One hot breathless air after another, Mason couldn’t keep up with himself through the endless forest where there was nothing but tall, green trees, and dirt on the ground beneath his feet. The many thumps of each heartbeat pulsed against his head and ears, hearing a small ring noise on his right ear. He hoped to make it out alive from The Shelby’s territory and without second doubts his main mission is getting out and going straight to Sabini in London. Knowing there is so much to tell his boss in what he went through. From being held prisoner for almost months, his other partner being killed by the Shelby brothers, taking care of the little girl by the Peaky’s, and the biggest news is that Alfie Solomon’s is still alive.
It can’t be true… how the hell is this Jew still alive…??? How… how is that possible???”
Through the endless trees Mason felt that these greenless woods would never end. He could feel his lips growing more drier, and drier after every step he took. Feeling the bottom of his shoes, the numbness, the aching feeling of stepping on knives.
While he looked back to see if he was being followed, he suddenly fell into a long and narrow slide of dirt. Tumbling, rolling, and hitting bits of twigs along the path. Until he landed on a flatter ground on his stomach. He felt dizzy, a bit conscious, his vision blurry but still felt his lungs rising up and down. However in the distance he heard a horse neighing and slowly lifted his head up. And in front of him saw a massive size mansion, a cement wall and what seemed to be a fountain in the front.
He made it to the house of Thomas Shelby…
________
Inside the mansion, both Charlie and Elena were playing in the living room while Grace looked on in happiness. Seeing Charlie this happy in months was a blessing, knowing he didn’t get along much with the other children in town. Grace felt her little boy was special in a way that she can’t explain. Ever since giving brith to him, Thomas was extremely protective of him. Like any other normal father would be though this father and son relationship was more deeper. To the point where Thomas has had visions and dreams of the future and Charlie would sometimes wake up some nights in their room. It made Grace feel uneasy and terrified.
“I saw you die Grace,” he said one night, lying in bed next to his wife.
Grace, laying on top of his strong exposed chest, looked up at him slowly.
“Whatever you mean darling.”
“It felt real… your body felt cold to the touch… blood was covering my hands… I could feel I might lose you at any moment,” he said, his eyes filling up with tears.
Grace gently cupped both of his cheeks sitting on top of him looking down on him.
“Thomas, you're never going to lose me… all these visions you're seeing are all in your head. I’m here and so is Charlie, and that's what is more important,” she said, kissing him gently against his lips.
Grace has noticed Thomas being closer and even more watchful of both Grace and Charlie. Even to the point where they would go to every single place where Thomas was called upon. It annoyed her for a moment but everytime she went to travel around it felt normal. There were times when she would go to the market with Charlie but in the distance, she would see him in that long dark navy blue coat and that unforgetable peaky hat. As if he has become this watchful angel keeping an eye on his family that anybody would try and harm them.
While she daydreamed, Cyril barked uncontrollably making Grace straightened up on her seat. As well frightening the children.
“Cyril!!! What are you barking about eh,?” Grace asked as the big dog continued.
Cyril made his way to one of the big windows looking out the front porch, but there was nothing. Grace walked her way towards the glass window trying to settle the big dog down. Her eyes looked one way and the other not knowing what he senses or saw outside.
“Mama. What he barking at?” asked Little Charlie, saying in a squeaky voice.
Grace didn’t hear him at first; she was too concerned about what's out there. She felt the need to go out and check for herself but she knew better.
“Mama.”
“Yes Charlie. I don’t know sweetheart. Now quiet Cyril shush!”
Cyril slowly eased his barking, but stayed looking out the window growling quietly under his breath.
Elena made her way next to the big dog's side also looking out but she too didn’t see anything. She placed a gentle hand on Cyrils back caressing the giant's fur with her hand. She too felt an uneasy feeling but she can’t seem to know the answer
Maybe there is something out there but what???... Or even who???
There was a knock on the door which made everyone jump in fright but it was just Frances.
“Mrs. Shelby dinner will be ready soon,” she said.
“Oh it's you Frances, thank goodness,” said Grace, placing a hand against her chest.
“Theres somethng wrong madam?” Frances asked, seeing that everyone was on their toes.
“No nothing wrong, just Cyril started to bark at something that isn’t there. And it's making us all feel uneasy but we're fine now.”
“Ahh I see I did hear him ‘cross the hallway but I thought it was a normal bark. But I’m sure he saw an animal and nothing more,” Frances said, trying to sound reasuring.
Grace nodded her head in agreement but she still had this gut feeling there could be something out there.
“Yes. You're right that could be true. But yes Frances, we'll be there shortly. I want to get the children to clean up thier toys first,” said Grace, giving a smile to the maid.
Once the toys were picked up Charlie and Grace along with Cyril made their way to the door. Except Elena which she still looked around seeing up ahead the sky was becoming darker and darker. Grace saw the child as she walked her way towards the little girl.
“Elena. What's wrong? I’m sure it was just nothing, it could have been just a squirrel or a bird.” Grace said, trying to make the child feel more relaxed.
“But what if Cyril sensed something bad out there… what if it might be the bad man that escaped,” said Elena with a shaky voice.
“No, no heavens no. No one will ever dare enter this house as long as I and Thomas are here and so is Alfie. You're in protected hands and nothing or no one will take you away from us. You understand?” Grace said, kneeling down at the child’s height cupping her face with her hands.
When Elena arrived at the mansion she felt like a daughter to her instantly. She always dreamt of wanting to have a girl of her own but Charlie came first which was enough for her. But with Elena it felt like she had this responsibility to also look out for her. Even if Alfie is around and keeping her safe Grace also wanted to be a part of that. Solomons didn’t mind once he saw her starting to be around with the young child. He however at some point grew a bit possessive seeing the peaky’s wife was taking the role of a parent to Elena. Grace noticed this behavior when she confronted Alfie one time in the stables feeding the horses.
“I am not tryin’ to take your role away from Elena. I know how important she is to you Mr. Solomons.”
“Do ya now?? Not realizin’ she’s gone through so much trauma pain and ‘er family are just nothin’ but a bunch of fuckin’ no gooders. Lettin’ that fat worm circus cunt treat their daughters like property, the massive abuse, and not even doin’ a single damn THING!!! TO TRY AND HELP THEM!!!”Alfie burstingly said kicking the wooden stable wall, making a few animals panic in fright.
Grace didn’t react to it much seeing she has seen these types of outbursts from Tommy. Though this feeling of anger was different now understanding where Elena and Alfie come from. She has never bothered to ask more about how he got himself involved with the childs life. Especially when he talks about Jovonka hearing how much he would always praise her with loving words how special she is to him. It almost sounds like she was some type of goddess that he is worshipping so religiously. Grace thought it was a bit strange and iiritating seeing that is the only thing that's in his mind day and night. Though she knows that she would sound like a hypocrite when she also will think about Charlie and obviously Thomas and his secret life as the lead ringer of the Peaky Blinders. There will never be a day where she will feel unedged for her son’s and husband’s safety knowing there will always be danger lurking around.
Alfie gently placed his head against the wooden wall feeling defeated and leating out a slow sigh. Grace walked his way placing a soft hand on top of his left shoulder blade. He didn’t seem to react or flinch of some sort but he welcomed it.
“Alfie. I understand your frustration, your ache and where you're comin’ from and now I understand how important Elena is to you. Especially your wife Jovonka, she will be found along with her sister Isabel and get all of you together again. My husband is doin’ everythin’ he can to find your loved one, don't give in yet,” she said, trying to look into his eyes.
Alfie looked back into the woman with the brightest blue eyes feeling tears forming within his eyes. Feeling very vulnerable and weak in front of Grace, almost feeling embarrassed. He slowly knelt down to the ground feeling defeated, ashamed, an ultimate failure not only to his world but to Jovonka.
Why did I let all of this happen to not me but to Her…
Grace knelt down as well slowly giving him a tender hug which he returned the gesture but in a firm manner. Trying not to break her like a porcelain doll and burst into cries.
After that day Alfie made his peace with Grace which she was pleased to know. Seeing that Alfie was wrong to see this woman in a wrongful way. But he also felt delighted that Elena did need a proper motherly figure, and that Mrs. Shelby was the right woman to do that.
Elena thought about what Grace said but she came to her senses that it should be nothing to worry about.
“Yes Mrs. Shelby.”
“Right. Now let's get some dinner shall we yea?” Grace said, giving a warm smile trying to lighten the mood up.
As they made their way out Grace called on Cyril which he did obey but Grace glazed back at the large window one last time. She still felt an unnerving feeling that maybe Cyril did see or felt a presence. She slowly closed the door behind her while on the side of the mansion walls Mason eerily was staring from afar. Waiting for the right opportunity to break inside the house not knowing he had stepped into the wrong house with the wrong family.
Now… to find a way inside…
__________
“It feels we migh’ be goin’ around’ in circles in this godless infernal woods ey?,” protested Alfie trying his best to keep up with Thomas’s rate.
Thomas didn’t pay too much attention to Alfie’s fussiness while he scanned around which he couldn’t see much. They’ve been walking for almost the entire afternoon and now it’s completely pitch dark with only their lamp lights to guide them through. Tommy knew these very grounds to the point where he could envision a map in his head. Though there have been times where he could be confused and some things might look familiar and other times they didn’t. But he was a Gypsy and a soldier from the war. He should know his way around places so he shouldn’t be failing at this.
“Tommy. Mate. We should stop for a moment, me damn leg is fuckin’ aching,” Alfie said which a found a large trunk tree almost looking like a bench seat.
Alfie slowly sat down releasing a long sigh of relief while leaning back towards another tree trunk. Thomas did start to slow down still looking around trying to find any traces left behind by the escapee.
“Hmmm, tha’ feels better. Don’ know abou’ you Tom but I think we migh’ be lost. Everythin’ has been the same to me for the last few hours. I'm sure he has already left this par’ of the countryside.”
Thomas didn’t say a word, still trying to think, look around but nothing came into mind. He let out a small sigh under his breath feeling disappointed and maybe Alfie was right. He, his brothers and his entire gang have failed extraordinarily at this scouting party. Up ahead thunder was heard in the distance indicating that a storm was coming their way.
“Maybe and maybe not, it takes a couple of more miles to get to the other side of this area by foot,” said Thomas, making his way back towards where Alfie was resting.
It became a bit quiet between the two men feeling this sense of defeat. Alfie could only think of Jovonka remembering her touch, her face, her lips, her everything. How he was desperate to find his treasure not knowing if she is still even alive or has been long gone already.
My Jovonka… My Sweetheart… What if you are already gone from this world…???
He shook that thought away from his head, knowing within his gut she is somewhere out there alive. She had to be but under that bastard’s hands Savini that’s what made him more furious. Whatever he is doing to her would be unimaginable if he is touching her or making her do such things. Alfie would lose his mind seeing that he will put that wop’s life to an end even if it means that if he has to go to Hell for it.
“I’m sorry for bringin’ this type of trouble to you, your child and wife,” said Alfie feeling guilty.
“You don’t have to feel regretful Solomon’s, I should also blame myself for my part with my men not doing their jobs properly,” Thomas said knowing how much of a fool he sounded.
“It seems we both have a part in all of this mate. We all were a bunch of simpletons for not havin’ proper look outs. But now we had to learn it the hard way now,” said the Jewish King gazing his attention to the peaky man.
Tommy nodded his head in accordance while thunder continued to rumble in the distance a bit more closer now. They both felt a bit of light rain drops against their faces indicating it will start to pour anytime soon. Alfie took it in for a moment and so did Thomas lifting their heads up looking up at the now dark clouds blocking the moon away.
Once the moon hid behind the clouds the rain came down a bit lighter while Alfie closed his eyes for a moment. Flashes of Jovonka came all at once, their time at Margate when he brought her in for the first time. The time she looked like a new woman and actually showed her true natural self, sharing their first kiss together leading them to also having their first intimacy, their times at the beach, bringing in her sisters from their awful home at the circus. So much has happened to them both that it all came to an ending so soon.
I’m sorry Jovonka… I have failed you miserably…
“You deserved a better man than me, my sweet angel… unlike me,” Alfie said out loud, hanging his head down lowly, feeling raindrops coming down his face.
Thomas heard this while he continued on listening to every word he said.
“I never meant to bring this world of mine upon you… You were meant to be with someone who isn’t a dangerous man who will put you in danger at all times, a gangster who has many enemies, bein’ an ignorant bastard for not protectin’ you harder, involvin’ your sisters and not given’ them a proper place to stay… I’m a wasteful piece of fuckin’ shit like everyone else… you deserved a better established man who will treat you with more attentiveness, more gifts, more of everythin…,” Alfie continued on his monologue until he began to feel warm tears down his cheeks.
The guilt, the pressure, the sorrow, the heartbreak, the rage, the loss, coming all at once making Alfie Solomons, The King of Camden Town, The Jewish King, a defeated weakling. A fallen king who let himself get beaten out so easily knowing it makes him look like a total twat.
Thomas didn’t say much knowing he would feel the same way if he ever lost anyone close to him. Ultimately his wife and child would be the enormous damage to his mental and phisycal being. He would feel his world would crumble before him and become hollow, dark, isolated, not wanting to continue without the people he is fighting for and giving everything. Polly, his brothers, his legacy, his home, everything he had built for himself in the beginning was now determined to give it all to the ones he loved the most. It would destroy him for the rest of his life until he is dead.
“Alfred. Enough already. You did everything you could have done for her, her sisters and she is for sure grateful for everything you have done and to have met someone like you. If it weren’t for you that night at Sabinis party and never appeared, I would hate to say this. She would have been in an endless cycle of Hell with that sadist and she wouldn’t have had that second chance to be free from her infernal life without you rescuing her. You're not weak Alfie Solomon’s, you're a man with a purpose, calculated, bold, and someone who would do anything for anyone if it means for you to die for it or for them. I’ll do everything in my power to find her for you and put an end to this and Darby Sabini will meet his maker,” Thomas said looking deep into the man he has made deals with even if it meant betrayal he still has massive respect towards him.
Alfie nodded his head in agreement, inhaling a deep breath and slowly exhaled looking off to the right. The storm became more mildly heavier and without saying another word he slowly got back on his feet.
“I thank you for that mate, for doing everythin’ you and your men have done. You righ…’ we will find her even if I had to go the ends of the Earth to do so,” said Solomon’s standing straight holding his cane to steady himself.
Thomas nodded his head and stood on his feet grabbing his lantern as both men walked their way through the deeper parts of the wood.
“We should head back to the mansion. It's not far off from here we should get there in no time,” said Thomas leading the way towards the Arrow House.
After a couple of steps later, both gangsters could see the house from upahead being half drenched from the now heavy rain with a mellow wind coming in.
“Mind your step down her-,” said Tommy mid way until he saw a pair of steps in the now dirtwet ground.
They still look fresh…
“Oi, Tommy!!! Why is you stoppin’ mate?? We migh’ end up drownin’ down out he-,” Alfie noticed what the Gypsy gangster was looking at.
“You don’ think wha’ we think it is righ’ Tommy??”
Without saying a word he slowly followed the trail seeing more footsteps leading further ahead. Until he felt a few thin twig branches hitting him and Alfie both on all sides.
“Fuckin’ ‘ell!,” muttered Alfie under his breath pushing the small twigs to the sides.
Thomas continued on the path hearing overhead the rain pouring ever more thicker to the point he couldn’t see much further ahead. Suddenly without him knowing he slipped and fell over down the dirt damp ground tumbling and rolling until he landed at the bottom of the ditch.
“TOMMY!!! Fuckin’ ‘ell I’m comin’ Tom!!,”Alfie yelled out to him and made his way down going towards a less steep path.
Thomas was unconscious, his whole damn body aching which he did try to get up but winced a bit. He felt the rain all over his face, the mud half covering his face on the back of his head down to his clothes. He was all a mess. He steadied his breathing, his vision a bit blur from both the fall and rain. A gigantic thunder rumbled within the skies. It was getting terribly worse and colder every minute, almost seeing his foggy breathing coming from his mouth. He tried to get on his side but he groaned just from moving a little more than before.
“Mate!! Tommy!! Are you alrigh’?? Here let me help you,” Alfie said, approaching him as he laid his lantern and cane on the ground and helped the poor Shelby.
Alfie lightly lifted Tommys right arm which he let out a soft groan but ignored the sharp pain. He now sat up feeling the back of his spine feel a bit numb but he knew he’ll live. He sat up there for a moment while Solomons was steadily supporting him. Thomas noticed in the corner of his left eyes his house seeing over a bit from the cement wall some of the lights inside were on. But his eyes only grew large when he saw a motor car in front of the door and what he saw only made him stop thinking about everything he felt around him.
No… No…
“Tommy?? Thomas?? Can you hear me??,” Alfie called out to him but nothing until he saw what he was seeing in the distance which shocked him too.
There laying on the ground was a dead man naked with his head half bashed open and Thomas recgonized who it was. It was one of Johnny Dog's men that was sent to protect his family and Elena.
Thomas and Alfie had one common thing on their minds.

