In the Spanish Gravity Falls dub, the “My ex-wife still misses me..but her aim is getting better!”
Is translated as “My ex-esposa todavía me quiere…¡me quiere matar!”
Roughly translating to “My ex-wife still wants me… wants me dead!”
Do you overheat? I've recently realised that I overheat very easily but also somehow don't notice when it happens..? Well, more accurately I start feeling very uncomfortable and upset but can't pinpoint the reason why. This past year we started using a fan when it's hot and I figured out that when I stand directly in front of it during those moments of unexplained frustration I suddenly feel better. This is after YEARS of struggling with this!! Now both me and Mike know a possible way of helping me when something's feels wrong which is great.
God could you imagine how mad geologists must have been to slowly watch the "hey all the continents kinda fit like puzzle pieces :)" guy get proven right
It was a woman that did it!
I love girl talk, especially when it’s complex geological theory

Add onto this the constant feeling of being overwhelmed. You didn’t get the laundry done yesterday and now there are piles of it. You forgot to take out the chicken so now you’re trying to throw something together for dinner at 9 pm. You forgot to order your prescription and now it’s the weekend so you’re going to go without for 2 days. There are dishes in the sink. You forgot to plug in the vacuum so now you can’t even clean the floor. There are hobbies you can’t do because you’ve convinced yourself you aren’t allowed to experience fun until the work is finished. Slowly, it all builds and you are left sitting there with so much to do and the inability to organize tasks leaves you paralyzed and lost amid everything! Honestly, you fucking break down crying because you feel like an incomplete person incapable of caring for themselves.
Do not talk about your abusive family on tiktok. Do not talk about your closeted identity on tiktok. Do not talk about your traumas and mental illnesses on tiktok. Do not talk about your plans to move out from your abusive household on tiktok. Do not talk about the ways you disagree with your bigoted family on tiktok.
Do not attach your face or voice to anything on tiktok that you do not want your family members, neighbors, coworkers, or classmates to see. Be smart and stay safe.
Before posting ANYTHING on tiktok, ask yourself what could happen if your video is recommended to someone who recognizes you in real life.
If you're talking about your abusive mother, what will happen if one of her friends sees your video? If you're talking about being a closeted trans teen, what will happen if your friend's parents see your video? Will there be consequences? Will you be in danger? Are you in a safe enoigh position where that information getting out wouldn't put you at risk? What information do you want circulating about yourself?
Hey, I'm seeing some concerning tags on this post so I want to clarify something:
Your parents not using tiktok/not being good with the internet in general does not mean you're safe from them finding your videos. I have a cousin who posted about her mom's abuse on tiktok and that video was recommended to a family friend who showed it to her mom.
Your videos could be seen by a classmate who tells their parents who tells your parents. They could be seen by a teacher who calls your parent about them. They could be seen by one of your parents' coworkers or your cousins or your siblings or one of your neighbors or a hundred other people who could eventually lead it to your parents somehow.
Do not attach your face to this shit. Do not share any identifying information. Tiktok specifically reocmmends videos based on location, your phone contacts, and any other social media you're connected to. Your videos will reach someone you don't want seeing them, even if you turn off location settings.
How tiktok uses your location, even when you turn it off.
How tiktok uses your phone number, contacts, and other social media to make recommendations.
I grow our own vegetables. Many hybrid and heirloom varieties are bred for flavor rather than for commercial appeal and travel. There are entire species on the allotment that you can’t easily buy in stores because of this - like salsify, a root vegetable that tastes of fish and shellfish. Our neighbours happily take it to make vegan latkes of alarming similarity to fishcakes. You cannot sell it in stores because - despite looking like a white parsnip - it turns brown when you pick it if you scrape/bruise/cut the white root in any way, or damage the delicate little hairs, for some reason, it BLEEDS RED and is very upsetting to look at.
There are whole classes of foods like this. Foods that just don’t ship well or look good on supermarket shelves. Forbidden fruits. Vegetables that bleed and taste like meat. Sorry about this
This website is one of my fav places to find interesting heirloom stuff! I ordered a bunch of seeds to try growing next year I’m really excited about!

