often procrastination is described as putting something off because you're afraid you won't do it as perfect as you imagined it, specially in study or creative contexts, you put off starting on an assignment because you set a high expectation for yourself and you're so afraid the real thing won't measure up... i want to extend the sentiment to being afraid period, afraid that you will mess something up big time if you try to do it, afraid that you'll put yourself in danger if you go out or drive or cook right now, waiting for the right moment when your head is clear enough to do things safely, but what if the moment doesn't come for days, weeks... and everyone thinks you just don't care, but you're trying to avoid an accident, you're trying to avoid making a bigger mess than you started with, you're worried you will hurt your friends if you are not present enough to react to their art and life stories with the care and attention it deserves, you're worried you'll break your favourite mugs when you try to wash them, you're worried you'll forget the pot on the stove, it's tough
