Long answer: Trans activists hijacked and colonized the women's movement and the gay community, and even other movements such as BLM and disability rights, so now every protest has to be about "trans" people. No group can protest, fund-raise, or advocate for just themselves without pasty Gen Zers with neon hair and creepy middle aged men in wigs screaming about how they're the most oppressed people ever and it's their right to rape and kill anyone they disagree with.
"Trans" people and their allies have spent the past decade bullying everyone into submission, ostracizing and threatening anyone who questioned or criticized them, making every march, movement, and slogan about themselves, and destroying women's rights and the gay and lesbians communities from the inside.
This left the door wide open for conservatives to come in and finish us off. If it wasn't for "trans" people and their allies, we would've likely still had a solid defense (class/female/gay solidarity) against the rise of the far right, and Trump may not have been elected a second time.
But instead we have tribalism, insane amounts of violence, hate, and censorship, struggle sessions, and fractured movements that are mere shadows of their former selves, and it's all thanks to "trans" people and their allies.
They tore our communities apart, stripped us of our hard earned rights, spaces, and resources, and then mercilessly beat us until we lay on the ground, unable to defend ourselves from the MAGAs, who finished the job by simply walking up and setting our bruised and bloodied bodies on fire.

I live in a conservative area in a red state: you would not believe the amount of people I've talked to personally who have said "I don't have a problem with gay people but this transgender nonsense is too far. I can't support this." Actually, you probably can believe it, because it's happening everywhere and not just with conservatives but other left leaning people as well.
Even the most conservative normie can understand gay. You don't have to do anything to be gay, you just like the same sex. They might not like it but we were moving towards an overall "live and let live" sentiment. They do NOT understand transgender and they do NOT like it when it's applied to children. That along with the inordinate amount of perverts in the trans community, browbeating anyone who speaks out of turn, and being overall hostile and dismissive to anyone who questions it has turned a lot of people against the LGBT community. It became too unrelatable, too confusing, and too weird for a typical person to accept.

I still stand by my original statement that the trans movement HELPED Trump win. They tore the Left apart AND re-convinced conservatives that we were all perverts coming after their kids.
The trans movement also made a lot of women and gay men politically homeless. Suddenly, women were forced to accept perverted men in their spaces, we can't say breastfeeding, lesbians and gay men are being pushed to have sex with the opposite sex, and children are being exposed to porn disguised as queer activism. The trans/queer movement latched on so tightly to the LGB community that we can no longer properly separate them, at least not easily.
So we have the liberals, standing on their soap boxes promising to expand the reach of these types of men, allowing them access to vulnerable women, telling children they're in the wrong body, calling exclusive same sex attraction transphobic, and promoting bullshit female erasure in medicine.
We also have conservatives, promising to remove males from women's sports, prisons, and shelters, that they'll enforce proper sex markers on legal documents, and remove perverted lessons from schools. While also fighting to get rid of abortion, birth control, no fault divorce, and gay marriage.
So if you're a woman or a gay man, where are you supposed to go, politically? Both sides are against you. So some are voting conservative on the idea that the can win back abortion, birth control, and gay marriage, while others are voting independent or abstaining.
And this isn't just an American problem. America is a big old dead canary in this coal mine though. This is happening globally, I see it in Canada. Where do we go? Nobody cares about women or gay people. It's all about pandering to the TQ+.

