i'm trying to fight the second one but THE VOICES-
“Sometimes people don’t want to hear the truth because they don’t want their illusions destroyed.”
— Friedrich Nietzsche
When the male lead and female lead make it to the end of the story without kissing
@sketchy-panda
I know this might make people mad, but absolutely refusing to even attempt to treat your mental illness, and instead just endlessly inflicting your unmitigated episodes on the people around you, is abusive. Your loved ones are not stress toys that you can just squeeze every time you feel bad. It is bad if someone says your repeated behavior is hurting them, and you take no steps to change. I know damn well that you can’t always help how your brain acts, but I’ve also spent a lot of years trying to stop my spiraling brain in its tracks, work on strategies to calm down, and consider the impact I’m having on others, because I grew up in a household with people who have the attitude of, “I have the right to consume all the attention in the house and drain your energy every single day because I feel miserable, and you’re the bad guy if you say that I’m making you feel bad and that I need to get help. I can treat you however I want because of my anxiety.”
Your mental health is not your fault, but it is your responsibility.
Thank you thank you thank you thank you for saying this
Piping hot take: I don't give a shit if straight actors play queer characters as long as they do so with empathy and authenticity. When you say shit like "only queer actors should play queer characters" what you're actually saying is only OUT queer actors should play queer characters. If you're assuming an actor (or anyone else, for that matter) who hasn't declared their sexuality is straight, you are participating in heteronormativity.
I’m personally a huge fan of Eddie “all genres of music enjoyer” Munson and Steve “doesn’t know any song titles or bands but knows a lot of songs” Harrington. For example:
Steve *is cooking and singing In The Air Tonight phil colins*
Eddie *walking past and overheard *: Phil Colins, nice ;)
Steve: so that’s what that song is
Robin *in shock from across the room *: how do you know that?
Eddie: bcuz Phil Colins is good???
Robin: Steve sing another song
Steve *rolls eyes in defeat, doesn’t argue and starts singing the first random song that pops into his head*
Eddie: oh that’s the bee gees! Come on give me a hard one to guess
~~alternatively~~
Steve: hey Eddie! What this song?! *immediately starts singing*
Eddie: ohh that’s Freedom by Wham
Robin:
Sometimes knowing spoilers for shows is more fun cause u get to spend the show being like how the fuck does that even end up happening ..
pisses me tf off when i’m just scrolling and i accidentally click an answer on a poll and it’s not the answer i would have clicked. it makes me feel like im fucking with real scientific data and ruining the outcome for people who spent their life gathering this poll data. i’m so sorry i ruined your life’s work with my clicking.
Uncomfortable facts of life:
Nobody's going to magically swoop in to rescue you. You can't just sit there and expect someone else to come save you. You have to get your shit together and do it yourself.
About 90% of the time, the "it" you have to do on your own is pushing yourself to walk up to someone else and use your words to say "hey I need help."
"I did it for you" has gotta be my favorite form of betrayal. You gave me a gift I never asked for, and now I have to look around at the world you destroyed with the knowledge that it was gift wrapped and addressed to me.
"God never gives you more than you can handle" is survivorship bias. People who got more than they could handle are dead.
Oh, dear. I can't reblog that fast enough.
