few occasions. To relieve himself, to shower in the en suite bathroom (they were fortunate enough that Aelin had been given a nice, private room as she healed), or to move to allow one of her family members to sit beside her.
The days were monotonous. He sat there, the air filled with the steady beep of her heart monitor. He would eat when he had the stomach to, doze off when his eyes became too heavy to keep open. Nurses would come in, examine Aelin and her IVs, change her bandages, make sure everything was progressing properly.

Earl Grey and Cappuccinos: Part One
Guess whoâs back with a new story?? Itâs me! Before I even get started with the intro, I need to say a massive thank you to @nalgenewhore - and if you like this story, then you should too - because this would not exist without her. Sheâs responsible for like 75% of the things that happen here, because her ideas are the best and I would be lost without her. Even as Iâm typing this, sheâs on the doc adding even more wonderful ideas to my outline. She wanted a coffee shop AU, and I wanted them to be rival tattoo artists, and this is what happened.
Summary: Itâs a Coffee Shop AU meets Rival Tattoo Artists AU meets Elorcan - do I even need to say anything else?
Warnings: Pretty sure itâs just language for now, friends.
.
Lorcan was scrolling through his appointments on his phone when he heard the barista rattle off someoneâs completed order followed by his own. âCappuccino for Elide and an Earl Grey for Lorcan!â
Busy with checking the mock-ups he had to work on for a client later in the week - a full-bodied silhouette of Hellas, the God of Death - he barely paid attention as he reached for the cup sheâd set on the counter. He was several steps away from the counter by the time heâd lifted the cup to his mouth, aiming for a vacant table in the back of the room where he could spread out with his sketchbooks to work.
Taking a sip from his cup, he almost choked on the liquid that coated his tongue - which was definitely not his tea.Â
Swallowing around the bitter taste of coffee in his mouth, he looked down at the cup in his hands, groaning when he realized he hadnât actually grabbed his drink at all. The name scrawled on the cup said Elide, and apparently heâd just taken a sip of her cappuccino.

it would take 2.3 million years for Jeff Bezos to earn his $183.3b net worth working 24 hours a day at New Mexicoâs $9/hr minimum wage.
Thatâs 11.5 times longer than the human race has existed.

It wasnât much later that wedding planning began to kick into gear.Â
Aelin hadnât known what exactly to expect, but even if she had tried to formulate some idea of what it would be like, she never would have been prepared for the actual hell that it was. Choosing napkin colors, centerpieces, flower arrangements. Within five minutes, Aelin wanted to put her head through a wall. Rowan was feeling the same, if not worse.
She was sitting in her office, looking at photos that their planner had emailed her, showing different combinations of flowers and vases. Aelin truly couldnât care less; she honestly had half a mind to close her eyes and randomly pick one, or just forward it to Rowan and pass the responsibility on to him. She hadnât come in here to look at flowers; she had business to attend to.

ABBA goes so hard in so many different ways like they really have a song for every situation.. breaking up? getting married? defeating the french? Finding out you have not one but three possible fathers??? Really they covered everything
I was walking behind a woman for five minutes and she got catcalled three times.
I usually walk everywhere with my headphones on, but I had them in my bag and I was reading a book on my phone instead (I do that when the foot traffic is light). Â A young Latina was coming down the street as I was coming up the avenue, and when she got to the corner a few paces ahead of me, she turned to walk in the direction I was going. Â We were traveling at the same speed, but since she was like ten paces ahead and itâs bright outside in the middle of the day, I didnât feel the need to fall back or slow down to give her more space. At night, I try not to walk too close behind women just so they donât feel like Iâm any sort of threat.
We got to a corner and this dude standing outside of the bodega was like, âSlow down mama where you goin? You donât have to work today, you can stop and speak.â
She didnât break her stride. âIâm going to the gym.â Â The Walk sign was on, so I didnât break mine either. Â
A block later, a young guy was coming toward us on the sidewalk riding his bike.
âWhatâs good shorty?â
She didnât respond.
âWell you was lookin, you can say something, stuck up bitch.â
We kept walking.
In the middle of the next block, an older man was walking toward us and he put on a friendly smile and said, âSmile young lady, itâs a beautiful day.â
I donât know if she smiled, but we kept walking. She went into the gym and I kept on toward where I was going thinking about how that was just five minutes of her day. Â How many other blocks of five minutes are just like that? Â
Only one of them was truly aggressive. The other two guys seemed nice enough and it felt more like a pleasant compliment. It felt like the kind of thing a guy says who argues with women online about catcalling. âWeâre not all bad guys. We canât even compliment women? We canât even say something nice?â
No. Â You really canât. Â I was annoyed in that five minutes and I just happened to be walking behind her with no headphones on. Â Can you imagine those five minutes over and over every day of your life? Â Nobody wants to be spoken to by strangers day in and day out forever regardless of what theyâre saying. Â
So no. Â You canât say anything. The quality of your life has not decreased because you arenât allowed to say nice things to strange women on the sidewalk, but your silence greatly increases the quality of hers. Â So just be quiet, and let her go where sheâs going.

