4 Easy Korean Grammar
์๋ง์, ์/์ด์ผ ๋๋ค, ๋ค์, ๋ฟ๋ง ์๋๋ผ
There are 2 intermediate and 2 beginner grammar, although I think they are almost all around the upper beginner/low Intermediate range. Depending on your level, these will be very easy to learn compared to some other (more complicated) Korean grammar.

~ (์ผ)ใน๋ฟ๋ง ์๋๋ผ (intermediate)
V-์๋ง์ = as soon as, right away
Usage: to Indicate that something occurs immediately after the end of some other event or action. Itโs added to verbs and translated as โright afterโ or โas soon asโ in English. -์๋ง์ can also be shortened to just -์.
Base form โ -์๋ง์ = Ex: ๋ณด๋ค โ ๋ณด์๋ง์ - as soon as I see, as soon as I look, as soon as I watch
Examples:
์์ ์ด ๋๋์๋ง์ ํ์๋ค์ ๊ต์ค์ ๋๊ฐ์ด์.
The students left the classroom right after class ended.
์์๋ฅผ ์ด์ ์ค๋๋ ์ฑ ๋ค๊ณผ ๋ฌธ์๊ฐ ๋ณด์์ต๋๋ค.
When I opened the box, I saw old books and documents.
๊ฐ๊ฒ์์ ๋ณด์๋ง์ ๋ง์์ ๋ค์ด์ ๋ฐ๋ก ์ฐ ๊ฑฐ์ผ.
I bought it right away because I liked it as soon as I saw it at the store.
Rules To Know:
The tense in not expressed with the first verb before ์๋ง์, but is added in the second verb.
Example:
์ง์ ๊ฐ์๋ง์ ์ฌ์์ด์ (X) โ ์ง์ ๊ฐ์๋ง์ ์ฌ์์ด์ (O)
The subjects in the first and/or second clause can either be the same or different and itโs still fine
A/V -์/์ด์ผ ๋๋ค = have to, should
Usage: To express an obligation or necessity to do something. The form can end with ์/์ด์ผ ํ๋ค or ์/์ด์ผ ๋๋ค with no change in meaning, although of -์/์ด์ผ ๋๋ค is more commonly used than -์/์ด์ผ ํ๋ค.
Forms:
Verbs ending in vowel ใ or ใ + ์์ผ ๋๋ค/ํ๋ค:
๊ฐ๋ค โ ๊ฐ์ผ ๋๋ค/ํ๋ค = have to go
Verbs ending in vowel other thanใ or ใ + ์ด์ผ ๋๋ค/ํ๋ค:
์ฝ๋ค โ ์ฝ์ด์ผ ๋๋ค/ํ๋ค = have to read
ํ๋ค verbs โ ํด์ผ ๋๋ค/ํ๋ค:
๊ณต๋ถํ๋ค โ ๊ณต๋ถํด์ผ ๋๋ค/ํ๋ค = have to study
Examples:
์๊ฐ์ด ๋ฆ์ด์ ์ด๋ง ์ง์ ๊ฐ์ผ ํด.
It's late, so I have to go home now.

๋น ์ค๋ ๋ ์ด์ ํ ๋๋ ํ์๋ณด๋ค ๋ ์กฐ์ฌํ์ฌ์ผ ๋ผ์.
You should be more careful than usual when driving on a rainy day.
A/V/N - (์ด)๋ค์ = really, certainly, wow
Usage: to express surprise when you learn something from an experience (not from another source) or agree with someone (experiencing the same thing)
Tense:
A/V -๋ค์
N -(์ด)๋ค์
ํ์ -> ํ์์ด๋ค์
์์ฌ -> ์์ฌ(์ด)๋ค์
Examples:
์ค๋์ ๋ ์จ๊ฐ ์ ๋ง ์ข๋ค์.
Wow, the weather is really nice today.
๋ฐฑํ์ ์ย ์ฌ๋์ดย ์ ๋งย ๋ง๋ค์.
There are so many people at the store today.
๊ฐ: ํ๊ตญ ์์์ ์ ๋์๋ค์. = You eat Korean foods really well.
๋: ๋ค, ํ๊ตญ ์์์ด ์์ฃผ ๋ง์์ด์. = Yes, Korea food is so delicious.
(์ผ)ใน ๋ฟ๋ง ์๋๋ผ = not only A but also B
Usage: to express that โnot only what you said in the first sentence, but also what you said in the first sentenceโ. This can be without the -๋ง part added in too.
Tenses:
A/V (past) - ์/์์ ๋ฟ๋ง ์๋๋ผ
A/V (present) - ์/ใน ๋ฟ๋ง ์๋๋ผ
N์ด๋ค - w/ consonants - ์ผ ๋ฟ๋ง ์๋๋ผ
N - w/ vowels - ๋ฟ๋ง ์๋๋ผ
Examples:
์ง์๋ ์์ ๋ฟ๋ง ์๋๋ผ ์ฑ๊ฒฉ๋ ์ข์์ ์ธ๊ธฐ๊ฐ ๋ง๋ค.
