instead of a brain there is a mini haunted house in my head
listen to me, this is so so important: you've gotta get used to really giving it your 60% as a default. like don't half-ass it necessarily but try not to go over 70% or so of an ass. you'll feel better and live a happier more fulfilled life, and on the rare occasions where you do need to lock the fuck in you'll be able to pull off bullshit that the sad miserable wretches giving it their 100% can never dream of, because they're busy draining themselves dry and you have energy reserves to spare.
This.
"Do your best" doesn't mean "Always give 100% of your full overall potential" it means "In any given moment, give it all you've got to spare."
I don't usually have 100% to spare. I usually have a good 30% designated towards keeping me and my loved ones alive, and another 10% towards not losing track of my to-do list.
On the up-side I've been repeatedly told my "half-assed" is better than many people's "110%".
I've learned when to aim for a C.
I've also learned that when I aim for a C I still often get an A, because showing up consistently, however half-assedly, turns out to be a good 90% of the need being met, actually.
So please, for your sake and everyone else's, don't do everything you can, just do your share.

you have to forgive the printer because it's one of the most machine-ass machines we interact with on a day to day basis. that thing says kerchunk. hardly anything says kerchunk these days. you can't get mad at her when she kerchunks up a little.
Crazy that tech has gotten so bad that we're doing printer forgiveness now
you should be able to right click things in real life and see how old they are
somewhere out there is information on when these streetlamps were erected and who put them up, it’s just not information available to me. and i don’t like that. i should know everything forever.
came across this image on pinterest and straight up almost burst into tears…. vibes for JUNE
oh i'm going to misusle and straight up fuckle this knowledge so badly
HIGHLY recommended putting a pillow in the backseat of your car because today i took a 45 minute long nap during my lunch break. when i returned i learned my boss had been running around all lunch looking for me to ask me a work question and i had inadvertently avoided All That by being unconscious in the parking lot #winning
I asked if this was an art installation and a Danish person said "no this is quite a serious impedance"
Gotta tell you guys something wild in the Chinese fan sphere
So some fanartist drew a “sexy” (read: booby) version of a (cartoon) character who is traditionally very non-sexualised. Fans of the character got mad about it because it’s kind of groundbreaking how that character is written and portrayed and this art totally ignores the entire point of the character. They demanded the art be deleted. In response to that other people said, well what the fanartist did may be distateful but they have every right to draw what they’re into. The two sides fight for days and each starts a harassment campaign and even report their “opponents’” accounts.
So far so typical. But things eventually come to a head and they decide that this will be settled by votes - not through a poll. Through donations to a children’s education charity via each side’s portal. Whoever can get the highest amount of donation wins.
And that is how this charity received over 1 million in donations in three days lol. Oh btw the “freedom of expression” side won by a landslide (960k to 40k)
huge fan of when cats reach out and touch each other with disrespectful intent