WARNING 18+ ONLY!!!: Mentions of Torture, Graphic Blood, Some Cussing, Mentions of Prostitution, Mentions of Malnutrition, Abuse, and some Devastations(Alfie wanting Jovonka back)
****
Jovonka all curled up on top of the filthy bed in a fetal position crying for what felt like the thousandth time since her arrival at what she now discovered was a prison of a never ending hell. Her dried bloody wrists never have been once medicated by no one. Her hair that once was long and pure is gone and what's left of it only ends around her neck. But more gruesomely was her skin from her back marked by heavy red scars criss crossing from one way to the other. Reminding her of how many different men as well as Sabini would come to lash on her for their sick pleasures or more specifically whenever the Italian monster had to take some steam out he would take it out on Jovonka. There was nothing safe about this place it was only filled with torture, pain, the smell of death, and being used as a piece of meat for pleasure or a play thing. She hasn’t seen a single ray of sun for what she felt like in years. The only light she was provided with was an electric light above the basement and a couple of white candles to keep herself warm but it wasn’t enough. Food was served cold to Jovonka once the day was over with a small cup of water that had a bitter aftertaste. However that wasn’t the worst that she had to go through and there was a bigger problem than just her well being. Jovonka slowly placed a gentle hand above her stomach where a round visible bump was shown. She knew from the start Jovonka felt many changes throughout her body feeling the worst back pains of her life. Jovonka deeply wished for Alfie to be next to her and give the warmest hugs and comforting words telling her that she will be alright. But that will never be such an experience for her to witness. As for Sabini he became enraged and repulsed when noticing her stomach growing little by little. He would verbally and physically punish Jovonka for having an abomination inside of her. Obligating her to tell him what kind of man would let someone’s seed plant inside of her. Jovonka with all of her strength and taking in the agonizing pain never said a word to the Italian devil. She didn’t want him to know who the real father of the child was and it was only her and Isabel to only know..
“You. Once that thing inside of you is finally born you will get rid of and throw it into the streets. Do I make myself clear, you slut?”
Besides dealing with hundreds of beatings, whips, starvation, and so on she hasn’t seen her older sister or even Edna since the day they were taken into the brothel house. It worried her very much not wanting to imagine what horrid things they also are experiencing. The one person that really didn’t bother to come to see her or even Isabel for once was Novel. It turns out from what Sabini had told her he has joined the Italian gang and in exchange gave him his freedom and having whatever he desires. Jovonka didn’t want to believe in such a thing knowing Sabini could be a lying snake. But sadly it was all true devastated to know that her once loving and trustworthy friend would turn his back on her and everyone that cared for him. How could Novel betray them like this? All because he had so much anger towards Alfie which he did nothing but give the young boy and the girls a home and safety. But I guess it wasn’t enough for Novel to be thankful for. A clunking sound of the door was heard above the stairs knowing who it was already. But she didn’t expect to see someone she has been thinking about for so long. The sound of footsteps made their way down while Jovanka didn’t bother to see who it was. Then one of the men named Albert spoke up telling the unknown person that they had a limited time to talk with her.
“You have 5 minutes to speak with her and nothing more, now make it quick,” he commanded, giving Isabel a push which she just brushed it off.
While he made his way up the stairs again and hearing the door close shut, Jovonka slowly turned to look behind her. A relief spread throughout her face, happy to see a familiar face that she’s been waiting for so long until now.
“Is… Isabel is it… really you?” Jovonka said between pauses trying her best to hoist herself up with her right arm but was very weak.
“Darling, what have they done to you?” Isabel, in a shocking state, sat on her knees and helped her little sister to sit up while she went on, “here now don’t move too much or you’ll hurt yourself more. Oh Jovonka… that bastard will pay for all of this.”
Isabel hugged her tightly in her arms crying her eyes out while Jovonka with little motion in her face returned the gesture back. She felt her sister's chin resting on top of her head caressing Jovonka’s short hair gently. Wiping a bit of tears away she looked at her little sister softly grabbing her face with her hands seeing how hollow her eyes looked as if she was a living corpse.
“Isabel… I’m so happy to see you… I thought you were gone,” Jovonka said, resting her hands above Isabel’s arms.
“No, no I’m still here my dear sister, I’ve feared all this time that you’ve been long gone thinking if they took you away somewhere else or have sold you to the streets after that night we were separated. But I’ve never thought that he had you locked up down here and… torture you like this,” she said in a whimper looking all over her sisters cold exposed body covered in bruises dried blood everything.
But what first caught Isabel’s eyes was Jovonka’s round stomach knowing that there was a baby now growing inside. Fearing that her visions were true all along.
“I did as well sister… I thought they took you far away…thinking you were also sold off to someone. But thank heavens… you're here,” Jovonka said, giving off a small weak smile to her older sister making Isabel look up at her eyes
Jovonka noticed that her older sister's hair was different, all cut short like hers but more curly and fancy. Also seeing Isabel wearing a very satin clean dark green dress exposing her sharp shoulders. Seeing a bit of small purple bruises around her arms and chest knowing that she has been beaten abusively.
“Jovonka I don’t have much time left but what I'm really here for is that I have to tell you something. I’ve had a few visions these past months and it was all about you. I saw you carrying the child in your arms but you both were covered in blood. It worried me that it was a sign that you were both dead but after that the visions stopped. And that is why I demanded Sabini to see if you were alive. He refused at first thinking that I was doing something foolish and thinking I would try to hypnotize him. I had to know and… I had to make a deal with him.”
“What… Why did you do that sister?” Jovonka said not liking where this was going.
“I had no other choice,” Isabel said, letting out a small sigh wiping her tears away with both of her hands as she continued, “I came to an agreement with him that I would be bought off by anyone no matter what they want. And if I refuse to do the services then he… he would kill me. I had no other choice Jovonka I did it because I wanted to see you. And now I am here with you.”
Jovonka couldn’t believe what she had just heard coming out from her own flesh and blood.
This is all a dream… is it not?
“Isabel… n-no… how could you do this to yourself? Just so you can come and see me… and let strangers do…do horrendous things to you. Dear sister, I-.”
Suddenly the basement doors clunked open again indicating that Isabel’s time with Jovonka was up. Isabel felt her heart panic not wanting to leave her little sister just yet but she had no other choice.
“Jovonka darling, listen to me I will come back to see you again I promise you,” Isabel said cupping her sister's face with her hands but a sudden force fell on her.
Everything felt slow as the oldest sister shut her eyes closed seeing another strange vision. It wasn’t about Jovonka and the baby but of Alfie himself with peculiar men alongside him. While holding weapons as if they were about to go to war until the sound of a gunshot and several screams were heard as the vision came to an erupted stop. Isabel fully opened her eyes widely breathing in and out not noticing Albert standing behind her.
“Times up witch say your goodbyes now,” he said impatiently while Isabel didn’t hear him the first time.
Without saying nothing back and still stunned on what Isabel witnessed trying to understand what the vision meant.
“I said Times. Up!” Albert exclaimed violently, hoisting her up on her feet by her left arm trying her best to break away from the man’s grip.
“NO. Wait, Jovonka! Please, let me have a few more moments with my sister. Please,” pleadingly cried out Isabel looking back at her sister, seeing her weakingly trying to get on her feet but fell on her knees.
“I said 5 minutes. So now, GET GOING!” yelled out the guard tugging on Isabel’s hand leading her back upstairs.
“N...no, sister,” Jovonka tried to call out but her voice was low and weak.
Isabel looked back once more, her eyes forming with water seeing her little sister vulnerable and in such a terrible shape. Once she and Albert made it to the top of the stairs Isabel was shoved to the side while the guard closed the door behind them.
“Can’t you see how weak and sick she looks? Why hasn’t Sabini called a doctor, how dare you all,” yelled out Isabel as a long stream of tears rolled down on her cheeks letting a few wails out as she fell on her knees on the wooden floor.
Albert ignored the crying woman walking past by her, not having time to hear the woman’s sorrows. Other onlookers didn’t say anything while they saw Isabel cry, not bothering to go and comfort her. Though there was one within the crowd that came to her side.
“Isabel, oh my child,” said the old maid, Edna gently putting her hands on top of her shoulders trying to calm her down, “What happened to Jovonka? Is she alright?”
“She looks dreadful Edna, so terribly awful I tell you. She’s like a living corpse that hasn’t been fed for days, never has once been outside for months, no water or food… oh gods Edna. We have to get the hell out of this place, this can’t go any further especially that Jovonka has a child.
Edna’s eyes then grew in shock when she heard that Jovonka had a baby growing inside her stomach, not wanting to imagine the things that Sabini would do once the baby was born. Knowing full well that he wants to throw it away like it's not a living human being.
“Isabel, that’s… that can’t be, we have to get you girls out of here as quickly as possible before the baby arrives. Who knows what Sabini will do once Jovonka gives birth to the little baby, and I know for sure he wants the baby disposed of.”
“I know Edna, but I saw a new vision when I touched Jovonka’s face, and it wasn’t about her this time. It was Alfie… I think… he’s still alive but he is not alone as I saw him,” Isabel said looking at the old woman, her eyes red from all of the crying.
Edna gave a confused look at the young woman not understanding what Isabel was saying.
“My dear, what are you on about? But Alfie is gone, we saw him get killed in front of us but it’s impossible that he is still out there,” Edna said, trying to lower her voice not wanting any of Sabini’s men to hear their conversation.
Isabel slowly got on her feet while Edna looked around while Isabel walked her way down the small red hallways while Edna followed behind her making their way to a more private area. They passed through many rooms that were mostly occupied by both sex workers and male customers doing whatever they were doing behind closed doors. They then found one room not being used and Edna and Isabel made their way inside, closing the door gently being.
“Tell me more about Alfie and what else did you see in this new vision of yours?” Edna said, sitting down on the soft queen sized bed waiting for Isabel to continue on.
“It was all quick, but I did get a glimpse of his face, it was really him but he had company with him. Some group of men that were wearing elegant suits, with peaky caps, and weapons like they were going to the battlefields. And there were sudden screams and a gunshot that was heard and that’s where it stopped Edna… I think Alfie is coming to rescue us. I think this is what the vision is maybe telling us, but the question is when will that day come?”
Edna stayed quiet when this was all being said, sensing some faith that Alfie is alive and will be coming for them with some help from these new strangers. Not knowing if these will new Allie’s to Alfie and if they were trustworthy to him. Only time will tell and at the moment they have to wait and see what really they should be thinking of is Jovonka who they need to look after. Especially now that Edna knows that Jovonka’s child will at no time be born too soon or later.
“We have to speak with Sabini about your sister not being in good health and must be fed properly for both her and the baby’s well being. That bastard devil, how I would like to just place my hands around that abominable neck and choke him to death. He will pay for his sins Isabel knowing now that Mr. Solomon’s is out for not only us but for Sabini. Knowing what he has done to his beloved Jovonka, Sabini will face his judgment day and it will be a painful one,” Edna coldly said, to which Isabel agreed with the old woman completely.
“Alfie will get his revenge from Sabini, we will all see that. That bastard will pay for everything that he has done to all of us. All the pain he inflicted on us all and I will speak with him even if I have to get hurt physically knowing he has to hear what I want for my sister and her baby. He’ll have to obey my orders even if he won’t like it,” Isabel then said, feeling her hands turn into hard fists really wanting to hurt Sabini with all of her anger she has been building inside of her.
“Darling, I know you have a lot of anger towards that devil, but I worry for you. I don't want either you or your sister to get hurt. I know you will sacrifice anything for Jovonka’s sake but I also want you to not be physically unwell. But please just be careful and whatever that wop says and he will refuse your requests but you will force him to make your requests come true, yes?” Edna said finally grabbing both of Isabel's hands bore her’s and nodded her head in agreement.
You will pay for this Sabini… as well as your dogs… none of you will be safe for what will come for you all…

Arrow House, Warwickshire
“Any trace of my beloved this time Tommy? I hope your people got something this time mate before I lose me fucking mind,” Alfie said in a bothered manner looking out at the big windows overseeing the big grass field in front of him as he continued tapping his left foot for the millionth time.
Thomas said nothing for a while knowing well enough what he would say the same answer to Alfie since the search for Jovonka started on the first day. He has done everything they did in a search party, going through other areas within Birmingham, asking Johnny Dog for any reports but they will always return with empty hands, Arthur, John, and the youngest Shelby brother Finn were busy getting answers out from Mason as much as they could. Even if it meant to punch, kick, and use tools on him that has been going on for weeks and months. Agony after agony Mason had some strength in him knowing he had lost so much blood from his fingernails, his right eye becoming blacker than it previously was before, his lips turned purple and puffy like a balloon. He could almost move his lips when he tried to speak pleading for the Shelby brothers to let him go and he won't say a thing. But even if he would say those words over and over there won't be a chance for him to get out of their restraints. And so while everyone that Thomas knew about and hired some people he knew and can be trusted did their part on this mission he knew Alfie would be growing more impatiently, angry, frustrated, and most of all he worried for his friend's sanity. Fearing that Alfie could lose it at any time if he didn’t get his beloved back in time seeing how important she is to him.
Tommy didn’t say anything as he filled a glass cup full of whiskey while having a lit cigarette between his thin lips knowing what he'll say next won’t go so well.
“Your silence speaks very loudly and it tells me that it does mean that your boys haven’t gotten any luck again hmm?” Alfie said taking a small inhale breath through his nostrils knowing fully well he has to hear the same words once more.
“Alfie, we are doing everything we can to find your woman. Arthur, John, Finn, and myself have tried to take as much information as we can out from Mason, but he has been refusing to tell us more on where they have taken Jovonka and her sister. I know this upset yo-.”
Alfie, using his cane as support, suddenly knocked out a tray of leftover food he ate earlier in the day with shattered glass spreading throughout the floor. Tommy didn’t flinch or be bothered by his friend's actions for one bit, seeing he was used to this type of behavior. The Shelby sat down on one of the couches taking another drag from his cigarette while holding his glass drink with his left hand letting out a small cloud of smoke from his mouth.
“I’m sorry Alfie, truly… I know what you're going through and feeling. If I was in your place, if I lost Grace and Charlie I would’ve lost me head by now and eventually would have killed myself already. Just so this invulnerable pain could go away, but you're stronger than that Alfie I know you are. I will bring her back I promise you, trust me when I say this eh?” Said Thomas looking at the Jewish king as he stood quietly saying nothing for a moment.
Tommy leaned his back against the couch, taking a long sip from his glass of whiskey until finally Alfie spoke out.
“I can’t go on like this Tommy… I need her here close in me arms, that smile of hers, her lips… God. Sabini is goin’ to fucking pay for everything he has done to all of us. The pain he’s inflicting on us all is hard to ignore and to take away, the only way that this can be stopped is him being dead and having my Jovonka and Isabel back to me. That wop you all have been keepin’ captive I would like to have a word with him. Knowing that I can get answers out of his mouth if I’m there in front of his presence.”
“Alfie, don’t you think it’ll be a bit of a risk to be out there seeing that they know by now that Mason and Liam are still missing. And I’m sure that Sabini has sent more of his men to look for them along with orders to still look for Elena. It’s best if you stay here without endangering you and Elena more, we will force Mason to talk about where they took Jovonka an-.”
“No!” Alfie said echoing out abruptly inside Thomas's office room, while giving a sharp glare back as he continued, “I have been stuck inside this house for far too long. And you sitting there tellin’ me to stay put is not goin’ to make me feel more at ease while my Jovonka is still out there with that fuckin’ wop! So no Tommy, I will not take your word and I would rather give up my life away to both Isabel and my woman than me fuckin’ self. Even if it means to get meself killed just to see everyone that I love safe and alive.”
The Shelby said nothing once Alfie finished speaking knowing deep inside his gut he agreed with everything that the Jewish gangster had said. Thomas has risked his life multiple times before, firstly there were his brothers, being there for them whenever they got into risky situations, next of course was Polly, being both an aunt and a mother figure to everyone before and after the war and when Thomas’s mother died. And most importantly of all, was Grace and his son, knowing his father and husband instincts would kick in at any moment if they were put in danger. Knowing he also sacrifice his life first before anyone else just to also see everyone he loves well and alive.
Alfie walked across the room where he then grabbed a glass cup while he rested his cane against the small brown table stand. He quietly stared at the clear item in his hand as flashes of Jovonka’s smile, that laugh he fell in love with, her eyes that turned bright amber whenever they both became intimate in the bedroom, came into view before his eyes. How he wished he could hear her, touch her, and see her at this moment once more. Alfie then started to tighten his hand around the delicate item, almost to the point of breaking it with all of his strength. But he then relaxed his hand and put the item down on top of the table stand letting out a slow exhale through his thick nostrils.
“I will not stop saying this to you my friend,” Thomas then said, breaking the silence as he went on, “I will bring Jovonka and Isabel back home to you no matter how long the search will take. My brothers and my men are doing everything they can to find any trace of any kind. We will make Mason talk knowing that he’ll have to break at some point in time.”