I’ve gotten and plants seeds from that site, Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds, and they grow fantastically well for me.
I’m really looking forward to next season
Baker Creek Heirloom has good seeds but bad politics. They were going to host Cliven Bundy of the Occupation of Malheur National Wildlife Reserve who’s also pro the Capitol Riots and has made a lot of racist nastiness, although backlash made them cancel their guest list (which included other racist folks) Good sources of heirloom seeds:

Highly recommend Native Seed/Search and Truelove. Baker Creek has an amazingly large catalog and has some very cool and rare stuff, but they are also Mennonites and as you might expect, they do have terrible politics as listed above, although they do some decent work preserving heirloom seeds from threatened communities.
An organization that does really interesting work preserving seed from threatened communities (and larger companies like baker creek often piggyback off of some of the work done by orgs like this and NS/S) is the Experimental Farm Network. They are very explicit about their (left-leaning) political views and you don’t have to worry about them being Problematic. They have lots of interesting and rare varieties and species you really cannot find anywhere else.
An important part of our mission involves preserving and sharing seeds from communities under threat, and attempting, wherever possible, to
If you are looking for a wider selection of heirloom seed varieties, these two companies are very good resources as well, and carry many of the same things as Baker Creek. Afaik they are not expressly political beyond their general mission to preserve heirloom seeds (although southern exposure does a good job of preserving some very traditional african-American heirlooms from the Southeast US in particular).

i’ve seen multiple. multiple. so many autistic people who lose speech sometimes, call themselves “im nonspeaking.”
yes. not even “going nonverbal”going nonspeaking.” but fully “i’m nonspeaking.”
i’ve even see autistics who lose speech do an imitation conversation on tiktok that goes like this:
“i’m nonspeaking”
“but… you’re speaking right now?”
“yes! you can be nonspeaking and still speak! follow me to learn more!”
and like. i’m begging speaking autistics to actually learn from nonspeaking advocates.
so many of them are just. seeing the cool new word “nonspeaking” from another fellow speaking autistic who lose speech. and then go like, “oh that’s cool word that’s me now!!” while completely divorced from the origins of the word, completely not knowing nonspeaking advocates exist, completely appropriating the word.
many of them they unable to think of a world where someone more marginalized than them where someone have experiences they can’t relate to.
and when you point it out, hey it’s not your word, they say “well it’s my term too!!”
it makes me so so angry. and unfortunately it is a pretty prominent dominant narrative of one side of online autistic community
online autistic community often not safe for me. angry and cynical because it supposed to be my space too.
hey, what does "nonspeaking" mean exactly and what are the origins you're talking about? Like could you highlight the main differences and why you shouldn't use it? I would do it myself, but I don't really know much about it at all, and honestly, I think that when making a post to raise awareness on the appropriation of a term; it's best to highlight what specifically is wrong with using that terminology; considering many of those you're talking about probably use it because, as you said, some may see a new word and, without being made aware of the nuance or meaning, apply it to themselves.
(Though it's clear you made this post out of frustration; and mentioning that it's a problem, even without explaining why that is, can reach people who need to look into it and give them a reason to do so.)
can someone explain, please? [thanks]
Ok I'll try to explain things a little, but please know that I struggle comprehending long texts, so it's possible that I'm a little off topic now and then or leave out questions 😅
At first there was the term nonverbal for autistics who never learned how to speak more than a few utterances, or who can't speak verbally at all. This is an official term.
Some of us who are considered nonverbal found the term "nonverbal" unfitting because we don't simply communicate nonverbally, we communicate with signs or written words, etc. So some of us coined the word "nonspeaking", to indicate that we may not speak, but we stil can communicate in other ways and may be able to read and understand others, etc. "Presume competence" is the key word here. (Nonverbal and nonspeaking is a personal preference, we use it interchangeably, but those who prefer nonspeaking often will be pissed off when you call them nonverbal, because to them this means you think they're incompetent and talk over them. It's about self-advocacy).
So nonverbal is an official term for autistics who can't speak more than a few utterances ever. Nonspeaking is a term coined by us for us, only. So this is the appropriation part: You take a word we coined for us to advocate for ourselves and make it about something that has absolutely nothing to do with us being marginalized and oppressed, no, you actually make it about yourself 🤦🏻♀️🤔🤷🏻♀️
Then, about nonverbal... There are people who think that nonverbal/nonspeaking autistics can be trained out of their inability to speak, which isn't true. But if you say "going nonverbal", you push this idea that it's possible to make a truly nonverbal/nonspeaking autistic speak if "we just practice hard enough". Because "I saw this autistic who went nonverbal and when they were forced to speak at first they struggled, but THEN they got a couple of words out, so if we just try hard enough, it's possible for every autistic to speak!!"
Many of us are put in therapies where they force us to speak because they think this is the right thing to do. But a method like that will only make us anxious at best, and extremely traumatised at worst.
So this is the very bad thing about using the term nonverbal when you actually are verbal but sometimes can't speak anymore. There is another thing that isn't very bad, but still bad nevertheless:
