Intro Post, I Guess
Hello, Tumblr! Call me Alex. (She/They) I am 27. I am a published author, but I'm a bit of a maverick in the field. I published through Amazon and Draft2Digital, yes. I sell my debut novel and will sell all subsequent novels for $5.95 USD through those platforms. But I ALSO publish my work on both ScribbleHub and RoyalRoad, completely for free! Why? Because I believe art should be created regardless of capital gain. I'm not in it for the money. I work full-time. I can provide for my family.
I am not looking for beta readers, editors, publishers, marketing services, or paid collaborations of any kind. When I mention 'my work', I am speaking about the work that I have published, the work that is both complete and freely available. Unsolicited offers will be politely (but strongly) declined or ignored. If you want to discuss the work itself, such as themes, craft, or if you have any questions you would like to ask, I welcome all of that on my public platforms.
If you want to tip me, sure. Go ahead. Buy the EPUB. Share it for free if you so desire. But I ask that you do not try to make money off of my work behind my back. That's fair enough, isn't it?
Now, if you want to engage with me, I may seem cold. I may act indifferent. That is not because I don't care about you, human reader. It is because anytime someone interacts with me over the internet, I do not have any way of knowing whether or not I am speaking with a human, or giving a machine more input. I will remain professional to a fault. I will not break that professional mask. This is for my sanity, as I cannot allow the internet to consciously inform my identity.
If you made it this far, congratulations! You still have an attention span! Thank you for sticking with me through this intro. I will be around, largely in the Aspiring Author's Guild community lol.
May harmony find you, Alex Riven