Alfie didn’t say much once more, he instead grabbed his cane and made his way to sit down on another couch beside the table stand. Letting out a long steady breath looking out at the open green field in front of his view. There then was a knock on the door which Thomas then called out to whoever it was.
“Come in.”
Frances came inside the room, noticing the mess upon the wooden floor which she just ignored.
“Mr. Shelby, I’m sorry to interrupt you but your brothers would like to speak with you. They said it is urgent and important,” she said but before Thomas could speak the door suddenly swung open seeing John, Arthur, and Finn making their way inside.
“Tommy, you have to come back with us to the docks righ’ now. It’s Mason, he escaped from Johnny Dog’s but it is righ’ fuckin’ now,” said Arthur in a desperate tone looking between his brother and Solomon’s.
Tommy’s eyes grew wide in shock as he looked back at Alfie, which he also had a shooked up face knowing that the prisoner was their only hope to find answers about Jovonka and Isabel whereabouts. Without losing a heartbeat, both Shelby and the Jewish King got on their feet in no time making their way out of the office room. While on their way out of the Arrow House, Tommy got his black coat and peaky gray hat while his brothers started the vehicle in no time.
“Frances, tell Grace that I'll be back soon, and make sure to lock every door in the house and do not let anyone in you understand?” He said to the maid that she only nodded her head in agreement, “Righ’ Mr. Solomon's, you stay here for your own safety.”
“No Tommy, I am comin’ alon’ with you mate, there is not chance that I am not goin’ to let that fuckin’ wop get far away. He is the only thin’ that we can get close to Jovonka. Now then, do you want to waste more time here and tellin’ me to stay here like a fuckin’ little boy or should we get on our marry way before it gets any darker?”
Thomas knew there was no way in convincing the Jewish King to stay at the house, to which at this point he knew he lost the battle in this one. Before they could step a foot out of the house, Thomas noticed Little Elena from behind Alfie. The little girl looked on with concern in her eyes, not knowing what was going on in front of her.
“Alfie, where are you going? Is everything alright?” Elena said, walking her way to Alfie’s side as she heals the man’s large hand against her ‘s.
Alfie carefully knelt down while supporting himself against his cane, which he successfully did and continued on speaking to Elena.
“Yes everything’ is fine my dear, I am just goin’ to go somewhere with Mr. Shelby that is very important. But don’ you worry love, I will come back as soon as possible;e. I promise you,” he said hoping that this will make Little Elena feel less worried but she still kept pushing on.
“Does it have to do with my sisters? Are they found at last?” She questioned with some glimmer of hope in her voice hoping that the nightmare was over.
“My sweet Elena, I promise you that you will see your sisters again and yes it has somethin’ to do with them. But don’t you worry so much about it yea? I will be back soon,” he said, giving a small smile to her while she returned the gesture and gave the man a hug.
From outside, John interrupted this tender moment with the honk of the car making Alfie grumble under his breath.
“Come on then, we are wastin’ fuckin’ time out here!” Shouted out John, getting more bothered by the second if they don’t move out quickly.
“Alfie, we have to go now, I’m sorry Elena excuse my idiot brother for saying a foul word in front of you. Me and Alfie have to go now we will be back soon won't we Mr. Solomon’s?” Thomas said looking back at the Camden Town king agreeing with the Birmingham Shelby.
When they both said their last goodbyes both Alfie and Thomas made their way to the car, sitting on the backseat of the motor car with Arthur and Finn. Once everyone was inside, John turned the vehicle on and made their way quickly to the docks, while Alfie could only hope they would find the escaped prisoner in time.
Hopefully that bastard hasn’t gone far away from here…
****
Once they made it to the docks, all of the Shelbys brothers and Alfie made their way out of the car, feeling furious to hear the news that Mason was let go easily under Johnny Dog’s watch. Knowing he was someone that Tommy has trusted for many years since he has known him. As they walked through the gray pavement road, they found Johnny Dog talking with Charlie with other groups of men knowing they were in a heap of trouble. They also realized that Alfie was with them, seeing that
“Tommy, I’m so so sorry, we did everything that you have told us to do, but this time I didn’t he would escape in this wa-.”
“How the fuck did you let him out of your sites you bunch of idiots!” Exclaimed Alfie surprising both Tommy and his brothers thinking he is now the leader of all this but they let him continue on, “He was the only key witness into finding my Jovonka and you fuckers let him out of your sites.”
The group of men didn’t speak one word including both Johnny Dog and Charlie already, which they agreed that they did let the prisoner go away that easily. They have been keeping Mason in a very hidden place where no one would hear his painful screams while they would interrogate him for answers. But this time they all made the mistake of keeping more men to look after the Italian member.
“We are very, very, truly sorry Tommy, and mostly to you Mr. Solomon’s. I’m not sure how he managed to get his way out but you have my word when I say this. We will get him back but right now we have to track him down before he gets out of Birmingham,” said Johnny Dog, while Alfie said nothing, still feeling angry towards Tommy’s right hand man.
“Johnny is right, we have to split into groups from here on out,” said Tommy also sounding a bit bothered for what had just happened but he continued on with his next plans, “Right Charlie you take a couple of men to the north side see if you can ask anyone if they have seen Mason, Johnny, you take to the west and do the same and see if there is any traces of home, Arthur, you, John and Finn go to the east and look around to see if also anyone has seen him, and lastly me and Mr. Solomon’s will go deep into the deep forest’s far to the northern side of Birmingham. Keep your eyes sharp and head up, and keep your weapons at bay if you see the prisoner. Try not to aim him straight to the heart, we need him alive, yes?”
Everyone including his brothers nodded their heads as every group scattered to where they were told to go. Johnny Dog and his group of men loaded their weapons, as did Arthur, John, and Finn doing the same. All the while Alfie remained quiet seeing in the gray far distance where the little river canal was connected. He could still remember that terrible night, Jovonka, Isabel, and Edna looking terrified for their lives while he was held back being helpless and weak. The way Sabini touched her face while he cut her face while Jovonka screamed in pain, how he could go back in time and would kill that devil Italian in no time. Alfie closed his eyes trying to take that image away from his mind, while Tommy came to his side making him come back in the present.
“Alfie, are you feelin’ alright?” He said but the Jewish king stayed quiet still looking forward in front of him while the Peaky continued on, “we are about to head out now, before it's late. I suggest we get going. We’ll get him back. I have promised you that and Mason will have to speak, you'll see.”
“I know you have been Tommy, but I have one request and you will have to allow me to do it,” said Alfie making eye contact with the Birmingham king.
“And what is that Alfie?”
“Once that Italian runaway gets captured, let me do the talking. He will refuse to talk to me at first, but I will bring straight hell upon him. I don't care how much he has to live, or how much blood he will bleed out, I’m going to cut every life force he has in him to get the answers that I want him to tell me. And I want your men and your brothers out of it, do we have a deal my friend?” He said Tommy didn’t say anything but only nodded his head in agreement.
Once everyone was fully prepared Johnny Dog and his group left to the west while Charlie and his men left their way to the north, John, Finn, and Arthur made their way to the east, and that left only Tommy and Alfie to which they also left the banks in no time. Once they left the river banks, they were off to find Mason into the deep woods off in the countryside, Alfie only hoped that they would get to Mason as quickly as possible.
Saw my friend @thequeenofthewinter do this and decided to join in the fun 😁

How many lives does it take to protect those that you love so dearly? That’s what Josephine had to deal with when she decided to help out James and his League of The Damned. But in reality, the only loved ones that she considered as her family was mostly James. Her real family was nothing much to talk since the only memory that she could remember. Was that her father wanted a boy first and not her. So as all parents do best when their first born is a disappointment, is to throw them in an orphanage never to hear or see them ever again. She was only 6 years old feeling like she was nothing and to fend for herself at such a young age. The caretakers of the orphanage came and went, one’s were caring and kind of she was lucky. While there were some that weren’t pleasant to be around especially when things happened behind closed doors.
There was this certain event that Josephine will never forget, and something that has always haunted her for the rest of her life. She was at that time 10, already knowing the dark side of this world. Where she now knew that nothing seemed bright and wonderful like in those fairytale books. One night she was called upon the head master of the house, thinking that she was finally going to a new home or not surprisingly seeing her parents again. However all two thoughts were all completely false and what she got instead only scared her so immensely.
“Now my dear, the reason I called you here this late at night. Well, I have a little surprise for you and you deserve such a gift for a young girl like yourself,” said the headmaster Vernon, to which Josephine don’t know how to feel in that moment.
“Oh why thank you sir, that is very kind of you. What is the surprise sir?” Said young Josephine feeling excited on the inside.
“Well you have to close your eyes first, if you don’t want to ruin the surprise yes?” He then said giving off a smile that was just a devil smile in disguise.
But for Josephine she didn’t know nothing of the way this world worked in such a wicked way. So as all little girls do is do as what they are told to do. And as she closed her eyes with a small smile across her face, Vernon then got on his feet. As he made his way towards the young girl, he suddenly started to think of sinful thoughts of her. He felt a hard bulge forming between his trousers trying his best to hold himself in place. Once he stood in front of her, he did what no child should do at such a young age.
It felt like time was going slowly, as Josephine felt the painful pressure between her. She has cried out her lungs for God knows how long. All the while Vernon did his dirty deeds as he continued to do his filthy and abominable actions. After that night, Josephine was never that same pure and innocent girl ever again, feeling like her life felt meaningless. Knowing that this is the life that she had to live through knowing that her mind and body will always be abused.
Years later once she was old enough to find a life for herself. She didn’t know where to go or ask for help. Certainly her parents will not want her back since it has been 14 years without seeing them. Josephine thought that they have already erased her from their minds a very long time ago. And maybe, they might have finally bared a son that they have waited for so long. Knowing that Josephine was none existing and that her baby brother was the first born and not her. However she did ended up living with the street whores that welcomed her with open arms. From young to old women of every kind she never once participated in any erotic activities. She would instead serve drinks to any drunken men who who were looking to have a good fuck and suck. Just like how Helga, the head owner of the brothal house would say. She was the reason for Josephine to not be apart of that world for her own safety. Though Helga has noticed different men that would look and try to catch her attention. Seeing how naturally beautiful she really was but no matter what Helga was there for Josephine including her daughter Winter.
“Why haven’t you decided to leave this place forever? You know you’re old enough to do whatever you please and be able to find a safer place,” Winter said to Josephine as they were getting ready to walk around the marketplace one morning.
“Sweet Winter, it’s not that I want to leave this place or find a safer place. I’m still here because I promised your mother to take care of you and besides I feel my life is well here with you all. Trust me it sounds delusional but this has been the only place I could call home. Your mother has been nothing but kind to me ever since she welcomed me in. I wouldn’t want then what I have right now,” Josephine said giving the young girl a small smile.
Suddenly they heard the a loud bang from the first floor making both Winter and Josephine jump in fright. Until they heard a gruffly deep voice that they would assume come from a man.
“People who do not know me soon come to understand I do not have any sense,” said the new voice while Winter slowly set aside the hanging sheets from the balcony revealing the deep voice.
Josephine peaked out next to the little girl, seeing a good view of the man with a black top hat and a heavy looking black coat. He seemed threatening and yet found him intriguing just the way he looked and Josephine noticed two think tattoo like lines on them side of his neck. Those blue eyes that caught her own eyes were something to mesmerize. The mysterious man then continued to say threatening things to Helga that she found chilling to the bone.
“Now please do not misunderstand the situation, you send me 12 men, I will return you 12 sets of testicles in a bag, and we can watch your little whores devour them together, before I chop off your trotters and boil them.” Once he finished speaking Helga just stood quiet not saying another word to which the man in black went on, “two hours.”
Winter and Josephine slowly looked at each other not knowing what to think or make of this man.
“You. I remember you. I’ve heard the stories,” called out Helga to the stranger as she continued on, “if I give you one of my girls I will never see her again.”
This made Josephine gasp out loudly until she quickly covered her mouth with her hand, hearing nothing but silence. She then looked down once again seeing Helga’s eyes looking up towards her, which this also made the stranger looking up as well. She now saw his full face, handsome, serious, a short cut beard and noticeably there was scar on his left eye that looked unpleasant. Both of their gazes met which Josephine couldn’t seem to take her eyes away from. He then finally broke the stare as he looked to Helga once more making his way out of the house.
“And you’re right about what you said earlier Helga,” called out the man turning to see the head of the brothal house to up the second floor towards Josephine once more, “But be punctual.”
And just like that he was out of the house, leaving a confused Josephine in her thoughts of what just happened.
Who is he???…

Later That Night
It was another cold dark night, Josephine walked along the sidewalk of a canal making her way back from getting some brandy for the customers. It was for the most part, nice to be out and away from the brothal house smelling the fresh air and the sense of freedom in the mix. She knew deep down that she can leave anytime but where could she really go from here? No one in this putrid town wouldn’t want a street girl into their homes. It would be such madness if she tried to find her family not knowing if they were still living around London or not. That is the least thing she would plan to do if she ever left Winter and Helga behind, knowing they have done so much for her. Since the day she came in Josephine knew it would be a mixer of an either a sanctuary or an endless hell that would have to get use too. One time however she almost relieved an incident from her younger years once more until she fought back as she injured the drunken man never seeing him again after that night. That is why Helga always had her eye on her like if she was her other daughter she had never had.
Walking as quickly as she could Josephine felt an unsettling feeling like if someone was getting too close to her from behind. Josephine tried to shook the feeling on still facing up ahead seeing the house from where she was. Suddenly she heard some heavy footsteps getting closer to her and that’s when she picked up the pace. The clicking of her heels echoed through the night feeling her heart beating faster and faster. There was a shadow appearing ahead of her and without thinking she turned a sharp right into a small alley way between two brick buildings. She didn’t realized that she was jogging at this point hearing the same footsteps catching up to her now. Suddenly she felt strong hands grabbing both of her arms hearing both of the bottles clasp onto the floor. When she was about to scream out for help, she felt a large hand covering her small mouth pining her hard against the wall. Her muffling screams were covered wrapping her hands around the man’s hands trying to break away.
“Shut up you little whore, if you want to make things difficult well, my darling, you’ll get the end of the blade,” said the man threateningly pressing the blade gently against her left cheek.
“She looks lovely isn’t she mate, oh you are going to like this love,” said the other man giving off a smug smile.
Josephine stood still like a stone, feeling one the mans hands grabbing onto her breast inappropriately trying very hard to not feel such a disgusting act. He then placed sloppy kisses all over her milky white neck as she squeezed her eyes shut hoping this nightmare will end soon. However, there was a third person not too far behind from the two perverts not knowing what was to come for them both. The first was shoved backwards quickly and in a split second his throat was cut widely open feeling the chill wind blowing against it. The other man not knowing his friend was already killed was grabbed from behind his neck and was quickly pinned against the brick wall. Letting go of Josephine catching her breath until she noticed who came to her rescue.
Its him… the man in black…
“No! Stop! Let me go, I wont say nothing sir, I swear,” the man pleaded out hoping he could live another day from this.
The stranger didn’t say nothing, for a moment as he took out his curve sharp blade now pressing it against the mans thick neck. Without saying another word, he swiftly cut the mans throat hearing the amount of blood gushing out of him. Josephine looked away closing her eyes while hearing a loud thud landing on the pavement floor. She didn’t dare opened her eyes not wanting to what type of scene she will looked in front of her.
“There is dangerous people late at this hour, and for a woman like you should know better,” said the man in black turning to face her way seeing she had her eyes still closed.
She didn’t say nothing being too frighten to see him eye to eye. Though he gently went up to her stopping inched away from her.
“You can open your eyes now, you are safe now,” he gruffly said to which Josephine slowly opened her eyes catching a hint of herbs and the smell of alcohol on him.
She slowly looked up at his way feeling chills running all over her body not believing he was standing very close to her. However strangely enough she felt this sense of being safe around this man. Knowing she has only seen him one time and suddenly Josephine seem to trust this man so quickly.
“Thank… thank you for saving me. But I must get back to the brothal before they start questioning where I might be,” she said slowly walking away from him.
“I don’t think that won’t be necessary,” he suddenly said making her stop in her tracks, “it’s best if you stay beside me and come home with me instead.”
She slowly turned around to face him once more not believing what he was saying.
“Why would I go with you since I know so little about you? Especially when you threaten Helga earlier today about boiling her trotters. Something that I would surely wouldn’t want to hear coming out of you,” she said standing her ground ground which he didn’t say or showed any expression.
“Hmm. You have a strong spirit, something I find amusing and yet you can’t seem to escape the horrors that you had endeared since you were young,” he said this made Josephine eyes grow wide in shock not believing in what she just heard him say.
“You don’t know anything about what I have gone through when I was a child,” she said her voice sounding shakily feeling a lump forming on her throat, “how dare you to know my personal memories. And how do you know this?”
He didn’t say nothing for a moment he only gave her a look that she had to look away. Then he came up to her once more but this time she took a step backwards.
