milkstore -> i really love milk. i like the image of my blog 'selling' bottles of milk. it is a metaphor for sharing things i really like.

thomine -> although it's just thoma + mine, the reason why i wanted to merge 'mine' with his name was because of the lyrics "you weren't mine to lose" from taylor swift's song, august.

malovedaptive -> i found the term 'maladaptive' through maladaptive daydreaming. added 'love' to spice it up. (ultimately, unhealthy or not, it was an adaptation to survive and i'd say there is love within the will to survive.)

firestun -> fire (lighter's element) + stun (lighter's type).

shoyosh -> a play on shoyo and the 'yosh' noise he likes to make. also 'yosh' as a onomatopoeia whenever he gets the zoomies.

xiayz -> yizhou is caleb's chinese name. i thought it was funny that if you abbreviate his full name, it is just xyz. xyz is not available as a URL and wont make sense so i used his surname bc i like summer.

dkniade —> Dusk + “kniade” (knife + blade). “Kniade” was the surname of an old Soul Eater OC and their weapon form is a knife so… kind an edgy weapon theme, knife + blade. The letters look kind of nice with the ascenders like that. Dkniade isn’t really something to be pronounced I guess (more like a “title” than a “name”) but if you had to add one then in my mind it’s read kind of like “denied”. /ˌdɪˈnʌɪ.eɪd/? /ˌdɪˈnʌɪd/?

Thanks for tagging me! Now I'm curious what the witty name you came up with was, but the ones you have now are certainly fun. Made me think of the joke shipname kock lmao.

I don't really have a story behind mine. This blog has had many names, usually related to greek mythology, but I finally settled on this one a few years back and I think it works pretty well. The thought process behind it was that I use this blog as an archive of sorts, which is why I tag everything conscientiously, to my friends amusement. Also, I'm passionate about theatre and tragedies, my header is Faustus and my icon Narcissus, so I feel like when you open this page the general feel is that of scrolling through a collection of tragic tales (as well as the gay art). It seemed fitting.

The trek sideblog is just the date of First Contact with the Vulcans, because I long to see that day.

I already know the story behind most of my friends' users, but if anyone wants to explain theirs you're more than welcome to! I'm pretty curious about @youcouldbewonderful and @justablah56 tho if you wanna share

i originally got the name Veil from Welcome To Night Vale, which i heard of through a dsmp rpf fanfic and didnt realize was an actual thing. i liked how mysterious the word veil/vale sounded.

and then in.... the start of 2022, i believe, when i seriously started getting involved in fanspaces, i had been lurking for a while [since the start of january 2021] and i felt both a) very invisible and b) very scared of being Percieved in any capacity. i didnt want to be seen; "hiddeninthe-veil" got that point across very succinctly. i felt very clever lol.

fun fact! i was originally planning on having an anonymous sideblog for something i now forget-- her name was going to be emily and his url was going to be lookingtothe-stars. the only remnant left of them online is my letters to emily tag.

Hmm I’ve always used Mack as a nickname, so usually some part of a username will include it :D it used to be Mack1098, because I loved 10,9,8 and it was part of my first ever kahoot username ‘mackandcheese1098’ which. I shortened lol

icara comes from Icarus, who. Well. That is one story I was always a little obsessed with, for the very dramatic yet vaguely stereotypical reasons I related to it 👍 and I wanted a nod to it online! and Icara specifically comes from the neuter plural or feminine n.singular endings in Ancient and Possibly Also Modern Greek, my teacher really drilled into us ‘remember remember every day, neuter plurals end in A’.

I liked the idea of changing the typical masc. Ικαρος to Ικαρα and even if it did not make a lot of linguistic sense I smushed them together :)

I actually have a sideblog I never use! Under Icarus-Blogs as a nod to my main :D. I was going to avoid scaring my followers with my mcyt obsession by using that blog. And then I remembered I don’t have followers anyway :)

I once got my wrist broken in two paces by a cousin close to my growth plate and the first ER we went to told my parents that it was a fracture and I was stuck in an uncomfortable brace for like 3-4 weeks until a doctors visit said “No, that is a broken wrist you need a cast not a brace” so I got put in a brace for like 4 months so it could heal. A teacher even took my brace cause I kept messing with it cause it was crazy uncomfortable and even hurt a bit.

