oh man now I kind of want a whole gender-swapped reimagining of frankenstein… something something dead women having their bodies stolen and autonomy revoked in the name of creating new life… the selection of only the most ‘desirable’ (attractive) parts forming a whole tailored completely for the male gaze… the character arc not only concerning the realization of violence but of sexual objectification on the part of the men around her… this has Potential!!!

reminds me of a YouTube video I saw a while back by LavenderTowne analyzing the movie Poor Things, which was written as a feminist retelling of frankenstein but (according to the video) really missed the mark… LavenderTowne had some really great ideas for fixes to that movie’s flaws