“I see it in your eyes you are broken, lost, abandoned, and yet you seem to be use to the pain. It is something that I myself see in you, we both have faced things the way this wicked world works. Even though we try to ignore the scars they still haunt us over and over. And yet you still find a way to continue forward even if it hurts and I understand,” he then said not realizing that Josephine started ti shed some tears.
She quickly wiped away the tears with her right hand, not knowing what else to say. He was right she has stood strong all these years knowing the many horrid things that happened in her life she was still here after all. Remembering the few times where she wanted to take her own life but failing once she had second thoughts. Wishing that there were some days she was wiped away from existence.
“I suppose you know what it means to live with such pain and yet your still up on your own two feet,” Josephine said lowering down her eyes wondering why she is still here in front of this man.
“And yet we still fight even though it’s something we don’t like. However, it’s getting late would you like to come with me?” He then asked her knowing it was wrong to say such thing.
Josephine thought if this offer for a while not sure if she should go with him or not. Knowing that she had shared a couple of her own feelings to him not realizing how comfortable she was talking to him.
“How can I be so sure to even trust a man like you?” She said after a moment crossing her arms together against her chest.
“Because I’ll keep you close to me and if someone try’s to ever get close to you they will never live to see another day. I guarantee you that but once you I have gained your trust in me. Now as I’ll repeat myself, would you like to stay out here in the cold or come along with me?”
“Who are you?” Josephine asked which it never bothered her to ask from the beginning.
“Some say I am The London Devil, the Walking Corpse, The Man from Africa, but everyone knows me for being the Son of Horace Delaney. But I am the James Keziah Delaney and you are under my protection. And who are you?”
“Josephine and I still thank you for saving me. Shall we leave from this place?” She then asked to which he just said nothing and turned the other way down the alley. Josephine didn’t say another word and instead followed his lead with her unexpected savior.

ALFIE SOLOMONS MASTERLIST
Camden Town: 1920’s
Out of all the places in the entire country of London, Sylvia and her family had no choice but to stay in a place called Camden Town. They weren’t welcome that was for sure. As none residents, gypsies were considered to be nothing but untrustworthy, scum, and the lowest of the low. Knowing that they have to live and remind themselves that was how they were born and raised.
They had a wonderful life back in their hometown in France. There was a piece of land right off the coast, where it was peaceful, safe, calm, and overall where they were far away from the city. Her father Andre, had a job there as a carpenter but he did get little pay for what it was. The amount of money he would win almost went entire to have food on the table. Until one day the owner decided to let him go swing that his business wasn’t making as much as before. And leaving their lovely home behind they ended up in the city across the ocean.
Even for a family of 6 including Sylvia, it was hard to cope seeing that her mother Kezia, has to take care mostly the baby of the family Kaven. Her two baby sisters Zana and Risa are at the age of heading to their womanhood. Knowing that both of her parents with a heavy heart need to send of their daughters to find good suitors that will take care of them. Sylvia as being the oldest, isn’t fully prepare to have to go with someone she doesn’t even love or know about much. Even for a place like London where everyone wouldn’t even want glimpse her way for one bit.
Once they arrived to their new home a year ago, It was hard to get use to the amount of new surroundings. The tall grass fields were something to enjoy and being around. Thought the amount of strangers passing by with their automobiles was something that bothered the Voltaire family the most. Even through the year they at one point already got use to seeing many travelers and car machines so many times. Seeing that his father was trying his best to find a job around town, it seemed that he wasn’t going anywhere knowing that he was an outcast.
“Papa, maman, why can’t we just leave this place already?” Said Risa in their French tongue while they had late night dinner around the campfire.
“Because your papá my dear has some news to tell you all, and darling please try to speak your English a bit more,” Kezia said while attending the now 6 month old Kaven in one arm poking around the wood for the fire to still be on.
“My dear Kezia please, let them speak the tongue we have been born to learn,” said Andre to her which she just nodded her head quietly until he gave the big news. “My dear girls, I finally found a new job that will finally help us not go without any food on the anymore. And I will start by tomorrow.”
Risa, Zana, and Sylvia all looked at each other as if his father is telling a lie.
“Wait papa, are you certain of this? How did you manage to convince the owner of this new job?” Asked Sylvia not believing what her ears are hearing.
“It is true, and the wonderful thing is a bakery which you all know that I use to make some great bread back home. And I wanted to share with you all that I will start tomorrow,” said Andre feeling a lot of hope for such a new opportunity that he has been waiting for so long.
“Papa what wonderful news, but does the owner know that you are well a gypsy?” Sylvia said feeling worried that if the owner of the shop finds out that they are outsiders.
“I only mentioned that we are a family of 6 and that we have been poor for a very long time. He didn’t ask for my background and instead he understood about our situation. He saw me as a human being and not a stranger, and he gave me the job right away,” Andre said though in reality the owner was more then just a simple baker and something that he had to keep to himself.
“We can finally go back home, to our small and beautiful beach again,” said Risa having an excited smile on her face knowing that she had enough of this place.
“We will go back home my children, I promise you all that with as much money as I can collect we will go back. But that is all tonight we should all get some rest now, goodnight my girls,” said Andre getting up on his feet while Risa and Zana did the same.
As every made their way to their individual tents Sylvia heard her name called out by her father.
“Yes father, is there something wrong?” She anxiously said hoping that it was nothing bad.
“Nothings wrong my dear, me and your mother wanted to talk with you alone without the girls being here,” her father said which Sylvia was confused with why she needed to be there alone.
Though Sylvia didn’t want to question it to much she instead took a seat on top of a wooden log.
“What is it that you and mother want to speak about with me me?”
Both her mother and father looked at each other without any words. Knowing that what her father will say next will make their oldest daughter upset.
“My lovely dear, promise me that you will not be in what I will say to you next. Just always removed that I and your mother love you with all of our hearts and soul,” Andre said as he placed a gentle hand on top of Sylvia’s left knee which she just stood quiet, “The owner of the bakery requested that if you would like to work for him as his own personal book keeper. And that he would like to meet you tomorrow, I know this sounds much but I also think and pray that maybe this man could be a potential suitor for you. It’ll be a way for you to have a good life for you knowing that we want what’s best you my love.”
“Father aren’t you hearing yourself? You think this man that you just met think he could bring me happiness not knowing if he might have any bad intentions? No, I will not work for him even if the money seems fair but I won’t accept it,” Sylvia said not believing in what she is hearing.
How could her mother agree to this not knowing what type of men could be dangerous out there especially if they are not gypsy by blood.
“Sylvia please, listen to your father. What if he is right, what if this man could give you everything you could ask for? And not live the way we do? I want also the best for you and for your sisters and Kaven. I don’t want to see any of you continue living like we are doing at this moment. Just go with your father and see the owner for yourself. But don’t forget to always keep your guard up my dear like we have always taught you,” Kezia begged knowing that she didn’t like where this was going but she also hoped for something good to come from this man.
The oldest daughter only sighed in defeat and agreed to go with his father to the bakery. Knowing that whatever this man is offering for her and her father is for good fortune.

The Next Morning
Sylvia and her father walked in a busy and noisy street as they made their way to where the bakery was located. From being on the fields for a year long this was more than what she expected. Some horses pulling wagons, men of all ages covered in dust and black powder from head to toe and the smell of coal and steel was in the air. It was a busy morning as they picked up the pace, trying to get to their meeting with the owner of the bakery in time. Sylvia wore something that would look presentable and clean though she ended up wearing one her mothers old black long sleeve dress. Which she was grateful to wear but also it made her look like if she was going to meet her doom. As some time went by they finally made it to the place where Andre knocked on two wooden doors a couple of times. The door was then opened which they were greeted by a young man who was in his mid to late 20’s.
“Mr. Voltaire, I presume yes?” The man asked which Andre took his brown cap off from his head.
“Yes I am he, and I also brought with me my daughter Sylvia. Does your owner want to see us already?” Andre asked while he wiped a bit of sweat that formed in front of his forehead.
“Mr. Solomon’s does want to see you both already. Come in,” said the young man directing them more deeper inside the brown lit shop.
There were mountains of barrels stacked from side of side, the smell of fresh dough being made and oddly enough there was a hint of of rum witching the same smell. Making their way to another pair of wooden doors, there was another long hallway with many men working from one station to another. Until one particular man was making their way towards Sylvia and Andre the one that everyone feared the most throughout the town of Camden.
“Mr. Solomon’s, this is Andre the one who was asking for a job yesterday. He wants to speak with you,” Ollie said which his boss didn’t say a thing until he was standing in front of them.
“Righ’ well Mr. Voltaire, a very good mornin’ to you sir. And yes i would to still go over some discussions with you about the job. And where I me manners, but who is this lovely woman here with you?” Said Alfie looking at his direction towards Sylvia which she just stood quiet but felt warm inside.
“My daughter Mr. Solomon’s, Sylvia Voltaire she is the oldest of the three. I brought her along to see if you wanted to still find someone with who to keep your booking. And I thought my Sylvia would be a good use in your business sir. She might not have the experience but we would be grateful if you can teach her,” Andre said hoping that it would convince Alfie to bring her in.
Alfie was quiet for a moment until he looked at Sylvia’s way looking at her up and down. She didn’t know what else to say or do she only could stay still while the bearded man thought for a moment or two if she looked like a good fit for a place like this. Though something did caught her eye about him, which it was odd to say the least. He seemed grumpy, broad, intelligent, and overall very attractive. Like from the looks of his body structure he seems to know what he does for a living and that this place itself has been booming for quite a while. She also caught a glimpse of his right hand with a small tattoo crown not knowing if it means something or just for display. Feeling like time has gone by so slowly, Alfie then finally spoke up.
“She will do, don’ you worry Mr. Voltaire, Ollie here will teach your daughter what she needs to do with me book keeping’s. Don’t you worry, I know she will be a good helping around here,” said Alfie giving a small smirk at Sylvia which she just bow her head in acknowledgment.
“Thank you Mr.Solomon’s for the opportunity, I promise to be of great use to you and for your work environment. But I also would like to thank you more for giving my father this job, we are grateful to find someone like you sir,” Sylvia said hoping that she didn’t sound very overly thankful.
“It’s nothin’ love and for next time don’t call sir or Mr. Solomon’s. Form now on yea, you will address as alfie and nothin’ more alrigh’?” He said while he liked her already for how polite she is.
As the morning went by, it suddenly became 2 o’ clock in the afternoon. Both Sylvia and her father have seen and learned so much in just almost a whole day. Andre knew what to expect since Mr. Solomon’s told him that he had an underground business that not even the coppers don’t know about. Though it did worry for the safety of Sylvia, and the rest of his family. Wondering if this was the right thing to bring her daughter to such a place and to be part of gangster organization. It was a lot to think for Andre to take in and he didn’t know if he should continue this path or not.
“Well now you and your daughter can go home for today, but starting tomorrow right’ is when it will get serious. And Mr. Voltaire is it possible if I could have a word alone with Sylvia,” Alfie said to which Andre felt nervous to be asked such a question but he did agree.
Sylvia and Ollie didn’t mind what time of day it was, as they were mostly bust sorting papers and writing down on the big note books. She did manage to learn quickly right away seeing that it was just writing many sorts of name items and to calculate how many sales were being sold. Knowing that she didn’t speak much English and her reading wasn’t the best, Sylvia was determined to not give up on this opportunity. Knowing that this will help not only for herself but for her family as well even if it means that she needs to stay some long nights. While she tried to know what papers have to properly be placed on the door to the small office was opened seeing her father in the entrance.
“Sylvia, umm… Mr. Solomons would like to have a moment with you,” Andre said to her in their native tongue which she looked confused but she didn’t ask another word.
Once they made it to Alfie’s office, which the oldest daughter was a bit confused as to why Alfie needs tor see her. Though once inside, he saw him sitting on the side of his big long desk filled with many piles of papers, the smell of whiskey, and dust above the atmosphere. He didn’t notice their presence right away, as Andre ands Sylvia walked up in front of the desk.
“Ah, righ’ Sylvia. I would like to speak to you about your position here in me bakery. It’s nothing bad if that’s what you are thinking love, but please have a seat,” Alfie said standing up on his feat and guiding the gypsy girl to sit.
She looked back at her father for a moment, which he just gave her a look of reassurance and that everything is fine. Though Andre and Alfie did have a talk earlier about having to bring Sylvia to this business. But it is something that Alfie himself that should tell her and it gave Andre some hope.
“I’ll leave you both alone, I’ll wait for you outside my dear,” said Andre lastly making his way out of the room hearing the door closed shut.
“You’re wondering why I need here alone with me love, and I’ll explain everything in a moment. But firstly righ’, what do you think of this job overall?” Alfie then asked taking his seat once more letting out a low sigh grunt.
“Well it is quite easy actually, however even if my English isn’t very well and my reading is a bit low I don’t see why I should not stop coming here and learn more. I honestly am doing this for my father and my family, we have been poor for a year. We had to leave home from France because well, my fathers old job wasn’t doing no good, and that is why we are here in London. Faith has always been on our side and I believe fate has come to us so quickly because of you Alfie. And I want to say again that we are very grateful that you accepted us as hard workers and not something else,” Sylvia said while Alfie listen to everything that almost what Andre said to him and he knew that this family was in need to help.
“I am sorry to hear that love, I can’ imagine that you all had to move across the ocean to land here. But I also want to say this. Your father and I have come to an agreement about you being here in me bakery, but promised him that I’ll be keeping an eye on you including my partner Ollie. As you can see yea, there are many men in this place as you have noticed. However, yea, if they ever try to lay a finger on you even give you the eye to your way, they are fuckin’ dead and will never see the light of day ever again. I know it sounds harsh for you but it is a promise that I am keeping for yous and your dear old father. How does that sound to you lass?” Alfie said seeing Sylvia’s facial expression change to confusion.
“Wait, my, my father told you all about us, but why would you try to help us?” Sylvia said trying to understand why her father would mention about everyone in the family.
“Your father asked for a favor he feels that if you are around with me you will be safe. And I could be very protective when it comes to having women around in me shop. But you don’t have to worry about that love, and well you all seem to be good people and I have been at my lowest before and I know how that life is like. However righ’, you and your family are under me eyes now starting tomorrow and showing you my humbleness towards you all and you deserve it,” alfie said in the end giving a small smile at Sylvia which she did return the smirk.
“Thank you Alfie, but how can we repay you back? This is just so much to take in.”
“No need to my dear, besides a pretty woman like you is worth saving and having around,” he added to which Sylvia could only blush at his comment.
“Again thank you Mr. Solomons. I mean, Alfie, but I will see you in the morning along with my father. But may I ask you a question and don’t take this in a wrong way. Why me and not another woman?” She asked knowing that there is more girls out there that would interest Alfie more than her.
“Is that really a question to ask treacle? You want to know the truth of why I see something in you than any other woman in this town?” He said standing up on his feet once again resting his hands on top of his hips while Sylvia felt a lump forming in her throat seeing while she sat still. “Because you’re different, and I like to know who you really are truly Sylvia Voltaire. And well, maybe if you would like to go out sometime to dinner with me if that’s what you wish for that is.”
Sylvia had nothing much to say but she stood quiet for a moment. Her fathers boss is asking her for dinner and wants to get to know her better is something out of this word. No man has ever said such a thing to her before until now. Especially Alfie that was not of gypsy origin but is willing to have some interest in her and wanting to get to know her better.
“Oh… well Alfie I don’t know what to say about all of this. I mean you are the first man to ask me out which that has never happened to me before. Though may I have to think about this, its just its soon to say but I need a moment to give you my word,” she then said hoping that it didn’t bother Alfie for one bit.
But to her surprise, Sylvia didn’t expect to what Alfie had to say next.
“No love please, by all means have all the time that you need. And your righ’, I’m sorry for askin’ out of nowhere. Please forgive me for sounding like an eager prick,” Alfie said knowing that this was a bad idea to ask in the first place.
“No Alfie, you should not apologize its just… you asked me so politely and I think that’s very attractive coming from you,” she said without thinking wishing she could take back what she just said right now.
“Did I now? Well I am flattered to be your first then love. But you should head home now, yea. I’ll see you both here again tomorrow morning. Is it alright if I could escort yous out? If that is fine with you of course?” Alfie said while Sylvia was caught with surprise again.
Is this man gone out of his head???…
“I. Well… yes that would be lovely thank you Alfie,” Sylvia said without stopping herself to which Alfie nodded his head.
As they both made their way outside of the entrance, both Alfie and Sylvia exchanged their last goodbyes. While doing so, she extended her hand out to Alfie both of their hands were clasp together.
“Thank you again Alfie, and see you soon again,” she lastly said feeling her hand against his larger hand feeling butterflies fluttering inside her stomach.
Once they shook hands, she made her way to where her father was waiting, as Alfie looked on seeing Sylvia leave. She then looked back for a moment, giving a small smile towards his way to which he did the same without noticing it himself.
This will be something exciting to look forward to… and I hope it is for the best….

