In Summary, the Emperor kidnapped nine children and locked them away. He plans on raising them to become the next coven heads.
The kids I'll be writing,
Plant - Willow ( who was kidnapped on her 1st birthday )
Every year, the town lights up lanterns for the nine kids that were kidnapped in hopes they'll return home one day. In the towers, the nine kids are raised by the coven heads and told they can never leave. When they're old enough, they'll be transferred to the castle to become the new heads. Terra is also using Willow for her gain.
Luz and Eda are wanted criminals with both Kiki and Hunter hunting them down. Kiki and Hunter are competing against each other to see who can capture them first. Luz finds the tower one day and befriends the nine kids and gets Amity as her girlfriend. One day, Hunter follows Luz to the tower and finds out about the nine kids. He was never told why they were there or that they were the missing kids. On the day of the lanterns, the kids convince Hunter to take them to see them while Luz holds onto Hunter's staff. Replacement of the crown. And from there, the story begins!
Sneak peeks! And yes! I did musical numbers. Amity's voice actress is also a singer and there's no doubt Skara is a fan of singing. Gus is also a theater kid. Not to mention we've all heard a sound-alike voice for Luz in the "Ordinary" song.
And here are some rules I have for parodies.
I never copy and paste the story. I always have to change the story up so it can have a twist and not be so predictable.
I like to combine stories so you'll notice I added some of The Owl House plot into this Tangled AU. Ok, now that's out of the way, here we go!
"Wake up sleepy heads!" Viney kicked open the doors. Amity let out a short scream as she shot out of her blankets.
"Viney!" Amity held onto her fast-beating heart, "Why?"
"Did you forget?" Gus looked over Viney's shoulder and peeked at Amity, "Today is cleaning day."
"Every day is cleaning day." Amity sighed as she let herself fall back on her pillow.
"Yeah, but today is the cleaning day." Gus made sure to stretch out his words so his friend could understand. Amity's gold-colored eyes shifted for a moment. Trying to understand what he meant. When it finally hit her, she let out a small gasp. She kicked herself out of bed and looked at the calendar with hope in her eyes. When she saw what day it was, she let out an even bigger gasp while blush decorated her face.
"We have to hurry!" Amity slammed the door shut, nearly slamming it onto her friend's nose, "Where's my dress?"
Her friends laughed as they heard her rummage through drawers and throw clothes onto the floor, clearly excited and nervous.
"You left it in my room after last week, remember?" Gus chuckled. Amity swung open her door and rushed past them.
"I'll be back!" Amity's speed left a gust of wind making her friends smile at her excitement.
She dusted the bookshelf, swept the music room, and cleaned the windows. This was her life on repeat, just like the others.
The usual morning lineup,"
Skara threw the dustpan into the trash bag Amity held.
"Start on the chores and sweep 'till the floor's all clean
Polish and wax, do laundry, and mop and shine up
Sweep again, and by then it's like 7:15"
"And so I'll read a book,"
Gus jokingly threw a second book to her. Amity was known to be the bookworm in the tower.
" I'll add a few new paintings to my gallery,"
Amity chuckled and accepted the book.
"I'll play guitar and knit,
Just wonder when will our life begin?"
Chores were done. Lunchtime was here. Everyone dug into the food Amity made. Amity was like a mother in their friend group.
Pull up the bridge!" A short female demon cried out. The bridge started to rise. The human thief ran faster and made her way up on the slanted board. The Demon lady ran after her but with every second the bridge raised the stronger gravity pulled them down. The human made it to the top and looked at the moat then back behind her. The demon jumped and nearly grabbed her leg but she grabbed onto the ledge instead, preventing her from falling.
"Halt, In the name of the Emperor!" The demon commanded with a crazed, high-pitched voice. The human looked back down at the moat, took a deep breath, and jumped, "NO!"
The human splashed into the water and swam back up to the surface. She swam her way back to shore.
"Lower the bridge, lower the AAAAHHHHHH!" The demon shouted before screaming at the sudden drop. The bridge slapped into the ground, stunning the demon lady for seconds. She laid flat on the ground and groaned in pain.
"Hurry up!" A guy in a white cape and golden mask pulled onto her and ran after the thief. The two of them followed the human deeper into the woods.
"Hide!" Willow cried out as she came running in.
"What?" Luz pulled away from Amity, still holding onto her hands.
"The Coven heads are here!" Gus rushed in as well. In a blink of an eye, Gus pulled the girl away from Amity, nearly knocking them down.
"I'll be back sweet potato!" Luz claimed as she was dragged away by her cape. Her heels dragged across the hallway floor until Viney came running and picked Luz's legs up.
"They're on the west side, put her in the east," Viney warned.
"No," Skara grabbed Luz's left arm and tugged on her, "The attic, they'll never find her there."
"My room is safe!" Gus harshly whispered, "They never go there."