I also wanna say that I graduated undergrad with one of my majors being âwomen and gender studiesâ in 2018 and trans people were not mentioned in any of my classes. My main, brilliant professor with phds in both womenâs studies and psychology (I know itâs more specific than that but i donât remember) had us reading about and discussing socialization, men as an oppressor class, micro & macro examples of sexism, and systemic misogyny. We talked and read and wrote about female liberation. We discussed a ton of feminist theory and various feminist authors. We focused heavily on the intersections of misogyny and race, sexuality, and class. And the focus was always women and our sex based oppression. This sexist trend of dismissing or diminishing misogyny and dancing around the reality that women are an oppressed class is new and fragile. Less than 10 years ago genuine feminist sentiments were gaining mainstream traction. We can make up the lost ground.
The treatment for gender dysphoria is medical misogyny.
Treating gender dysphoria via social identification reflects what happens when misogynistic male doctors (all foundational gender doctors and psychologists were men) are allowed to come up with treatments with no oversight from medical boards that have policies in place that protect women.
The fact that the "treatment" for gender dysphoria involved teaching males that they're entitled to be seen as female and that all women should immediately trust and submit to the word of she/her identified males- is the type of disaster that can only happen when misogynistic male doctors are allowed to be practice in a way that's totally insensitive broader social issues.
There's absolutely nothing about the history of the world that indicates believing males and allowing them to enter female spaces is a safe and effective treatment for the public. There's absolutely nothing male human beings have done to earn that level of trust from female people. But they went ahead with this suggested "treatment" with zero regard- because that's what male doctors have been doing for centuries: ignoring women's needs and prescribing treatments based on whatever makes men's lives easier.
Identity has become the axis of so much university activism because, for all the radical posturing associated with it, identity politics does not threaten the established order of society. It promotes a moralistic and self-indulgent anti-politics, where a personâs use of language and the purity of their thinking matters more than confronting collectively the material conditions and social relations under which they are forced to live. It creates a simulation of political struggle - one that doesnât merely fail to challenge the material inequality and unfreedom of late capitalism, but fundamentally aligns with the dynamics and interests of its atomised, spectacle-driven society. It is a perfect mirror of consumerism, playing-upon the individualâs desires for real freedom, only to perpetuate and prettify the conditions of their alienation.