Margate: Two Years Later
Waking up to the sound of the ocean waves was what Sylvia have missed for so long. She never thought she would be close to the sea ever again, but it has finally come true once again. And that was all on Alfie that gave her everything that she could ever wish for. After being at his so call bakery everyday, they both became closer together. And she did ended up going out with Alfie whenever no one was looking or listening especially her father. They did their best to pretend to be just partners from work, but in reality both Sylvia and Alfie started to build a bond together. Having a hard time not wanting to be separated from each other. Whenever he had meetings to attend too or some “errands” to go too, he would tell her to stay for her safety. Though Sylvia did at some point found out that he was this infamous gangster of Camden Town, but it didn’t make her look at him differently. What she cared about the most was the way he cared for her, keeping her safe from harm, and overall being treated like what a girl should be treated. Until now everything was perfect and grateful for everything that this life has given to her and her family. They were given another opportunity to be able to live like actual people, and as for Alfie generosity and humbleness, he did make a propose to Sylvia and her family.
“Sylvia, wake up, wake up, let’s go down to the seashore again. There are so many sea shells here then we have sene back home. Come on wake up,” Risa exclaimed gently tugging on her sisters right hand which she just grunted in reply.
“Hmmm, Risa please, its to early in the morning, can’t you wait later in the afternoon,” Sylvia said in a lazy voice, recasting turning her head the other way.
“Awww your no fun, please sister just this one time. I promise I wont ask you again next time,” she begged again to which Sylvia became quiet for a moment.
“Fine just give me a moment yes?” She mumbled to which she just heard her little sister said “yay” hearing her footsteps fade away.
She suddenly felt a shift on her left side along with a strong arm wrapping around her stomach.
“Good mornin’ my pet,” said a huskily Alfie also trying his best to wake up from his semi sleep.
“Hmm, good morning to you as well my love,” Sylvia said back as they both exchange a long kiss.
She then wrapped her arms around his strong, broad chest as they press their lips closer together.
“Sylvia. Come down please,” Zana called out this time, to which Sylvia groaned in annoyance.
“Well this kiss didn’t last so long as it did last night,” Sylvia joked making Alfie chuckle.
“Well don’t be so disappointed my dove, there is more of that later tonight. I promise you,” he said giving her a cheeky wink
It was has been almost a year of being together since Alfie asked Sylvia to be hers. It shocked her at first but she knew right away that she found her one true love. Even thought they came from different origins their love for each other was nothing to ignore. Alfie embraced Sylvia’s culture he was even willingly to learn French from her which he had approved very well. As for the rest of her family, they ended up having a home build in Margate next to Alfie’s. Which Andre and Kezia felt nothing but grateful towards Alfie’s knowing that this man was sent from the heavens. They have long for some peace and quiet and they their dreams did came true.
“Come on then love, let’s see what today awaits us ahead yea?” Alfie then asked making Sylvia come back to her senses.

TOMMY CONLON MASTERLIST
Honestly we need to talk when can you meet up with me?
These were the exact words that Dahlia had to read through that one single message. Only for it to be something that’ll only bring nothing but disappointment and hurt.
Yea sure maybe tomorrow after I’m off from work of if it’s possible maybe tonight babe if your not tired that is 💖✨💗
She remembered those couple of emojis that she sometimes would send every once in a while to Blake. Hoping that he knew that she was very much in love with him… or did he not see that???
That same night m, both Dahlia and Blake did meet up only it wasn’t just a talk about going on another date or trip of whatnot. It was more of a confession of wether or not Blake wanted to continue on with this relationship with her.
“Look I… I have been feeling like I need a break from both of us. Just need some space, I got work to do, and I just need to be my individual self again. And if you like we can do a break or we can just forget about everything. What do you want to do?”
Dahlia didn’t want to believe what she just heard from him.
What is he talking about us wanting to take a break???
Even after everything they had done together it lead to this. It only made her feel like she was being lied to all this time about him and the relationship. So Dahlia did what any other smart girl would do, just walk away. Even if it did feel like a knife was stabbed straight into her heart.
And now it has been over a couple of months later, Dahlia became another person day in day out. She became interested in pursuing a career in being a nurse and a certified therapist. She never would have thought of being able to achieve Teo goals in such a fast pace.
Even after the biggest heartbreak of her life, she knew that there was so much more out there to see. Though there were times when she would be alone, she wished there would be someone there to be encouraging, happy, and feeling grateful to have a girl like Dahlia. Only she tried her best to ignore such wishful thoughts but those dreams would become tears some nights.
Even though she never gave up on hope and in true love for finding someone to share her thoughts, feelings, success and most of all being important to him.
It’s nothing but foolish and untrue thoughts… there is no one out there for me… ever
“Dahlia, you know that patient in room 30 that came in last night?” Said Dahlia’s co-worker Nike, putting down other patient files on top of the front desk receptionist.
“Yes, I know who you’re talking about. Why, does he need to be checked up again, or take his next meal of the day?”
“Yes to his next meal and no to another thing,” said Nike while he gave her a smirk and a quick wink.
“Oh stop it Nike, are you being serious right now. I’m being professional here right now and what you think this guy seems cute? I don’t think so, he just looks like any other guy that you see in the streets. Besides I told you many times, I am not looking for nobody. I’ve been perfectly busy with finishing getting my Masters in therapy. Why would the hell I be wanting more than what I have right now?”
But all of what Dahlia said wasn’t really all entirely true, knowing deep down she did found the patient very attractive. He did had a bad injury on the side of his head, with some blood coming out from the wound and going in and out of consciousness. He seemed lost to where he was at that moment, while Dahlia attended to his wound with as much care as possible. While trying to clean away the blood as much as she could, the man suddenly grabbed her wrist with such strength that it made her yelp in fright.
“That fucking hurts, get away from me,” he said with that Philly accent, looking straight at Dahlia’s frighten and yet wonderful hazel-honey eyes.
“Hold him down,” said one of the male doctors, while two other male nurses tried to calm him down.
Out of his grasp, Dahlia didn’t notice she wasn’t breathing for air. She was to busy focused on him while the doctors finally gave him a dose to make him relax. Once he fell into a deep sleep, Dahlia slowly walked up next to the now relaxed and peaceful looking man. He looked no more than in his 30’s, blue eyes, very muscular from what she could see through his gray long sleeve shirt, short smooth brown hair, and his face. That face looked like a little boys, soft, innocent, and yet very handsome.
“Sure, sure, dear. I saw how you looked at him last night after Mark gave him a dose to make him fall asleep. You got lucky that he didn’t give you a punch in the face or something much worst. Anyways but tell me, do you think he’s cute?”
Dahlia only gave a look of bothersome to his friend, while she gave a small chuckle.
“Fine. Yes he seemed very cute, are you happy now?” Dahlia said hoping that it’ll satisfy his friends silliness.
”That answer sounded so fake, but whatever. Anyways, miss Dahlia, the patient needs to take his meal and must drink his medication afterwards. Would you be so kind in taking it for me please?” Said Nike he placed a tray of food with the medication on the side.
*******
Dahlia walked her way down the hall on the second floor of the hospital, holding the tray of food with both of her hands. Once she reached room 30, she felt nervous to see him again. Not only of what happened last night but she felt this feeling that she couldn’t really explain. But she ignored it and she quietly knocked the door hoping it wont wake him up. But after three knocks and no answer she let herself in seeing that the patient was taking a nap. Closing the door behind her quietly, she slowly made her way towards him. She sat the tray on the right side of the nightstand, setting the fork and knife on each side. Dahlia felt goosebumps with no explanation while hearing the beeping of the heart monitor. Until suddenly she heard a soft grunt coming from he left side.
“Hmm… hmm.”
“Sir? Hey, it’s ok, try not to move too much. You had a bad wound on the side of your head but we fixed you up in no time. On a scale of one to ten how are you feeling from pain?” Said Dahlia while she raised the top part of the bed while he continued to grunt a-little less.
“Pain? Hehe… I have been through more worst than this lady. This, it’s like if I just twisted an ankle or soemthin’. So I don’t care much if I feel like shit or not,” he said trying to sound tough and just trying to shrug it off.
Dahlia only smiled seeing that he tried to be funny, though his wound would leave him a good scar in his head.
“Well you should be thankful that it didn’t open much more than it looked last night. But right now you must eat something first so you can take your next pills. Here now,” Said Dahlia picking up a few piece of food with the fork.
“Hey I can feed myself I ain’t some 3 year old damn kid that needs someone else to feed me. That’s just weird and childish,” he said leaving a bit away from the fork filled with food.
“Oh please don’t sound so difficult, look I’m trying to help you and doing my best here to get your strength back. Or otherwise you’ll be here for quite some time if you want to take things more slower. It’s your choice sweetie. Either take it slow or take it quick?”
He only rolled his eyes in annoyance looking the other way while Dahlia patiently waited for a response.
He’s like a child, only in the body of a grown man… I think that’s cute…
After awhile he gave in, one bit of food after another he cleaned his tray off.
“See that wasn’t so hard now was it?” Dahlia said in a cheeky voice, while he didn’t say a word. “Alright you have to take your painkiller now, here.”
As she gave both the pill and the cup of water to him, he took it like nothing. It surprised Dahlia that he easily took them without sounding foolish. He swallowed the pill in one go as well as the cup of water, giving the now empty plastic cup back to her.
“Right then, you must rest now I’ll see you later to give your last meal for today. The doctor will come and see you,” Dahlia said as she placed the cup on top of the empty tray.
Before she made her way towards the door, he heard him call out to her to wait.
“Hey, I… I want to say I’m sorry for the way I acted last night’. And for graspin’ to hard on your wrist, I just… last night I got into this stupid fight. Lettin’ some steam off like it would be such a helpful thing but it just went south.”
Dahlia was left confused as to why he started to say these things to her. Even though she was taking a masters degree as a therapist this seemed like a nice opportunity to interact with. Dahlia then sat on the chair at the end of the bed hoping to see where this might go. Hoping to try out her first intercession with a lot of high expectations in trying out her skills.
“May I ask why did you decided to fight with someone random? Did you think it would ease whatever it was building inside of you? Or maybe you want to forget about something going on with your family or somebody else in particular?” Dahlia asked on hopefully she was doing this right and not sounding too pressuring.
“Hehe, I always have something building inside of me. Just already got use to havin’ it around all the time. I have family, a brother and I have my dad too but I sometimes try to be with them but I always shut them out. I sometimes like to be left alone and well… there was this someone I use to be with but… she wasn’t it.” He said while biting his lips together his eyes looking down.
Dahlia saw the way his body languages changed, seeing she hit a nerve on him.
“And is that person still in contact with you or you both went separate ways?” She then asked knowing where this talk might be going too.
“I did for a while but she didn’t want nothing else to do with me because well let’s just say she was the reason for why we aren’t together anymore. I loved her so much, gave her my time, energy, gave the whole world to her. Though when she said she wanted to have space and be alone, I didn’t know understand at that moment. Until now looking back at it, she didn’t have that same love back for me. And I asked myself, was that all a lie?” He then said letting out a heavy sigh while he fiddled his fingers.
“I see. You’re going through a lot with this relationship you thought was real. Believe me I was once there, I also thought afterwards if I was taken advantage of. And even thought the whole relationship we had was all a lie,” dahlia said surprised to hear herself be this quickly open to someone she just seen last night.
“I guess we both in the same page. What a small world that we both ended up having bad relationships,” he then said which it made them both smile and chuckle a bit.
“You’re right, you know you feel like you found the right one but they end up being a disappointment? Yes that’s what happens when you be too nice and humble to someone,” said Dahlia thinking about her time with Blake, which she new she did give everything to him.
The patient looked at her way, seeing a sad expression on her face knowing that he too did hit a nerve. He didn’t expect to stumble upon someone else who would feel the same place as him. And being so open to a nurse out of everyone in this world. He then still looked her way and without realizing he had his hand gently placed on top of her right arm.
“Hey let me tell you something. Whatever that asshole did to you or said. You deserve someone better, even if you have to wait for years or whatever the time gives you. It’ll pay off in the end, because you’re a pretty girl, you seem smart, and most of all should be treated like a queen. So you’ll be ok we all will.” He said giving a small smile at her, which Dahlia gave a smile back.
“You know I never got your name, what’s your name? I’m Dahlia and you’re sweet and thank you,” she said feeling her cheeks turn warm from the compliment he gave her.
“Tommy. Tommy Conlon and that’s a cool name I’ve never heard of it before. But hey I’m just honest with others you have been the most pretty nurse so far. I hope that doesn’t sound weird or something,” he said feeling a bit of a dumbass for saying that.
“Hehe no you’re fine it was just unexpected to say the least. I have to get back to work but get some more rest and I’ll be back later tonight. It was a good talk but see you then,” Dahlia said getting up on her feet as she grabbed the gray one more time.
“Yes it was nice talking to you, and believe me I’ve had too much rest already. But yes see you soon Dahlia,” said Tommy giving her one last smile to her which she just nodded her head.
Once outside of the room, she gently rested her back against the wooden door. Mind boggled as to what just happened right now. Not believing that someone like Tommy would open to her that fast. But at the same time she felt comfortable in sharing her story too.
What the hell was all that about??? Have you lost yourself Dahlia…
However deep down, she did feel something warm when they both talked. Like she felt some sort of trust with Tommy, it’s like they were meant to stumble with each other. Thought was it for a good reason or a bad one? Only time would tell and Dahlia hoped that he might be someone that she could call a friend and to be able to talk without feeling judged.
It’s only for me to decide if I want him to come in… we’ll just have to wait and see…
*******
Dahlia woke up early to get herself ready for graduation. It has been over 2 fast years since she started. She wished it didn’t end very suddenly but there was something more special that happened in between those years.
“Baby, hmmm… come back to bed just for a few more minutes?,” groaned Tommy as he laid on his left side of the bed seeing a peak of his big pecks of his chest.
“Awww my baby boy, didn’t you already had enough of making out from me last night?” She cheekily said until Tommy wrapped his arms around her catching her off guard.
Landing on the bed again, they both laugh and hugged each other close together, exchanging another long, sweet kiss. The longer the kiss became, the more Tommy wanted to go another round again. Dahlia felt his right hand going under her white long blouse. Making her lowly moan between her mouth and Tommy’s. She went on top of him, not letting go of those plump, thick lips of his that Dahlia had grown to taste and love every second.
“My babygirl is finally graduating today. You did my Dahlia, you got to where you want to be,” Tommy said gently cupping her face with both of his hands, making her smile in glee.
“We both did, not only is about me here love. You also should be proud of yourself to have your own gym along side with your brother. And not only that but I have confession to make and I’ve been nervous to tell you,” Dahlia said while she gently bit her bottom lip hoping that whatever Tommy says about this big news she only hoped that best for both and a change in their lives.
“What is it you’ve been wantin’ to tell me babe? You already know you can tell me anything, we already talked about this. Just relax and tell me when you’re ready, ok?” Tommy said reassuringly, as they both clasps their hands to together, which Dahlia felt at ease.
“I… well we… we are expecting a little us and I don’t know if you are ok with taking this step further. It sounds crazy believe me but that is why I was scared to te-.”
“Are you kiddin’ me Dahlia?” Tommy cut her off but in a joyous way, making himself sit up a bit more comfortable not believing in such wonderful news he was hearing, “Of course I am good with this, why did you keep this within yourself until now? How long has it been since you knew you were having a baby?”
“Remember when went to that party with your brother Brandon and Tess? Well when I told you that I was going to walked out for some bit of air? I lied to you about it and I instead went to the restroom, and I took a pregnancy test and it came out positive. I didn’t want to believe it was real but it was. That’s why when you told me when I came back if I was fine, I knew it was wrong for me to keep it this long. But now you know, and I really was nervous if you were going to yell at me or something.”
“No, no, baby. This is the best thing that I am really looking forward too, especially now that you and the baby our my priority to take care of you both. No matter what, I want to be here for you and showing our baby girl or boy that his or her dad will promise to always take care of them. I love you so much my Dahlia,” Tommy said looking down at her flat stomach that will sometime later begin to grow a lovely bump.
“You will be there for our baby boy or our little girl. I know deep down that you will be the best dad that the baby will be lucky to have. We got this and we will work hard to give our child the best that we can. And I love you more my Tommy Conlon,” she said as she gave him another tender kiss knowing a bright future is awaiting for them.
Something that was well worth the wait and deserving.
A/N: Hello everyone and I know what you’re thinking you have been away fro so long what happened?? I am sorry for not being active here guys I know it’s crazy how long I haven’t been in here. I have been away because of school, life, and also just having time for myself. And I am back and I will try to upload more here and there. I wanted to give you all a preview of what I wrote about a Lycan and a vampire princess. I recently started watching The Originals(thanks to my bf for recommending me it 🥰). And I thought why not make a story about a world where Lycans and vampires are forbidden to be friends and also lovers with each other but two. However there is two that break that number one rule. Ons is a Lycan called Matthias, and the other or royal blood named Otsana. Here is a small preview that I just wrote out of nowhere and I hope you all enjoy it. Let me know if you want more and see how this story goes. See you all later.
“I don’t need you help you, you Lycan,” said Otsana huffing in and out of breath uncontrollably.
