As a (West-)European i can say we definitly take the cake for being extremly full of ourselves, a mentality that is very toxic when travelling, because just travelling to povo countries alone won't make you less racist and or xenophobic etc. It gets extremely romanticized to go to these places like Bali , beautiful and CHEAP like that is not for a reason. People working for a slave salary being extremly happy beacause you gave them a 25€ tip (there whole familytrees rent for the year paid ), you get an ego boost because your so nice and you made them sooo happy when you wouldn't even see the difference .But what can they do with that actual money.Shit healthcare, shit schools, shit Jobs,shit justice system,... The misery in these places is just so clear that people leave with an enormous amount of gratitude that also comes with a big sigh that they can go back to there normal civillised life because 'the locals ' live pretty ass life 4 .When they see something truly f up happen :shit gets stolen, people tryng to escape the country by tricking people into love, woman getting treated like before the emancipation ( that many are kinderen proud about but also find annoying and will not actually voren for), stuff eating dogs and cats as if ( ofcourse not in most cultural contexts) that concept is that absurd,(not like they a care about there wellbeing before there death anyways) its dehumanizing of people because our culture humanized a certain amount of animals to have more compassion for them more than actual the people, more fore example the vulnarable hookers and prostitutes they go and see, touch, and fuck 4 a nickle and a dime.