Donât you just hate it when brown people reject your white saviourism? So rude! Such mannerless ingratitude greeted the Global March to Gaza last week. These valiant few from the US, the UK, Ireland and elsewhere had planned to trek to Rafah in Gaza to save poor, hungry Palestinians from Evil Israel. But they came unstuck in Egypt, where instead of welcoming these fearless foreign liberators of the benighted Arabs, local folk ridiculed them, pelted them with plastic bottles and roundly told them to fuck off. Wait, you people donât want to be saved by a plummy white lady from London in a keffyeh?
I know thereâs a lot going on in the world right now, but can we please not overlook how unbelievably hilarious it is that the Global March to Gaza has been thwarted by angry Arabs. That this swarm of pompous gits who fantasised that they would shield the Arabs of Gaza from the âgenocidal lunacyâ of the Jewish State were instead roughed up by the Arabs of Egypt who donât want their nation used as a stage for moral masturbation by every puffed-up Palestine fetishist of the West. That instead of getting bottles of water to Gaza, these people had bottles of water lobbed at their own heads by pissed-off Egyptians. The mirth of it all might just get me through the rest of this year.
The Global March to Gaza consisted of 4,000 people from 54 countries. They had planned to walk to the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and Gaza where they would have âdemand[ed] that Israel re-open the border [and] create a humanitarian corridorâ. How the Jewish State would have trembled before this mighty delegation that included a gaggle of anoraks from Welsh CND, a British art curator called Tasmin and a bald politician from Ireland! Honestly, one doesnât know whether to laugh or cry at the unworldly vanity of this dishevelled army of weak-chinned Westerners who really thought they could finger-wag a war out of existence.
Some of the marchers were from North Africa. Others were from the West. Like the self-styled âempathetic humanâ from the UK who said âI endeavour to do what our governments have failed [to do]â and âmobilise [my] passion and humanityâ. Or the Brit who lamented her âprivilegeâ of being a âwhite, north European living in relative peaceâ and promised to do something worthy for once, like âlend my presence to this causeâ. Or the Canadian who said âI canât ignore my conscienceâ. All Iâm hearing is I, me, mine. Was it really Gaza they wanted to liberate or their own morbidly obese egos?
Sadly, by which I mean hilariously, their cloying pity for Arabs crashed against the reality of Arab self-respect. I am still not recovered from the sight of these self-loving midwits in their culturally appropriated keffiyehs being shouted down by Egyptians in real keffiyehs. On the road to Ismailia in northern Egypt, the marchers were stopped by security forces. So they gathered in a square by the mosque and chanted âFree, free Palestine!â. Locals werenât best pleased. Well, would you be if a gang of pious pricks from afar rocked up in your town and started yelling political shit near your place of worship? The locals shouted at the âempathetic humansâ. They threw plastic bottles at them. White Saviour card, declined!
The outsiders hollered âShame on youâ at their Arab critics. Yes, in English. These are the kind of people who look down their noses at Brits who holiday in Spain and never utter a word of Spanish and yet here they were barking English-language insults at Egyptians in Egypt. There will never be a better representation of the phoney virtue and haughty self-regard of the âpro-Palestineâ set than this dystopic image of Westerners in Arab headgear screaming âshameâ at real Arabs who just want to go about their day without encountering some tit from Britain âmanifesting passion and humanityâ.
Some of the marchers were arrested. They were bundled on to buses and taken to the airport to be returned to the âprivilegedâ lives they hate. They were âshockedâ by their treatment. Why? Anyone with even a fleeting knowledge of Arab politics will know that Egyptian officialdom is iffy about the Palestine issue. They donât want the Gaza tragedy leaking into their already troubled land â hence, Egyptâs border with Gaza is if anything more militarised than Israelâs. The childish moral fables that the Westâs white-saviour classes tell themselves â where Israel is the source of every ill in the Middle East, if not the world â took one hell of a beating in Egypt.
The farcical state of âpro-Palestineâ activism is best summed up in that viral clip of a Welsh male nurse begging Egyptian cops to have a heart. He weeps as he pleads to be let through so that he might help the poor people of âFalasteenâ. The children are starving, the womenâs breasts are empty â prove to the world that Arabs have âwhite heartsâ and let me pass, he says. This is the âpro-Palestineâ movementâs Four Lions moment. Indeed, if I ever write a satire on these keffiyeh pricks, this is exactly what will happen: an emotionally incontinent white man in a keffiyeh will holler âLet me save Palestine!â as bewildered Arabs raise a what-the-fuck eyebrow.
The hilarious collapse of the Global March to Gaza follows Israelâs thwarting of Greta Thunbergâs ship of fools. That watery clown show, where 12 moral preeners imagined they could land in Gaza and âsaveâ its people, was likewise motored by a toxic mix of political infantilism and moral self-importance. From grumpy Greta being flown home to that Welsh dude being memed and mocked across the internet, the cult of the keffiyeh is in trouble. Many can now see that the aim of this activism is not to feed people in Gaza but to feed the vanity of Westerners bored with their privileged lives. Itâs an orgy of Orientalism in which the activist class cosplays as Arabs because they think itâs lame and shameful to be white.
Thatâs what âpro-Palestineâ activism is now, everywhere from the keffiyeh-fest on the lawns of Harvard to the ludicrous white-saviour theatrics in Egypt: a fairytale for self-hating, time-rich Westerners in which Arabs are always the victims and the Jewish State is evil incarnate. It has no basis in truth, of course, but then truth is not the aim: moral absolution is. Cry more, Israelophobes â your sanctimony is crashing against the shores of reality.

minimum wage was $1.25/hr. at 20hrs/week, that's an annual income of $1300. a part-time minimum-wage job could literally fund your entire education, keep a roof over your head and food in your belly, and you'd still have a little money left over to buy toothpaste and beer.
you could literally jump up a full socioeconomic class (from lower-middle-class/blue collar to upper-middle-class/white collar) simply by working a part-time minimum-wage job while you studied. which, as any of us who've done it know, is hard work. it's genuinely difficult to work 20hrs a week while taking a full courseload, and I imagine it was even harder before database searches and google docs.
or let's look at it in terms of homeownership instead. the average home sale price in 1965 was $21,000.
let's say money's kind of tight for you - you have a full time job that pays just enough to meet your needs, not enough to really save up. but you're a first-time homeowner, so you're eligible for an FHA loan. let's say you want to save up $1,100 - just over 5%. so you pick up a second part-time job working retail - at the average hourly retail wage of $1.82/hr in 1965. maybe you work 16 hours a week. you're working a full 8-hour day, 7 days a week. that's brutal. but if you could keep that up for a year, you could buy a house.