“Don’t be foolish princess, if you want to live come with me now,” said the male Lycan extending his hand towards her way.
Otsana refused his hand, knowing she was standing in front of her enemy that her father found disgusting. It has been written in the vampire rules that it was forbbiden that both Lycans and Vampires are not to be friends and moreover, and most importantly. Both breeds are banned to fall in love with each other, if found guilty both wound be sentenced to death. This was taught by her father, Marcus, ever since she turned 18 years old. He felt that her daughter was ready to teach her the ways of their people and preparing her to be queen one day and will be next in line to the throne. It was her purpose and destiny to lead her people and continuing the family legacy. Which Otsana gave her word, though she hated that her mother and father have already found a suitor for her.
Henry Dunkan was his name, handsome, hazel eyes, curly brown hair, and overall a boy that Otsana saw him as just a friend and nothing more. He didn’t seem to be the type of person that Otsana will feel unhappy since Henry, is the type of person to flirt with other She-Vampires. She despised it very much, seeing how many girls he has been with before they were told they were to be married. Though it is after all her duty to marry him, even if they both didn’t know each other much and they seem to not have a single spark between them. And so Otsana decided to do what ever arranged marriage girl would do. Run away from home.
“Come on Matthias. Leave the She-Vampire go,” said another human Lycan from behind him, suddenly transforming into his wolf form.
Matthias ignored his friend, still having his hand out towards the princess.
There were sudden growls and evil laughs heard in the distance. Otsana without saying another word, ran the other way towards her home.
“Wait no,” Matthias called out to her, but she was already gone in a speed of light.
Between her breaths and hearing the sound of her heartbeat, she ran as fast as she could through the Dark Woods. Hoping to make it out of alive and go straight back home. Until she heard the sound of growls and snarls once again. She picked up the pace, giving in everything she had in her. Suddenly without her noticing, A swift figure aggressively pushed her from her left side. Making her land hard in the dirt floor, hitting the side of her head on a hard stone. Groaning in pain, her vision became foggy feeling a stream of her crimson blood running down from her forehead. She tried to get up, but her body felt heavy and weak.
“What is a little vampire princess like you doing in these parts of the woods?” croaked one of the male incubus creatures.
Their faces appeared white like the dead, with hollow and sunken eyes that only you could see is blackness like the night. Their skin white as ash and wrinkled and dry.
Otsana tried to stay awake, but every time she wanted to get up on her feet, both her body and eyes would droop and fall back top the ground.
“Let’s finish her off quickly, before she becomes bitter and spoiled,” croaked another one, this time it was a woman’s voice.
The group of incubus started to circle around Otsana, aggressively smelling and craving for the princess’s blood.
“Don’t worry my child,” said the male incubus, grabbing a fist of her black hair with its hand making Otsana cry out in pain, “this will only be painful for a quick second.”
Bending her head back, exposing her fair neck, the incubus creature suddenly was swift away from Otsana’s grasp. The other incubus’s looked on with shock and fear. Seeing their leader being bitten on the side of his neck, screaming out in pain. Once he fell silent, the Lycan creature slowly turned around, with dry dark blood stained from mouth to chin. There was sudden howls that came from every direction, circling around them. The howls became in unison, ready to attack their preys in front of them.
“Lycans, attack them!!!,” commanded out a female incubus but it was too late.
Coming in fast from left to right, each Lycan caught one incubus after another. It was a bloodbath, every dead incubus creature fell to its doom. Otsana was going in and out of conscious. Her vision started to become more blurry by the second. Hearing screams from every direction, while the sound of bones being crushed together. Smelling the foul blood of the demon creatures gushing out from their bodies. In the corner of her right eye, she saw two Lycans decapitating a male incubus’s neck in one go. While the other, ripped off the side of its neck, leaving a high hole.
One by one fell, until there was nothing but body parts and pools of black blood. The Lycans then went back to their human forms, Matthias then ran towards Otsana. Which she didn’t notice his presence, until she caught the scent of incubus blood under his chin.
“Hey, you ok?” He asked her, but her hearing was muffled and became more exhausted.
Otsana suddenly saw blackness, feeling herself fall in slow motion. Matthias grabbed her gently in mid-air, while his right hand was resting against the back of her head, feeling her soft, black hair. Her presence caught Matthias attention for a second, not realizing he was memorizing every feature on Otsana’s beauty.
She is… like a…like a goddess…
“Matthias leave her, we have to get back to the our pack. Before more those fucking things come,” said his friend, Darko, while the other Lycans piled up the lifeless bodies of the incubus creatures in a pile.
Matthias only ignored his friend, as he gently hoisted Otsana in his arms. Feeling her head resting against his chest, which this made him feel warm inside.
“No. I’m not leaving her out here, she is still bleeding, we’re taking her back home with us.”
“Are you crazy, how will the chief think about us bring in a blood sucking creature into our home? I’m sure by the time we get there, her people will come looking for her,” said Darko, knowing that it was risky to bring in a vampire into their pack, especially if its a female.
“I don’t care right now, we have to take her in before she starts losing more blood.”
“Ugh! You’re unbelievable Matthias. Do you even worry or even care if our people gets attacked by this woman’s breed? Imagine if something happens to us, all of our fingers will be pointing to you, and mark my words Matthias. You will be the only one here to feel guilty and should have listen to me.”
“Darko. This is not the time that I don't want to talk about this. I know what will happen if her people will find out we have her with us.”
“Oh sure it looks like you do. So fucking pathetic and weak.”
Matthias gave Darko a wolf like growl sound, which his friend did the same in return.
“Enough! The both of you!,” said a female Lycan named Miriam, steeping in between the two men, “we have to keep going before more incubus’s come. Darko, yes your right about the royal Lucinda family. They will come looking for their princess but Matthias,” Miriam looked at his direction as she spoke on, “Once she is fully recovered from her wounds, she has to go without any excuse. Do you understand?”
Matthias only responded with a simple nod of his head, keeping his word. His friend Darko, wasn’t pleased with this but he just said nothing else.
The Lycan then carried Otsana with care, while the other Lycans then set the pile of the dead incubus creatures on fire. Only for a big campfire-life flame burst to life. Some of them turned back into their wolf forms making their way back to their home. While Matthias picked up the pace, holding onto Otsana in his large arms. Knowing the consequences that was waiting ahead of him, will be in his hands.
I hope the chief welcomes her, and see she’s not a threat… but a hope of a new future for both Lycans and Vampires…

Summary: ”I'm Sorry."
Two words that she never thought she would hear from the man in front of her. If she's honest, she did look at him like he had 3 heads. Silence took over as they both stared at each other, wondering who would break it as his apology lingered between them.

The old grandfather clock chimed throughout the small hallway indicating that it was past 10 o'clock at night. Freya was peacefully sitting on the red velvet couch facing the small chimney fireplace. While in her hands she continued to read a book that she got from one of the bookshelves. Cyril was lying next to her feet on the floor while the smooth breeze of the ocean outside the window came inside the lit-up living room. Freya let out a low sigh placing the closed book on top of her lap feeling uneasy about Alfie not arriving home yet.
“Where could he be, it’s getting late?” she said out loud resting her back against the head of the couch hearing the crackling sound of the fireplace continuing to burn.
Feeling like time was going slow for Freya, Sophia, their young maid, appeared inside the living room making Cyril lift his head up from his nap.
“Would you like me to get you anything else for tonight Mrs. Solomons?” the young girl asked while picking up the silver tray from the small brown table in front of Freya.
“No, I’m quite alright now, Sophia thank you. It's best you head home. I'm still waiting for Alfie to arrive from his workplace. Don’t you worry about me, I can take care of the rest of the house. You have done a lot today which I appreciate very much and so does Alfie but enough said. Oh, and yes, your payment for this week's salary I’ll get that right away for you my dear. I’ll be right back,” Freya said, walking her way out of the living room to head to Alfie’s office, while Sophia put away the tea tray in the kitchen area.
A few minutes later Freya returned with the young woman’s payment in her hands, she saw Sophia giving cuddles and scratches to the big Bullmastiff. She smiled at the site while the big dog lay on his back enjoying the amount of attention he was getting from the young housemaid.
“Silly Cyril you, now come on then off to bed with you. Go on shoo, shoo,” Freya clapped commanding the big brown mutt to go away but was not listening.
“Hehe, seems he doesn't want to go to bed just yet, but I must go now Cyril I’ll see you tomorrow you sweet dog,” Sophia cooed raising herself on her feet smoothing out her white shirt dress.
“Here you go love,” Freya said handing over the young woman’s money as she continued speaking, “We’ll see you at the same hour in the morning as always, you walk safely back home now. Goodnight Sophia.”
“Thank you, Mrs. Solomons, and I’ll be here at 7 in the morning sharp like I always do. And it is a pleasure to serve you and Mr. Solomon-.”
The front door suddenly burst open making both women jump back in fright, noticing Alfie angrily mumbling some words under his breath. Both Sophia and Freya couldn't quite catch what he was saying, as he shut the door with force.
“Fuckin’ hell can tonight be something more difficult than the other nights,” Alfie loudly said walking his way towards his office room not noticing the girl's presence who have been seeing his small tantrum all this time.
“Umm, well then that means he didn’t have a good day at work I suppose. I apologize for my husband's behavior Sophia, he really isn't like this every night believe me. Anyways again goodnight dear, until the morning,” said Freya, opening the door for Sophia feeling embarrassed on the inside from Alfie’s actions.
After Sophia left the house, Freya with a small temper growing from inside, quickly walked her way toward her husband's private office. Cyril followed right behind as she opened the door with ferocity, seeing his back facing her way.
“What the fuck is the matter with you, Alfie? Have you gone out of your mind coming back home with that temperament?” Freya questioned, closing the door behind her and crossing her arms in front of her chest glaring her eyes directed at him.
“So fuckin’ what, eh? I can act whatever way I want, yea, you won’ understand the amount of shit I went through today,” he said, forwarding himself on his knuckles on top of his desk, letting out a big frustrated sigh.
Freya let out a slow sigh trying her best to steady her breathing, wanting to try and communicate with her loving husband. She felt her body relax until she talked to Alfie once again.
“Alfie, talk to me, you know you can always tell me what is wrong,” Freya said, placing a gentle hand on top of his left shoulder but he shoved her hand away from him startling her with fright.
“Why would you fuckin’ care about what happened to me at the job today, it's business that you won’t understand. And now you here telling me ‘what is wrong,’ like if talkin’ will make me feel better,” he said giving a menacing look at his wife, Freya felt chills forming through her body appalled by how Alfie was raising his voice at her.
“Are you listening to yourself, Alfie?” Freya now had her voice raised while her hands turned into tight fists as she continued on speaking, “What is the matter with you, how dare you're raising your voice at me when it isn’t my fault you had a terrible day at work. And you're standing here taking your anger out on me. Who by the way is your wife? Who wants to try and understand what the hell caused you to act like this.”
“Do me a favor, my dear yea? Why don’ you just leave me alone and shut your goddamn mouth and instead you can fuck off from my site yea! You're makin’ my damn head hurt more just by looking at your face,” he said breathing heavily in and out from his nostrils, Freya stayed silent feeling as though a sharp knife stabbed through her heart.
Not wanting to stay any longer Freya angrily walked out of Alfie’s private office, shutting the brown door with a loud bang. She leaned her back against the wooden door placing her hands over her eyes and letting out a small quiet whimper. She felt tears forming through her dark hazel eyes, inhaling a long breath of air as she walked her way through the small hallway. She grabbed a long black scarf from the coat hanger and wrapped the material around her shoulders. Freya made her way out of her house without a care in the world, as some thunder was heard in the far distance. Indicating that a storm was coming in but that didn’t stop her from walking her way to who knows where. Back inside the house, Alfie took out a bottle of whiskey from a side drawer of his desk. Before opening the cap, he stared at the bottle for a moment until he saw Freya’s face.
Realizing what he did and said to her was incredibly wrong and inside his soul, he was regretting it ever so much. Grabbing the whiskey bottle with his right hand he frustratingly threw it across the room, making a big splatter spot on the wall. Along with the pieces of glass shattered throughout the floor as he let himself fall on top of his armchair. Tilting his head back looking up at nothing else but the ceiling, exhaling a long sigh while he had his eyes closed.
What the fuck did I just do… I’m such a fuckin’ idiot…
Alfie walked his way out of his office room, walking through the hallway towards the stairs that led up to the second floor. Cyril walked alongside him making their way up wanting to apologize to her for acting such a dick towards her knowing that his anger got the best of him. Alfie reached the bedroom door and before going inside he softly knocked on it.
“Freya… sweetheart, I’m… forgive me for screaming at you. I… I don’t know what came over me,” Alfie said, letting out a disappointed sigh and placing his right hand on the doorknob making his way slowly inside the room.
But to his shock, she was nowhere to be found inside but only their empty bed and a small table lamp on the other side of the room. Alfie panicked feeling his heart racing out of control, as he walked his way back down the first floor.
“Freya. Freya, where are you?” he called out looking from one room to the other, not finding any trace of her whereabouts.
Alfie started to become more agitated after failing to find her in every part of the house thinking about where she could be or run off to. Alfie caressed his fingers through his short brown locks, letting out another irritated sigh. Wondering where Freya could have gone too and somewhere he and she would know to go when they wanted to clear their heads out. That's when it suddenly hit him where exactly Freya could have gone to.
The old stone bridge… she must have gone there…
Alfie didn't wait another minute to pass by and made his way out of the house, leaving Cyril all alone in the house. Outside the dark chilly night, it started pouring small drops of rain as Alfie walked his way towards the path that leads to the old bridge. Where they met for the first time when they were in their adolescent years. He only hoped and prayed that Freya made it there safely the rain however only continued to come down heavily.
"Follow the path, Cyril. You know better." A young Alfie told his then puppy.
The pup happily sniffed and walked along the path again, a path he and Alfie took for their afternoon walks for a few months now. It was all very familiar to both boys. Today was no different, or at least, it wasn't supposed to be. Yet, their ears picked up on something.
"Stop." Alfie whispered to his pup who stayed in place in front of him, waiting for his owner to be closer.
Looking around, Alfie couldn't place where the sudden singing was coming from. Not that he minded the joyous and raucous tune, but the path is known to be private, which is why he began walking Cyril here two months ago. Straining his sight again, he finally saw a figure under the old stone bridge.
A young woman, to be exact. She was dancing while singing. Her swaying movements and the unfamiliar tune was like a siren's song to the young man and his puppy. Neither even felt themselves starting to walk in her direction. Their feet simply had minds of their own. Slowly, they approached the young woman who hadn't seen or heard them yet. She was too busy dancing her heart out, the jingling of her many necklaces clinking against each other adding a different beat to the, what Alfie could tell was a, foreign song. He was in a trance as he watched her body move. Nothing provocative, nothing grand. She just seemed so free. Cyril looked up at his owner, wondering why he hadn't said anything yet if he liked seeing the girl dance so much. So, being the curious puppy he was, he happily barked.
The echoing noise immediately had the young woman stopping her movements and her song as she sharply inhaled, clearly startled as she looked towards the direction in which the bark came from.
"No, no, shh." Alfie told his dog as he tried to subdue the embarrassment he began to feel since he had gotten caught staring.
Instead of being able to control his puppy, Cyril barked again, and again, and again. His tail was wagging and his ears stood up halfway as he wondered why the girl wasn't singing or dancing anymore as she kept looking at them. Alfie wasn't sure what to do as he looked up from his dog. His eyes met the young woman's, and he could tell that she was either seconds from running away or she was too scared to move and was hoping they'd leave first. He knew one thing was for certain; neither parties moved from their spots as they simply stared at each other.
He could tell she wasn't from here. He had never seen her in the town, much less under the old bridge that he has been passing under daily for two months. He softly cleared his throat as he gave her a tiny nod, unsure of what to do as she kept looking at them. He wasn't sure if she'd do them both harm, though she didn't seem to be a bad person. Cyril, on the other hand, was still curious about this girl who seemed so free a moment ago and was now hesitant to leave the safety of the shadows of the bridge.
So, Cyril took matters into his own paws and sniffed the trail as he wandered over to where she was standing. He was surprised when Alfie didn't bother stopping him. Looking up at the girl who slowly looked down at him, Cyril barked, wagging his tail to let her know he was friendly. He sensed that she was being cautious, and the pup didn't blame her. He and his owner were strangers to her after all. He sat in place and softly whined, giving her the best puppy eyes that he could muster. Alfie took cautious steps towards the two, stopping just under the beginning of the bridge.
He watched her necklaces clink together as she slowly moved to kneel down in front of the puppy. Cyril immediately climbed into her lap, causing the young woman to seem taken back by the gentle action. The pup nudged one of her hands with his small nose, letting her know it was alright to pet him. Carefully, she very lightly patted his back, now curious about the tiny animal in her lap who seemed happy to see her. So she patted him again, and again, and again. Each time, she grew less afraid, less cautious, and soon, Alfie felt himself smiling as he watched her scratch Cyril on his belly which caused one of the pup's back legs to scratch the air.