"One of the Coven Heads is coming up the stairs right now." Willow came out of nowhere and grabbed Luz by her right arm, "The laundry room is close by."
"Attic." Skara tugged even harder onto the arm. Luz let out a short yelp of pain.
"East room!" Viney insisted, pulling onto the legs even harder.
"Guys?" Luz tried to get their attention. The pain was increasing and she just wanted to run out the window at this point.
"My room!" Gus tugged onto her cape and made it tighten around her neck.
"G-Gus." Luz choked out. She couldn't even cry in pain anymore.
"Laundry room!" Willow leaned back and put all her weight on Luz's arm. This caused a gurgling scream of pain from the human.
"Just put her in my room." Everyone suddenly froze in place. This deep voice was all too familiar to them.
"Darius!" Everyone let go of Luz and let her fall. They all positioned themselves in front of her to shield her from the Coven Head.
"We can explain." Willow cleared her throat.
"Ah, you mean the stars." Terra giggled in her usual low menacing tone.
"No, they're not the star's mother," Willow ran to her desk and pulled out a map she drew of the sky. She had every star drawn out which surprised the Plant Coven leader, "I've been studying the sky for the past few years and while some stars do shift, none of them float or move in the pattern of the floating lights. And they only appear on my birthday, my birthday. And I can't help but like…… like they are for me."
"Where she go?" The Golden Guard lost track of the human girl. She couldn't have just disappeared. He looked around the room he just entered. The tower was much bigger on the inside than the outside. Or maybe the plantation gave it the illusion of being bigger. Vines decorated the ceiling while some wrapped around the bed and desk. Flowers of all kinds sprouted from the wooden floor while giant leaves hovered over him. It was like a jungle. He had to admit, whoever took care of the plants in this room, did an amazing job.
"Where am-" he couldn't even get one sentence out before a giant blow to his head. The collision was strong enough to stun the poor guard. His mask vibrated so violently that he swore his brain was scrambled. Eventually, everything went black and he fainted, leaving a scared Willow behind him with a trowel in hand. The plant girl looked behind her to see all her friends shaking behind a giant plant.
"Is he dead?" Luz whispered as she peeked over the leaf.
"Ok, the coast is clear." Caleb knocked on the edge of the laundry cart.
"Thanks for doing this." Willow crawled out and happily looked down at the edge of the giant wall. Was this happening? Did she just sneak onto the wall and about to leave the towers? Yes, she was and she couldn't wait. She bounced in joy and tried to keep in her screams.
"Ok, the coven's heads should be back by next week." Caleb reminded the girl. But before he could explain the plan, a shout of joy made him jump.
"And the lanterns appear tomorrow night!" Luz chimed as she hopped out of the cart, "So we have no time to waste."
"Luz?" Caleb was distraught at the fact she sneaked out too. He ran in front of her and demanded to know, "What are you doing here?"
"What? Did you think I wouldn't accompany my girlfriend to see the lanterns?" Luz laughed. Caleb tilted his head in confusion, "Girlfriend?"
"That's me!" Amity slipped out of the basket and gracefully landed on her feet.
"How big is that cart of laundry?" Caleb's face scrunched up in confusion and annoyance. How did he get stuck guiding these ladies to the kingdom?
"This is so exciting!" Luz squealed. Amity ran to her girlfriend's arms and the two held each other tight, both squealing in excitement.
"I hear the author of the Azura books lives in that town." Amity couldn't stop smiling. She pulled away a bit to look at Luzs flustered face.
"There's only one way to find out!" Luz chimed even louder. The girls continued to squeal and jump in excitement, annoying the Golden Guard even more.
"Ok, this is fine," Caleb took a deep breath in, "This is fine. I'll just guide these girls and I'll get my staff back."
"Ahem, girls and boy." Caleb's face nearly went red in frustration. Gus happily leaped out of the basket and winked at their guide, "I couldn't just let the girls have all the fun."
"Why?" Caleb desperately asked heaven above.
"Because I'm a sucker for adventure. And besides, I might finally be able to see a giraffe on the way," Gus gleefully answered. But before he could walk past Caleb, Gus got a hold of his cape and pulled him closer. His fun-loving expression suddenly becomes serious, "But if you mess this up, I'll personally make sure you pay. Willow has been dreaming of this day since she was a little girl. So this day means a lot to her."
"Uh?" Caleb's eye's nervously shifted side to side. Gus let him go before skipping to his friends.
"Ok? Ok! Four, four is not that bad." Caleb fixed his uniform and tried to assure himself that he can do this. Take them to the kingdom, stab Luz in the back, take their palismen and take them to his uncle. Easy!
"Ow!" Caleb groaned when he heard two more voices behind him.
"Six!" He didn't even need to look back to know Viney and Skara were struggling to get out of the cart.
"Willow?" Terra looked up at her kids' tower, no answer. This made her heart race in fear.