We are ignored. Once again. You will look up nonverbal and only find autistics who are verbal but can't speak anymore from time to time. It doesn't matter that you differentiate in adding "going" in front of "nonverbal", search engines don't care about that. Everything is about verbal autistics who struggle with speech under certain circumstances. We are ignored. The thing is that you can spread awareness outside the internet because you can speak. Haha. And we? Well, we're being ignored as always.
Now a thing that is simply annoying:
If verbal people who can't speak under certain circumstances share their experiences and tag these posts as "nonverbal"........ Then we, who are nonverbal/nonspeaking, will browse our(!!) tag to find relatable experiences and only find off topic posts. And yeah, you can imagine that it's a little annoying to browse a tag and find it littered with off topic things.
Before you ask: There is a term for autistics who sometimes can't speak: Losing speech or speech loss episode. But I've heard of people who don't like the "losing" part of the term, they prefer the "going" because that implies slowly moving into a certain direction. So you all are absolutely welcome to invent new terms for your experiences. This then will be a term coined by people like you for people like you and we nonverbal/nonspeaking autistics will not use it, because that too would be appropriation then ☝🏼
Phew, it took me very long to write this and I hope it answers your questions and made things clearer, I definitely have a headache now from trying to get my thoughts into words 😅
Okay fuck it if this post reaches 666k notes by the end of 2023 I'll practise basic self care
Why 666k? Because it's funny and impossible so good fucking luck
Well, OP, I’m officially invested in this shit. Your whiny ass is doing self care if I have to drive to your goddamn house and do it for you.
By Talos this can't be happening
reblog this everyone i wanna see what happens when op’s reverse-hubris forces them to practice basic self care.
why? because it’s funny and completely possible actually so good fucking luck op
I figured out roughly how many notes it's been getting per day and multiplied that by the number of days left until the end of 2023
If we keep it going at this rate we'll be far past 666k
IMPORTANT
Okay so clearly I've underestimated y'all
So how about we make this more interesting?
I will practise self care if this post reaches 666k BY THE END OF 2022
Op you have fuckethed with the devil this post has gained 30,000 notes since I reblogged it last night
OP I hope you are ready to practice some self care because if there's one thing the gremlins of tumblr love it's a challenge.
i normally hate these "oh noo don't give me a ton of notes" posts but this one? this one i love.
posts that have 666k notes TO ME. and hopefully to you, too, OP. 💜
Let's all practice self care if this post hits the magic number…
YALL HELP US
@bigfootshonkers @dollopheadsandclotpoles @gwaine-the-rock-johnson @hannahhook7744 @knightofwoodsbeyond @reality-schmality @thirteenthedoctor @yoursassybookwormfriend if you want to of course @fuckyeahsnackables
Op telling us we'll never make it to 666k by the end of 2023 (only having to make it 2022 after all):
Us:
I was going to wait until y'all hit the mark, But I feel like I should say this now
When I made this post, it was supposed to be a joke
I mean, none of my posts ever get more than 20 notes if I'm lucky, so what are the odds of one reaching 666k? Impossible, haha
But then, something happened, something I didn't expect
People actually began to... like it? And... reblog? And comment?
Before I knew it, my notifications were swarmed with comments after comments after reblogs after comments all on this one post
Then, still in the mindset of this being a joke, I realised I'd made the goal too easy, so I upped the stakes
But... the notes just got more frequent from there
And it started to hit me just what was happening
For a while, I was overwhelmed with a feeling
A feeling I wasn't used to
It was like... all of a sudden... I mattered...
My existance was actually noteworthy
People actually... cared?
It wasn't a game anymore, it was a race to assure a stranger on the Internet that they were actually worth something
Hundreds of people all gathering in one online place to help out
Leaving messages and well wishes
Making me smile
Making me laugh
Funny comments
Jokes
Fun facts
Even simple comments
It all suddenly felt so real
This was never a joke to you
This was important
And I won't let any of that go in vain
So... stay tuned I suppose
I'll look after myself, and I'll post proof of it too
I'll catalogue every time I put my health first
Physical and mental
I'll acknowledge my bad days and celebrate my good days
But most of all
I won't forget this
Any of this
Ever

We did it babes we successfully bullied someone into self-care. This is the most Tumblr thing that has ever happened.
Congrats, OP. I'm proud of you!
Yes!! And if you let us know how it goes, and what parts you struggle with, maybe we can help with that too. If something feels overwhelming and like it exhaust your soul to do, then there is almost guaranteed to be other easier ways to do it. Even if it is just us helping you break it down to smaller, more easily manageable parts, reminding you that not all laundry needs to be folded, or that all food is good food when you struggle, no matter how "unhealthy" it is considered (unless you're allergic, I guess). You deserve to be compassionate with yourself and live a life where you are not constantly overwhelmed ❤️
A bit of trivia: A lot of people don’t understand what it means to “Count sheep” to sleep. In reality it’s an Insomnia treatment method where you pick a random topic where there might be several examples that fit the criteria “Disney witches” for example or “Films that feature Dracula as a character.” It can be anything at all. "Movies with Danny Elfman musical scores.“ You don’t Google the answer. You lay there and try to think of things that fit the topic you chose and count them. That’s how you really “Count Sheep.”
Pretty much, yes.