He found her smile breathtaking, even if it was directed at his dog and not him.
"I…um, we're sorry for interrupting you." He said, noticing how her eyes were taking all of him in.
It made him feel too warm for his own comfort, but some tiny part of him deep down enjoyed the attention from this beautiful young woman.
She only gave him another smile, seeming confused as to what he was saying. Deciding to try and help the situation, Alfie carefully kneeled down in front of her and his pup, hoping she could tell that they're both friendly and meant her no harm.
"Cyril." He told her, pointing at the puppy.
She tilted her head slightly to the right, still seeming confused.
"Cy-ril." Alfie repeated, only slower this time so she could grasp the name.
She looked at the dog, slowly nodding. Though she didn't say anything, Alfie knew she understood. Suddenly, she was pointing at him, head tilting to the right again.
"I'm Alfie." He said, placing one of his hands on his chest.
Her eyebrows raised in confusion.
"Al-fie. Al-fie." He slowly repeated, being patient with her.
She gave him a slow nod, understanding that he was introducing himself.
"Alfie Solomons. I live here, in Camden. Do…Do you live here?" He asked, only to receive no answer.
They both stared at each other for what seemed like an eternity.
"Freya," She softly spoke, copying him and placing one of her hands on her chest,
"Fre-ya." She said with a smile.
"Freya." He repeated the name, liking how it rolled off his tongue.
She happily nodded after he had said it. He stretched out his right hand towards her, watching as she looked at it with curiosity.
"You give me your left hand, and we shake 'em together. That's how you greet someone who you just met." He explained.
Freya still didn't understand, so he gently took her left hand in his right one. Very slowly, he shook hands with her, noticing that she seemed to be paying close attention.
"It's nice to meet you." He said, adding a slight smile for good measure.
He tried to let go of her hand, but she didn't want to let him go. She had never been so patiently dealt with by someone foreign to her. Alfie felt himself blushing as they just awkwardly kept holding hands, wondering why she would choose to keep holding on to him.
"Do you live here?" He asked her again, only to earn another head tilt.
"Um,"
His mind was racing as he thought of ways to gesture at a house or anything that resembled a home. Suddenly, an idea hit him as he spotted a small twig beside his leg. She let go of his hand as his other began picking up the twig. He did the best that he could to draw an outline of a house between them on the sand beneath their legs.
"Home?" He asked, motioning to his simple drawing.
All Freya did was curiously look at him before something visibly clicked within her. She pointed to the twig, and Alfie quickly gave it to her. He was so caught up in looking her over that he hadn't realized what she was doing. That is, until a voice was heard in the far distance.
"Freya!" A man's voice shouted.
Alfie watched as she happily turned around, looking towards where the voice came from. Turning again to face her new friend, she pointed behind her.
"Tata." She said with a smile.
Now it was Alfie's turn to give her a look of confusion, watching as she handed a snoozing Cyril to him before she carefully rose to her feet. He quickly followed, careful to not wake his puppy.
"Freya!" The man's voice shouted again, sounding slightly closer this time.
"Tata." The young woman repeated to Alfie who gave her a slow nod.
Then it clicked.
'Must be her father.' He thought as she gave him another smile.
"Home." She softly added as she tried her best to copy how he had pronounced the singular word, once again pointing in the same direction she had a moment ago.
"Oh, right, yeah. I best be headin' back myself.
"Home?" She asked with a curious expression, her words laced with happiness.
"Yes. My home is that way." He answered with a slight smile, pointing behind him, his thumb gesturing towards the path he and Cyril took.
"Jutro." She said with a look of hope.
Once again, he was confused.
"Jutro?" She asked instead, hoping it would make a difference.
"I…I don't understand." He softly explained, taking a step closer to her.
"Jutro…jutro." She slowly repeated, making a gesture with her hands as she also took a step closer towards him.
Alfie paid close attention, trying to grasp what she meant as he closely watched her hands. Her left hand stayed still as her right one moved back to the front over her left.
"Jutro?" She asked in a whisper.
Then it hit him.
"Tomorrow!" He blurted out, finally understanding.
"Jutro!" She happily hummed out, grateful that he knew what she meant.
"I'll come back tomorrow. Me and Cyril," He pointed to himself and his pup,
"Will meet you," He pointed at her,
"Here." He promised as he pointed between them.
They were both happy that they had reached an agreement, just in time, as her father called out a third time, the voice closer now. She reached towards Cyril, giving his head a loving pat, being careful to not wake him. With a final look to Alfie, Freya slowly waved at him, giving him such a sweet smile before she hurried out from under the old stone bridge. He watched as she soon disappeared into the fog that was covering the far distance of Camden.
Freya, Alfie, and Cyril were inseparable. Wherever one was, so were the other two. The three spent much time each day under the stone bridge. It was mostly because Freya was scared to leave its safety. She had never dared go past the bridge, and Alfie never forced her. Until one month later when one particular morning Cyril had stepped on a small thorn and Alfie wasn't sure what was wrong with his pup.
"Mate, you're limping." He said in concern as Cyril sat in place.
Squatting down, Alfie carefully looked over his whimpering pup, trying to figure out what the source behind the discomfort was.
"Alfie!" Freya happily called out to him from under the bridge.
Looking towards her, he waved at her since she was waving at him.
"I'll be just a second, alright? Something is wrong with Cyril." He called out to her as worry towards his dog's health began creeping into his head.
Freya quietly watched as Alfie sat on the floor and Cyril didn't climb in his lap. In her eyes, it was all too strange that the puppy would rather sit on the floor than in his owner's lap because Cyril loves being in her and Alfie's laps.
She could hear Alfie talking to Cyril, but all he would get in return were whines and whimpers of discomfort. Worry rose within her, and it was so fast in that moment that she hadn't realized her feet had minds of their own. They quickly walked her out from under the bridge and towards her friends. She sat beside Alfie, who glanced over at her then back to his dog, but then he quickly fully looked over at her.
"Cyril." She said in worry with a small frown.
Carefully, she picked him up, doing some inspecting of her own to see if Alfie possibly missed something when he had done the same just a second ago.
"Freya, you're-"
"Found it." She announced as she very gently laid the dog on her lap.
She spotted a very small thorn wedged between the pads of his left back paw.
"A thorn?" He asked her as she held it up for him to see.
"Yes." She answered before flicking it away from them.
"Better, Cyril?" She asked the pup as she set him on all fours.
He happily wagged his tail before barking, obviously in a much better mood.
"Freya,"
She turned to look at Alfie who wore a surprised expression on his face.
"Yes?" She asks curiously.
"You're out from under the bridge." He told her gently.
She looked behind them, finding he was correct. She had left the safety of the bridge. Yet it didn't feel different now that she was out from under there. She was with Alfie and Cyril, which made everything seem normal.
"Is good?" She hesitantly asked him.
He gently smiled at her, enjoying that she had learned the English language so quickly with his help.
"Do you feel good about being here in the open?" He asked her.
After giving the question some thought, she nodded, giving him a smile in return.
"Then this means I can show ya the shops in the town." He excitedly said, and the thought of seeing all the different stores and products they have to offer caused her to smile again.
That day, while they were in town, he asked her if she would allow him to be her boyfriend. She looked at him in slight shock as she thought of what he had just asked.
"If you don't want to be with me, I understand. It's just…I fancy you so much, Freya. You understand me like no one else does. You're beautiful and kind. Your nature is to heal and comfort. Mine is to destroy and create chaos. But none of that happens when I'm with you."
"Yes." She answered once his words ceased.
They stared at each other for what felt like an eternity. Slowly, big smiles began to spread across their lips before she happily hugged him. He hugged her back, holding her tightly as she excitedly giggled into his chest.
Two months passed before their lives drastically changed. A war had begun, and by what Alfie told Freya, any and all help was needed.
"They sent me this." He told her, holding up a folded paper.
"What is it?" She hesitantly asked.
He took a good long look at her. He didn't want to tell her. He couldn't. He couldn't bear to see the sadness he knew would be on her face. He didn't want to tell her that he might die far away from home. Yet he forced himself to answer her.
"It's a letter. I've been…"
She stepped closer to him, seeing the worry in his eyes,
"I've been drafted. They need me to go fight. I leave in two weeks."
Silence lingered between them as they looked at each other.
"You can't leave." She whispered as a small frown took over her lips.
"I have to. They'll punish me if I don't." He softly explained.
"But…But what if you don't return?" She asked him.
Tears began to form in her eyes, and he quickly wrapped his arms around her.
"I will. I will return. That much I promise you."
Those two weeks were spent with each other. The young couple felt that they couldn't get enough time together as the day they both dreaded quickly approached. When that morning came, the two closely stayed by each other's sides as they waited for the designated train to pull into the station.
Freya couldn't stop thinking about how to help Alfie feel less nervous. He was holding her hand as if his life depended on it. Then it dawned on her.
She moved to take off one of the many necklaces that hung around her neck. Making sure she had the one she wanted, she moved to stand in front of her boyfriend. He looked at her with curious eyes, wondering what she was doing. He had his answer when she held the necklace towards him. Understanding that she was trying to help, he slightly dipped his head down and felt her carefully slip it over his head. As it rested against his chest, he looked down at it, finding a small coin-sized plate hanging from the chain. The name of his girlfriend was engraved in a fancy font on the face of it.
She had opened her mouth to speak, but the train was coming into the station, blaring its horn in the process. The other men, young and older and who had also received a letter that requested their help in the war, began saying goodbye to their significant others or their families. Slowly, Freya's eyes met Alfie's.
"I promise to come back to you. No matter how far away I am, you'll be here in my heart. That's why you gave me this, right?" He asked as he pointed to the necklace.
"Yes." She answered in a whisper.
The train horn blared again, and even though the recruited men didn't want to, they all began lining up beside the train car to board it. Mothers and wives were crying while waving their sons and husbands off. Looking down at Freya, Alfie tightly embraced her. It was warm and loving, and neither wanted to let go. Reluctantly, he was the first to pull away after a solid minute.
"Don't cry, my love." He whispered as he gently wiped away her tears.
She placed her hands over his own, wanting to feel them in hers one last time until who knew how long. He leaned down, placing his mouth over hers, and she followed along by closing the space between them. The kiss was beautiful; familiar, and slow as they tried to be physically connected for as long as they could. When they couldn't breathe anymore, they pulled away, and after they caught their breaths, she sadly watched as he picked up his bags.
"Can I ask you for a favor?" He spoke softly.
"Anything." She answered quickly.
"Will you please look after Cyril and collect my mail while I'm gone? I don't get much, if any, but I'll write to you every chance I get." He explained.
She gave him a nod as it sank in for both of them that they were not dreaming and would be apart with neither knowing for how long. With an apologetic expression towards her, he began to also join the long line of recruited men.
He was only 15 feet away from her, yet she was already missing his touch. So, she did what any love stricken girlfriend would do.
"Alfie!" She called out.
He was about to fill an empty spot in the line when he quickly turned around. He was met by Freya rushing towards him, and just before he could drop his bags, her arms were around his neck. The force that came with her was so great that he almost lost his balance, but the young men on his right and left sides steadied him. They gave him knowing smiles as they took his bags and held them for him. His arms were wrapping themselves around her waist once his hands were free.
When she looked up at him, they kissed again, the action done in haste as the train horn was heard again. When they pulled away, Alfie rested his forehead against hers.
"I love you." He told her with such seriousness that she couldn't help but smile.
"I love you, too." She responded, and he slowly began to let go of her just like she did to him. The warmth they both felt from the embrace quickly turned cold as the two young men handed Alfie his bags again. Freya smiled sadly at him, earning the same smile from him.
A woman gently pulled her away from the line as it shortened, telling her that it was safer to wait by the waiting area than be too close to the tracks. Freya learned that the woman was a mother and had just said goodbye to her three sons. They both stood together, watching in fear and sadness as the train began to slowly take off. Alfie waved at her, just like the woman's sons did. The four had gotten seats right beside some windows. Freya waved back at him, trying her best to not cry so Alfie wouldn't remember her like that.
From that day, exactly one week passed until she heard from him. She was sitting in the living room of his home. Cyril was lying beside her as they both occupied the longest sofa. As she went through the mail to see if he had written to her, her heart raced when she saw her name on one envelope. She dropped the other few envelopes to the floor and got to opening hers right away. Her eyes were met by her boyfriend's handwriting, and they didn't hesitate to begin reading.
'Freya,
I am missing you. I know it has just been a couple of days, but I cannot wait to see you again. It is hard to be away from you for this war against France. I know that what I am doing is for the good of people, but nothing truly feels good without you. I am hoping to see you again soon. But, until then, know that I love you dearly and that I left my heart with you, my darling.
I love you,
-Alfie
Tears ran down her cheeks as she realized that only a week had passed. How long would it be until they saw each other again? Would he make it back? Would this war turn him into someone she wouldn't recognize when…if…he returned? Looking at Cyril, who was closely watching her, Freya continued to softly cry. The dog became concerned, so he moved his head to be in her lap. As soon as she felt Cyril's weight, she hugged him, crying into his fur as he lowly whined. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
“Freya. Freya, can you hear me love?” Alfie called out walking through the big green forest both his shoulders and hair drenched in rain.
He has been calling out for his wife for an hour or so hoping that she didn’t go far from where they lived. Beneath his shoes the pathway was muddy in some spots trying his best to not slip. Some paces later Alfie saw a black smokey cloud in the distance. At first he thought it would be Freya’s family that were set at camp but as he made his way towards the cloud. It turned out to be the old stone bridge where he and Freya would mostly spend time together and where they first met all those years ago. It’s like he could remember it like it was yesterday.
How time flies so fast…
Seeing the smoke coming from underneath he carefully made his way down a steep path. Once making it down Alfie embraced the site of the old bridge placing a hand against its few stones. Remembering the old days of both him and Freya’s life when they would meet each other secretly. Until Freya’s father found out about their meetups one day and it caused both of them to not see or speak to each other for weeks. But eventually Freya told her father that Alfie was nothing but a gentleman and a marvelous boy towards her. Knowing that Alfie wasn’t never the type of man to lay a hand on her for any reason. Her father at first didn’t believe in her daughter for a while but eventually when one day Alfie without feeling afraid. Went to visit her home and talked with her family hoping that they will see a different perspective and let Freya be his friend.
“If you ever do anything that will harm my lovely daughter you stay away from us and never come back. Is that understood boy?” Said Harald Freya’s father pointing a sharp finger at the young boy which in reply a nod in agreement.
And after that discussion Freya was free to see and speak with Alfie which she was relieved that her father finally let her see her friend. It was as if that event just happened yesterday how he wished to relive that moment one more time.
Alfie then made his way towards the large opening of the bridge where he found Freya sitting on the wet cold ground. Hugging her legs together while she stared at the small campfire she made not too long ago. Her long dark brown hair was wet from the rain as well as her clothes. It didn’t bother her since she is after all a gypsy who has traveled to many places. And the rain was one of her favorite weathers feeling like she is at peace for the most part. Freya didn’t notice his presence until Alfie sat next to her. She scooted a bit to the side still feeling upset towards him not forgetting what he told her earlier. Alfie noticed this not wanting to push her buttons anymore knowing he has caused so much tonight. The crackling sound of the wood against the fire continued and Freya and Alfie didn't say much for a moment. While the sound of faint thunder was heard far towards the distance as the drops of water continued to gently pour down. Alfie wanted to say something at first but he didn’t feel brave to say anything yet. Freya tightens her long black scarf around her shoulders, feeling the cool wind feeling shivers running through her body. Noticing this Alfie without exchanging any words removed his long black coat from himself. He gently placed the warm material over Freya making her flinch but yet welcomed it. She looked him in the eyes giving off a small faint smile nodding her head in “thank you.” Alfie returned the gesture they both didn’t say much again. As some time has passed for too long Alfie finally surprising himself at the words he said next.
“I’m sorry,” is all that he could say looking forward to the fireplace.
When Freya heard him say those two words she looked at him with a confused look. Not believing in what he just heard him say.
“What did you say?” She then said wanting to make sure she heard him correctly.
Before he said anything he sat straight while clearing his throat. He turned to see his wife having to repeat himself again. Inhaling a small breath he heard himself again saying those two words he mostly never says until now.
“I’m sorry for yelling at you back at home my love. My frustration and stubbornness got the best of me and I never meant to say those things to you either. Work has been a pain in the ass these past couple of days and today was the worst of them all,” he says, lowering his eyes looking at his hands biting his lips together as he went on, “once those words came out of me mouth I knew I'd made a terrible mistake. Looking at your eyes I saw how hurt you felt and I wanted to just kill myself then and there for what I have said to the love of my life. I just…just.”
Freya could see the tears forming against his blue eyes knowing that he meant every word that he was saying to her. Seeing and hearing the guilt in his eyes and voice wishing he could take back what he didn’t mean to say. She also felt her eyes filling with tears as one teardrop stream down the corner of her right eye gently wiping it away with the back of her right hand. No words were exchanged Freya tightly hugged Alfie around his neck almost making him tilt to the side. But they both steadied themselves; she then felt his arms wrapping around her embracing in each other's arms.