"Gus isn't in his tower!" The illusion leader ran up to her. His voice was just as panicking as Terras.
"Neither is Skara." Raine calmly approached their co-workers, almost as if this wasn't a big deal. Terra glared at them for their lack of fear.
"You seem oddly calm about this." Terra tried to hide her panic. This was serious! Not only are they missing some of the kids, but Willow's magic was the only thing keeping her from ageing. If she loses her child, she loses everything.
"Viney is gone!" The healing leader cried out. Darius wasn't too far behind, a look of annoyance filling his face.
"It appears Amity has disappeared too. But Boscha, Bo, Bria, and Celine are still here." The Abomination leader said calmly. He always knew the day would come when the kids would rebel. But he was expecting all of the kids to escape together, not just five.
"What do we do?" The healing leader couldn't figure out what to do next.
"Tell Belos?" The potion leader recommended.
"On it!" The healing leader ran off.
"I suggest we search for them as well," Darius said right away, "They couldn't have gotten far."
"I'll search near the mountains!" The potion leader ran off.
"I'll search the rivers." The construction leader wasted no time. One by one, the coven leaders ran off until it was only Raine and Darius. The two shared a glance and the same neutral look.
"Luz." They said together.
"I always knew Edas kid would help them escape," Raine commented, causing a scoff from Darius.
"You still talk to that criminal?" Darius said.
"You knew about Luz and never said anything." Raine glared at him.
"Children will be children. It was only a matter of time until they started acting their age." Darius dismissed their comment.
"But where did they run off to?" Raine thought out loud.
"Madam Snapdragon," Bria politely called her attention. There, in her gloved hand was a familiar-looking staff. White with a ruby on top and a gold wing, "I believe I know who helped them escape."
Terra let out a small gasp of realisation. She couldn't believe it, how did he find the towers?
"Great," Eda rolled her eyes when she saw the news Raine sent her. Luz got herself in a pickle this time, "Looks like mama is in a race to find some kids."
"Oooh!" King looked over his mother's shoulder, "Are we going to the kingdom for the festival?"
"Willow!" Everyone screamed for their friend.
"Caleb!" Luz jumped off the rocks and was about to dive into the water but an abomination hand grabbed her in mid-air.
"It's too dangerous!" Amity pulled Luz back to the boulder she was on. She took Luz's hands into her and looked her in the eyes.
"We can't just leave them?" Luz pleaded.
"We don't even know where they are!" Gus held onto the branch for dear life.
"Look out below!" They all heard Viney scream. The bridge broke apart even more causing the wood she was holding onto to be ripped off. With a huge splash, Viney was swept away by the water current.
"Viney!" Skara cried out, reaching her hand out as if she could save her. She ripped her hair tie off and took off her shoes. She took a few steps back before sprinting off the edge of the platform, "I'm coming for you!"
Skara clumsily dived into the water. And just like Viney, got swept away.
"Oh come on!" Amity face palm at Skaras actions.
The Bard girl came back up and loudly gasped for air, "I regret nothing!" She dramatically claimed as she passed by Amity.
Back in the cave, Caleb and Willow had given up on finding an opening. All they could do now was wait and watch the water rise.
"I'm so sorry Caleb," Willow wiped away her tears but that didn't stop her from crying. Terra was right, the world was a dangerous place, "I thought- I thought that….. I didn't think this through."
A moment of silence filled the air. Caleb's hands tighten around the rocks. He couldn't tell if he was upset that he failed his mission to Belos, or that he failed his mission to his newfound friends. Whatever the reason, it didn't matter now. They were stuck.
"Hunter." Caleb suddenly said.
"What?" Willow's sad voice was almost enough to break his heart.
"My name isn't Caleb, it's Hunter." He confessed with a voice full of regret, "Just thought you should know before we….."
His voice trailed off before he could finish. Willow looked at him with eyes full of sympathy. Why did he change his name? Well, since they're confessing.
"I can create magic flowers that glow when I sing."
"What?" It was Hunter's turn to question her confession. Willow kept her sweet smile before it dropped when the realisation hit her.
"I can create flowers that glow when I sing!"
And that's that. I just need to string the story together. Oh! Almost forgot my favourite scene!
"Here kid," Eda shoved a bouquet of flowers into Hunter's arms, "Give them to your lady while you're out there."
Hunter looked at the bouquet, a small smile forming on his lips. Until he remembered who was giving them to him. He glared up at Eda, red eyes full of suspicion. Eda snorted out a laugh before explaining.
"I bought them." Eda lightly punched Hunter's shoulder, urging him to hurry. Hunter's eyes gleamed with glee when he heard this. Maybe Eda wasn't as bad as Belos said. The boy rushed away and held the flowers close to his chest.
"I bought most of them." Eda clarified. Hunter paused in his tracks. Before he could say anything, Eda zoomed past him on her staff.