Zohra Sehgal, a South Asian actress par excellence, actually spoke multiple languages including Urdu, Hindi, English and German. She is one of the earliest international actresses who came from an aristocratic Muslim family in India. When her father insisted that she get married, she outright said, âI donât want to get married,ââ and announced that she might become a pilot. In 1917 she went to a boarding school in Lahore, after which, in 1930, she donned a burqa and set off for Europe by road â crossing Iran, Syria, Palestine and Egypt. She trained as a ballet dancer in Germany. Zohra was quite blunt when it came to expressing her opinions. She was an agnostic and defied all the stereotypes about a âMuslim girl from a traditional familyâ. She was unbelievably bold and confident and was known for her mischievous humor. She earned immense respect in British TV at a time when people were not accepting of âdiversityâ and even the Asian roles were played by white people. When she had first arrived in Britain, âit was such that if we were sitting in the bus, the British did not sit next to us. Unconsciously in the minds of white people, there was a hesitationâ. She defied cultural norms once more when she married her Hindu student eight years younger than her. She never felt welcomed in Lahore, so she left half her family in Pakistan after 1947 Partition and settled in Delhi where she taught a theater group. She raised her children on her own when her husband committed suicide at a young age. She was literally unstoppable and appeared consistently in British TV series like The Jewel in Crown, Mind Your Language and Doctor Who. She has acted in myriad Bollywood films and performed across Japan, Egypt, Europe and the US. She was a classical dancer, choreographer, cinema, theater and television actress whose career spanned over 8 decades. She was awarded Padma Shri and Padma Vibhushan, some of the highest civilian honors in India. She was a fighter all her life, she even defeated cancer. On her 100th birthday she said, âI want an electric cremation. I donât want any poems and fuss after that. And for heavenâs sake donât bring back the ashes. Flush them down the toilet if the crematorium refuses to keep them. If they tell you that I am dead, I want you to give a big laugh". Zohra aapa lived the life of a grand diva and passed away in 2014 at the age of 102.
âOh, my burqa was of lovely silk and I was so glad I made petticoats out of it!â
Zohra with her husband Kameshwar Sehgal in 1945.
âWhat actually makes brings out your beauty is the radiance of being content and you can only be content when you are employed in something you love.â
âYou see me now when I am old and ugly, in fact you should have seen me earlier â when I was young and ugly!â
Zohra at her 100th birthday was quietly humming âAbhi To Main Jawan Hoonâ (I am still young) by poet Hafeez Jullundhri, as she attacked the huge cake.
âLifeâs been tough but Iâve been tougher. I beat life at its own gameâ
What an amazing face! And an even more amazing woman!
What a life, what a woman!
I am so pleased that there are people who make these types of posts.
Thank you.
To be honest, thinking about ACOSF having been removed from the fandom for a little while, I donât trust SJM with Cassian. Sheâs going to make him suffer and I am not here for it. This is going to be painful.
Wow. The patience, kindness and calm communication skills. Outstanding.

This made me cry. I wish all situations could be handled as perfectly as this
I just want to point out the core of what the diffuser did in this conversation
They recognized that the mother was also expressing a vulnerable truth about herself - that she felt like a bad mother because her child was expressing gender feelings she wasnât equipped to help with - and met her where she was, a concerned parent with limited information - to point her where she should be heading, research and resources.
Im going to make more of an effort to stop reflexively pushing people away when they express biases and make more of an effort to hear the underlying fears when i can
âitâs easier to love ourselves when we feel loved as ourselvesâ
damn that is so powerful though