“I know you didn’t mean those words my love, but that doesn’t make me stop loving you no matter what. I love you so much my Alfie, like you don’t imagine,” she said leaning back to look him in the eyes, placing her right hand against his left cheek as their foreheads touch each other.
“I promise you at this very moment that I’ll not let my emotions get to me very easily. Because I never want to see my flower look sad and hurt ever again. And I love you too my Freya like you don’t know either,” he said back, placing a small light kiss on top of her forehead.
“I hope you know I’m not one of your workers who will tolerate your screaming and shouting, Alfie. I'm your wife." Freya reminds her husband placing both her hands on each side of his cheeks.
Alfie nods immediately. "I know, sweetheart.”
"Don't you ever do this to me again, yes?” Freya says, sounding not too angry anymore with a more relaxed smile.
He gives her a small smile while nodding again. "I wouldn't dream of it." He says as he gets closer to her.
She can't stay mad at him forever, so she also gets closer to him. He leans down to kiss her, and when their lips touch, it all comes flooding back to him. The very first moment they shared their love for each other.
She could only imagine the beautiful bodies of other young women he had seen before she had ever met him. How could she compare? Surely they were much more beautiful than she. Every scar she had ever earned, from quick evacuations with her family when they encountered danger throughout their travels, were on display. They were like directions to every imperfection she had. Yet there she stood in front of the edge of his bed, bare. He stood before her, wearing only boxers. His bright blue-green eyes drank in every centimeter of her skin before they looked deep into her eyes.
"Freya,"
The way her name gently left his mouth made her heavily blush. All she could hear in his words was love. The emotion was very clear, and it gave her some relief, but not enough to wash her nerves away entirely.
“You’re absolutely stunning; a vision, a work of art.” He spoke, genuinely meaning every word.
He slowly closed the space between them, his eyes staying on her face the whole time as he walked a few steps towards her. She suddenly held her breath. She didn’t want to tell him that this was her first time having sex.
“What’s wrong?” He asked in a whisper.
He could see there was some concern written on her face, and it only grew the more he looked at her.
“Alife, I…”
He patiently waited for her to say what she needed,
“I’ve never had sex.”
His face grew pink at her confession.
“We don’t have to do anythin’, love. I would hate to make you uncomfortable.”
“I want to.” She quickly assured him.
Silence took over between them as they stared at each other.
“Neither have I.” He confessed.
“What?” She asked softly.
“I’ve also never had sex.” He clarifies.
“Do you still want to…with me?” She asked with hesitance.
“It would be an honor to have you be my first, my darling.” He answered.
She smiled up at him as her body relaxed a bit more. Slowly, she reached towards him, lightly placing her hands on his bare chest. It showed scars, all of them proof of his time away from home and fighting against enemies. A small smile crossed his lips as he placed his right hand at the back of her neck. His left hand made itself at home at her lower back. Before she knew it, he gently laid her down on his bed, helping her get more comfortable before he was hovering over her. His body was flush against hers but he made sure to keep his weight off her.
“I’ll look after you, my love.” The promise was said in a gentle voice, and it caused the rest of her nervousness to fade away.
Slowly, he dipped his head down and his lips began to pay special attention to the crook of her neck, leaving gentle kisses along one side. A sharp inhale had him straightening up. His eyes met hers, only to receive a nod.
“I’m alright.” She whispered as a blush appeared.
“I will not hurt you.” He spoke once he realized that she had been enjoying herself.
Her focus on the soft pressure of his lips against the skin of her neck was broken when an entirely new sensation caught her by surprise. His right hand had begun to slowly trail up the inside of her leg. It traveled up slowly, leaving goosebumps behind as it rested on her hip. Lifting his head once again, his eyes were glued to her. He needed to make sure she was okay with what he was doing. The look of sheer lust in his girlfriend’s eyes was enough to send a blush erupting through his cheeks. He never removed his gaze from her face as his hands met at her underbust.
“May I?” He asks, hoping he didn’t sound as nervous as he felt.
“Please.” She answered, arching her back off of the bed.
He wasn’t sure if it had been the way she sweetly exhaled his name or if the sight of her so eager to be felt by him caused confidence to surge through him, but he was grateful that she trusted him so much. Slowly, his hands made their way up her sides, stopping on either side of her breasts. Very gently, he cupped them at the same time, earning a satisfied hum from her.
“You’re warm.” She spoke, causing a chuckle to leave his mouth.
“That’s one of the reasons you’re with me, innit?” He asked, watching a smile form on her lips.
“One of many.” She answered, closing her eyes as his large, calloused hands began to completely cover her breasts.
It was a nice contrast of rough against smooth. She enjoyed the way his hands held her so perfectly as his lips began kissing down her chest. They moved to kiss her left breast, then her right, and each kiss felt better than the last. He loved the way her back arched into him; it told him that he was doing a good job so far, and he wanted to keep that up. His index and thumb fingers found her nipples, and he gently began rolling them between his fingers at the same time.
“Oh!” She moaned out.
Her hands reached out to grab his arms, but by no means was she trying to get him to stop. Instead, she pulled him closer, and her fingers threaded his hair. She could feel immense heat between her legs, knowing that as much as she wanted to take it slow, she wasn’t going to last much longer. Her eagerness aroused him so much that his erect cock was throbbing in his boxers. Yet, he didn’t want to rush anything, for her sake. The last thing he wanted was to wind up hurting her unintentionally. His lips continued their kisses along her chest, leaving light love bites here and there, before they trailed kisses up to her neck. One of his hands left one of her breasts to gently glide down her stomach and stopped just above the place she needed his touch the most. She moaned into his mouth, hoping to convey her feeling of arousal to him enough for him to be bold enough to touch her.
“Alfie, please.” She whimpered after they pulled away.
“You’re sure?” He hesitantly asked.
“Very sure. I need you.”
“Say less, my darling.” He hummed out.
He never removed his gaze from her face, his eyes boring into hers as his hands continued to move down her body while his mouth kissed every inch of her skin that was available. Finally, his fingers rested at her core, and the heat radiating from it was enough to make him groan in approval. Very slowly, his fingers circled her clit, and the look of pure relief flooded her face just as her head tilted back. Her back arched off of the bed and her hands found his hair to grab hold of.
“Alfie…”
The way she moaned his name had him circling her clit a little faster, wanting to see if the same blissful look would cross her face again. It did, and it made him so happy to see her enjoying his touch. His hands had done unspeakable things during the war, but none of that was important in that moment. Very slowly, he slid his finger inside of her, the accumulation of her arousal having made it an easy entrance. He slowly groaned as he felt her walls take his finger deeper, tightening around it while he gently moved it around inside of her.
“You alright, love?” He asked, earning a moan in response.
“More.” She breathlessly answered.
“You’re sure?” He asked, slowing his movements.
He stood up with his finger still inside of her, but he froze in place when she gave him a look of pure need.
“I want you to make me yours.” She answered with such a seriousness that had his heart fluttering in his chest.
“You're…sure?” He asked again as he hovered over her.
“Yes.” She answered.
His free hand made its way behind her head, lifting it enough so their mouth could meet for a loving kiss. He removed his finger from her aching walls and that hand swiftly slid down his boxers. No longer was there a barrier between them, and while it made her nervous, she found herself excited to finally be one with her boyfriend. He adjusted himself between her legs, gently parting them even more. When she caught a glimpse of his erection, heat flooded her face. It looked much too big to fit inside of her.
“Do you want to stop?” He asked, having seen the way her eyes went a bit wide.
“No.” She quickly answered.
“Make me yours.”
Slowly, he brushed his cock along her soaking wet lips, causing them to slightly part. Then, very gently, he began pushing himself inside of her. Their groans harmonized for a few seconds as he stayed put for a few moments, allowing her to adjust to him. Everything felt so warm and so right when their lips connected once again.
“You feel amazing.” He heavily sighed, the sound sending pleasant shivers up her spine.
Her walls clenched around him each time he moved, the motion carefully done before he drove himself deeper. He held her body close against his, hoping to ease any pain that she felt. They lasted several minutes in that same position before her legs were wrapping around his waist. Their eyes met, and he could tell that she wanted more. Without hesitation, he wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her impossibly closer. The speed of his thrusting increased, and it wasn’t long until both of them were moaning messes. She didn’t even have time to process the entirety of what was happening to her before she felt an all too strong sensation flood her body that caused her senses to be at a standstill. He stopped moving, wanting to make sure she was alright as her high ended a moment later. He peppered her face with gentle kisses before his lips were covering hers.
“Freya, I…I’m close.” He warned her when he felt her walls fluttering around him.
She tightly wrapped her arms around his neck, preparing herself for what was to happen. He was about to move away from her to pull out, but she was quick to stop him by his shoulders.
“Fill me.”
A look of shock covered his facial features when he realized she was being serious.
“Please.” She begged, and the whine alone was enough for him to give in.
Hugging her to himself once again, he thrusted into her a few more times before he was groaning into one side of her neck. She softly moaned at feeling his hot cum filling her. He stayed inside of her for another minute before very carefully pulling out. He was quick to lay beside her, wrapping her up in his arms as she curled into his body. He reached for his discarded shirt, draping it over her as they both caught their breath.
“Are you okay?” He asked, being the first to break the comfortable silence that filled his bedroom.
“Yes. Are you?” She softly asked in return.
“Yes.”
“Thank you.”
He looked down at her and gave her a small smile.
“Love, I should be the one thankin’ you for trustin’ me so much.”
“Where are those two rascals off too again?” Freya said to herself looking around from one room to another.
It has been a while since they moved out from Camden Town where Alfie was lucky enough to inherit a house near the beach. Margate was the name and it has been treating them fairly well where there was nothing else but a wonderful view of the sea and most of all quietness. But that wasn’t the only thing that brought the couple closer together.
The sound of a small giggle was heard somewhere beyond the hallways which Freya knew exactly who it belonged to.
“Alright now come out, come out wherever you all are,” called our Freya quietly tiptoeing her way towards where the chuckles were coming from.
After Alfie and Freya got married some 3 years ago they afterwards welcomed their first child. It was such a blessing for the married couple that Alfie thought it was all a dream. Ellie was the baby girl's name, brown eyes like her mothers with a mix of stubbornness just like her father. It was a day to remember when they heard their baby’s first breath. Ever since that day Alfie was determined to be by his wife’s side, not caring if the distillery could continue without him. What mattered to him the most was his wife and daughter helping Freya out whenever she needed some time away from the baby. One late night however when Ellie was crying for hours Alfie took the baby in his arms while rocking against a wooden chair. He started to sing a lullaby to her in his mothers tongue which surprisingly made the little creature feel at ease. He also didn’t notice that her tiny hand was tightly holding onto his right index finger. He then smiled as he placed a gentle kiss against Ellie’s soft hair.
“I love you my little Ellie always and forever.”
Freya continued to quietly make her way to the small giggles that she could still hear. Knowing that she is already near them wanting to scare them in surprise.
“Shhh… be quiet mama is going to hear us,” said little Ellie to someone else.
A couple of months later after the birth of Ellie, Alfie and Freya then welcomed their second child. It was Alfie that encouraged Freya to have another baby which she didn’t hesitate to say no to him. Nehemiah was the boy's name that was given to him. Just like his father he wasn’t afraid of anything, always liking to get into some sort of trouble taking no for an answer but always obeyed his father whenever he would go one step far. But he would also have his moments whenever he felt like he needed to talk with his mother. Trying to also find his calmer side of himself and getting as much advice from his mother.
“Whenever you feel angry or lost, always remember that I am here for you my love. And so is your father but just know that you're never alone my little one.”
“Oh you also be quiet Ellie I’m sure by now mama will hear us,” Nehemiah said playfully, nudging onto his sisters right arm not noticing their mothers presence.
“FOUND YOU BOTH!” Surprised Freya, making the two children scream from fright.
Both children got on their feet quickly running away from their mother which she wasn’t too far behind. She scooped Nehemiah off from the wooden floor yelping and laughing while Freya hugged him tightly around her arms. She then placed a couple of kisses on the little boy's cheeks while feeling Ellie hug her mothers legs.
“Haha mama let Nehemiah go, how did you know we were here?” The little girl questioned, still holding onto her mothers leg.
“You both were giggling and that led me to finding your hiding place. But enough of playing around you two how about we get the table ready for dinner before papa comes home. How does that sound, my darlings?” She said kneeling in front of her two beautiful children while they nodded their head in “yes.”
Some time later it was already dark outside as the cool breeze blew ever so gently while Freya and her two children waited patiently for Alfie’s return in the living room. The crackling sound of the fireplace was heard in the background while Cyril lay down beside Ellie and Nehemiah while the children played with their toys. Freya was sitting on top of one of the couches while looking at the clock, seeing that it had passed the time Alfie should be home by now. Quietly tapping her right foot against the carpet floor the trio then heard the front door open. Indicating that they had finally returned home as Nehemiah and Ellie then ran their way out of the living room to greet their father.
“Papa papa,” said both children in unison as Alfie opened his arms wide out to them while kneeling down.
They all huddled down to the floor making both children giggle at their action.
“How are my two lovely children doin’ eh? I miss you all very, very much,” Alfie said as he gently stood up off the floor while Cyril nuzzled his wet nose against his owner's face.
“I also miss you as well you big mutt.”
“Ummm excuse me where is my welcoming kiss? I hope you don’t forget about me Mr. Solomon’s,” Freya said, placing her hands on top of her hips but gave a cheeky smile.
“Hehe why would I not forget my lovely beautiful wife that always brightens my heart whenever I see her hmm?” He said getting up on his feet while Freya smiled and giggled as they both exchanged a kiss on the lips.
“Ewwww, gross,” said Ellie, making a disgusted face which Freya found funny.
Once the happy family settled down for dinner the night went on perfectly. As everyone feasted, Alfie and Freya held hands together as they memorized their beautiful little family. Not believing that they have come this far not expecting to have children this quickly. Alfie always thought he would only focus on himself growing his empire until his passing. But when he found Freya all those years ago as a child and saw how they both fell in love with each other. Suddenly all those ideas faded away seeing the perfect future already blooming in front of him. As dinner was ending both Ellie and Nehemiah started to grow sleepy while they all sat in the living room together. Alfie took Ellie in his arms gently taking her up stairs to her bedroom. Freya following close behind held Nehemiah in her arms while the child tried his best to stay awake.
“Mama I’m not tired yet really,” protested the little boy but Freya wasn’t having it.
“Now my dear don’t be that way, it is late and you need your rest. And we’re going to the beach and if you don’t get your sleep you’ll be tired the next day. Now be a good boy and rest your eyes now, yes?” She said as she opened the door to the boys room as he placed him down on the soft bed.
“Really mama, do you mean it? Oh I can’t wait to go now alright I’ll head to bed now,” cheerfully says Nehemiah as he gets himself under the bed sheets making Freya chuckle at this.
“Very well my little Nehemiah i will see you in the morning my love. Goodnight my sweet boy,” she said, placing a gentle kiss on top of the boy's head caressing his left cheek in between.
Once Freya quietly closed the door behind her Alfie was already out of Ellie’s room. They both smiled at each other Alfie held out his hand towards his lovely wife. Freya walked up to him placing her hand on top of his making their way towards their bedroom. Once inside Alfie gently shut the door behind him and without losing another moment he embraced Freya around his arms. They both looked deep into their eyes as their foreheads touched against each other.
“How is my lovely Queen Solomon’s feeling hm?” He asked, feeling her arms hugging around his neck while she let out a small giggle.
“Wonderful as always you know I always still question to this day. How did I get very lucky to have you in my life Alfie? Why me and nobody else?” She questioned him wanting to hear those same words over and over again.
“Hehe do you really want me to repeat the same thing over and over again? How many times do I have to tell you my love? Because if I never met you in my life I wouldn’t have known such a wonderful spirit free and goddess like you. And that I am grateful and blessed to say that you're my one and only woman. I wouldn’t want no one else but you my dear,” he said while gently placing Freya down against the bed hovering above her, taking in her thin lips between his.
Embracing each other in their arms they both laid there nakedly while Freya could hear her husband's heartbeat against her right ear. A small smile was spread throughout her face wanting to be like this forever. And all the while without Alfie not knowing Freya is expecting another blessing that was growing inside her womb.
I love you always and forever Alfie Solomons… until the ends of the earth…
Alfie Solomons has given up his days of risk and adventure to persure a passion of his that is moreso on the quieter side: being a librarian. And when his old friends from his days running one of the meanest gangs in Camden Town turn up wondering why he’s done this, he simply states that he’s “proud of what he has become”.

Requested by @wandawiccan60 , who wanted a librarian!Alfie moodboard based off of the character Evie from the movie The Mummy - I’ve never seen this movie, but I searched up the character and one of her quotes where she basically says that she may just be a librarian, but she’s proud of that stuck with me. I hope this is what you were envisioning. Thanks so much for sending an idea my way! ☺️💕 (also I found if you click on the picture, you’ll see it in better quality)
