I kind of have little choice in doing exactly this with every set of coins ever.
I don’t think many people understand that autism does make you violent sometimes. And it fucking sucks. I pride myself on not being an aggressive, mean person but during a meltdown I break stuff and hurt myself and lash out. And then I crash and I feel so fucking guilty.
That doesn’t mean I don’t have systems in place to minimize it or that I don’t put the work in to undo it. I am able to so I do, not everyone can. It’s gotten better since I was a kid. As a kid I’d break my belongings, I broke a door, I ripped my clothes and pillows. Now as an adult, I had a meltdown and the only thing I broke was the lid on a box of Clorox wipes with a small bruise on my arm. Then inevitably crying about it.
It sucks ass but its progress. But pretending that autism is just frolicking through the fields while wearing headphones and not liking wool, that autism is a carefree child who doesn’t understand, it’s harmful and not at all correct. Even your low support needs autists are usually not frolicking about.

Funny they named it 250 because that's how many people showed up.

Psychology expert Shadé Zahrai shares how to shut down common phrases that manipulators use.
This is a good article on some sneaky, manipulative phrases.
I'm unaware of using any of these phrases recently, and am always willing to change toxic patterns, behavior, and words.
imo the way you feel about groups it's fully socially acceptable to hate (like children or polyamorous people, among others) is the canary in the coal mine for underlying bigoted beliefs. if you're only supportive of marginalized groups when it's cool to do so, probably you don't actually care about marginalized groups, you care about other people thinking you care
there are 1 trillion people in the notes of this post saying "yeah! i mean i hate kids but they should have rights!" you hate kids? you mean you hate all members of an oppressed group solely for their membership in this group? right. why do you hate them? because they can't take care of themselves and need help? because they don't understand social norms and can be "annoying" and disrespect boundaries as a result? because they can be messy? because they don't understand things in the same way as you do? that's awesome. how do you feel about disabled people btw
So many people say 'I hate kids' when what they mean is 'I do not feel comfortable around children, especially groups of children, and I do not want to be thrust into a caregiving role against my will (especially true of people perceived as women)'
But they haven't unpacked that because no one has asked them to examine it.
As a reformed kid-hater I agree! Learning about child development, having developmentally-appropriate expectations for children, and understanding them as individuals and part of an oppressed class makes a world of difference. They didn't ask to be here and they don't get to choose their parents or where they're born and they have very little control over their lives. Also recognizing:
- I resented being pressured into caregiver roles (especially as someone who was involved in church when I was younger), and the assumption that I should have/want my own kids because I'm a woman
-my own misunderstood sensory, communication, and social differences as an undiagnosed neurodivergent person led to overwhelm in "kid-friendly" spaces, even during my own childhood
- There should be adults only spaces, but kids can't learn to be a part of the community if they're not included
As a parent, I'm hyper able to see a chest rise and fall.
I don't remember being told to expect that.
My brain kind of adds to the visual effect like it would for some optical illusions.
For me, it comes from having had two newborns in the past four years.
Oh, my dog
I know I'm humanizing my doggie by thinking this, but sometimes I read her and I can read her better than I can most people. Right now, it's like she's saying, "Why do I feel so tired? Why am I so old while you and Mommy never age?"
It's so sad. We don't know how much longer she has, but our surviving (of two sisters, same litter) cat passed weeks ago and our puppo is probably next. It's just a fucked up cosmic chance.
What I feel now is a prequel. I know it is. I've mourned losses before.
When my doggie passes, it's going to be a mercilessly difficult day and week.
Death is the only part of life that I think is the worst. Her turn soon, my turn later. When it comes for me, I get the impression that I won't mind.

the worst part of summer is that people get sooo comfortable expressing their disgust at having to see other people’s bodies. they’re always complaining about wrinkly old men at the nude hot springs or fat women in bikinis at the beach. I hate that shit. if you’re not capable of being normal about bodies you personally don’t find attractive, just turn your head to look at something else! and if you’re not smart enough to do that, then at least do the rest of us the courtesy of suffering in silence, because we don’t wanna hear your weird comments. thanks.
idioms are always funnier in languages you do not understand, especially when a native speaker is struggling to explain and actively digesting how ridiculous it is in real time
here's where to find it on windows 10
Ugh, it was in mine. It's off now.
IT GETS WORSE
I had to turn this off, but it's something that allows Windows and anyone using your device to generate text/images.

AI is a freacking plague, I share this for any windows user.
My fantasy? Very little miscommunication, and maybe the ability to not have things I touch blow up in my face. Maybe the ability to bring something up and not have it become an attack-response session would be too much to ask.
One like nitpick thing that drives me crazy is when people call Blue Whales the largest whales or the largest living mammals or some shit like that
Because yes that is true. But when you frame it like that you are completely disregarding the absolutely batshit reality that Blue Whales are the largest animals that have ever existed on earth through the entire history of the planet and they are alive right now today
