I ADORE Sarah J Maas, having finally read her work during first and second lockdown in 2020.

Yesterday i decided to make little postcard size art inspired by the Acotar and ToG series.

Im thinking of making more for other quotes or possibly just doing fan art based on key scenes or characters from the books or other series i love

Its been a great way to combine my love of books with my creativity

In December 2020, I was made redundant from a role I adored. A failed interview for one position led to me impressing the company enough to offer me a role as a graphic design assistant, despite no formal training or experience.

9 months down the line, i have gone from someone who only ever doodled and made handmade cards, to someone who can now navigate with confidence a range of design programmes and creates bespoke items daily.

Turns out its never too late to learn a new skill. Its also a bonus that now i get paid to be creative ❤

Today i finished a piece for my friends wedding. Its possibly the most complex illustration i have attempted to date. 18 hours of work and I hope she loves it.

My name is Cat, which is often incorrectly spelt as Kat. As a result I am very used to people saying 'Is that Cat with a K', to which I inevitably reply, 'No, Cat like the animal' Well today I was overworked, under caffinated, and apparently not on top form. Give the customer my name, and they go 'like the animal?' and on auto pilot I respond 'no...', panicked and finished with 'like the fish'

Clown Phobia 🤡

Whilst not 100% sure on the origin, i have a deep seated fear of clowns, mimes and living statues (that last one I totally know the reason). Most of these I've been terrified of since before I can remember. I watched IT when I was 19 and it properly freaked me out (my best friend was sure it wouldnt be that bad) Flash forward to now... When I am a 29 year old writer for a magazine, and have been asked to read the book, and compare it to the original movie, and the remake... I haven't even started yet, but last night had a severe night terror about being attacked by Pennywise whilst I was reading the book... This is probably not a good sign

Today I went to to work whilst suffering through the side effects of my annual flu jab (headache, sore throat, husky voice, etc) I got into a conversation within the office where one of my colleagues said ‘you sound like a spy in one of those old movies’ and without thinking I replied ‘Yeah, I totally feel like Deepthroat’ whilst making eye contact I have never heard my office go so silent as a collective, whilst he stared at me in stunned horror Apparently I’m the only one who has an interest in American Political Scandals

*my body* wow - 3 day weekend, you got plans *me* quite a few. Today I cried for 10 minutes because I couldn't think of the word Koala, and was forced to describe them as "Australian tree pandas" until my boyfriend realized what I meant

I just considered attempting to play ‘TURDIS’ in words with friends before realising

1) It was a U not an A 2) TARDIS is sadly not a valid play 3) I giggled way too much at the thought of “Dr Poo in his TURDIS" to be a grown ass adult