I have a scar on the top of my nose between my eyes that almost touches one eye. I got it jumping off a bunk bed and hitting a ceiling fan and having to get stitches as a kid. I get anxious about it but I love it regardless

I have a bad tendency of getting lost anywhere and going into stranger's cars when I'm walking down the street and they ask if I need a ride. But it's okay cuz I turned down the last one. Learning my lesson 💪

I thought for the first 14 years of my life I was an identical twin but turns out I'm fraternal. I look exactly like my mom and she looks like my dad but we can pass off as each other and have successfully.

Ever since I was a child I felt insecure on how dirty my ears felt so much so that I would always clean them with a cotton bud/swab at least twice a day. It all went downhill at the age of 13 when a piece of cotton got stuck in my ear and I had to go see a doctor because my ears started to bleed and I couldn't hear anything. Sadly, I never grew out of that habit and now take medicine for my ears.

One time, i took like 5 shots of vodka and then went to the bathroom to do my business. i was wearing a skirt and leggings and i get really warm when im tipsy/drunk, so i was like "enough of this" so just as the toilet finishes flushing im trying to take off my leggings (ive pulled up everything else at this point i was decent) but tripped bc my shoes were on (it was a shoes on house) and spun and tripped, and the bridge of my nose hit the tank as it was filling back up (with clean water!) and shattered it.

My nose did not even turn red.

When I was 7 I saw a movie where some guy swung on some drapes. My friend's house had some big curtains so I tried to swing on them and I ended up tearing them off from where they were secured on the ceiling. The beam hit me on the head.

I didn't want to get into trouble so I ran outside and pretended that I was playing in the backyard the whole time. I haven't told anyone this until now.

There was one time when I was a kid, and my grandmother was giving me a bath. Our bathroom was downstairs, and it was an "open" bathroom (meaning there's no glass pane dividing the shower and the toilet) and one of the wooden doors leading to it was bady water-damaged and rotting.

On that day, a small chunk of wood fell off the door, and I picked it up. Then i asked my grandma what it was, and she jokingly told me it was a piece of chocolate, and that I could eat it.

Regardless, I hardly remember any of my childhood, most of what I’ve remembered are either vague as hell or came from my sister and/or parents.

Like this one time, my sister told me that I ran like hell into the living room while my mother was furious.

The reason?

I’ve thrown a ball in the kitchen and hit the stove where she was cooking spaghetti and it burned her.

Uhhh. Once I broke both my wrists at the same time. Both Dance Dance Revolution and Olympic Ropes were involved. I had to have two casts for six weeks and it sucked. I wore woven anklets for six years as a teen and never took them off, they left a thin line of white skin that only recently faded. I’ve got a triangular red scar on my wrist from accidentally scraping myself on a doorway on the day my church’s sister school suffered a shooting. I sat with my friends for nearly an hour in front of the drive and prayed and after asking a bunch of reporters to please leave us alone we weren’t at our best. I didn’t notice my wrist was cut until the wound was roughed up enough to scar. I used to stare unblinkingly at adults until they get creeped out, mostly because i had no pain response and it got attention other than Abject Hatred, as was common for autistic kids.

this whole post is so insane 😭😭😭 ummmm well so when I was in elementary school I fainted while we were taking school photos (we still don’t know why lol) but I was on the top bleacher so 1. I fell off the back of the entire bleacher but didn’t feel anything cuz I was unconscious lol and 2. They took the photo as I fainted so in the class photo my eyes were rolled back and 4th grade me looked high 😭😭😭

Oh and also once I got a migraine so bad that I forgot my best friends name and also forgot what a banana was (I called it a “yellow fruit”) and after my mom picked me up from school because I had been texting her gibberish for half an hour and the school nurse called her and then I started mumbling incoherently and we had to call the nurse hotline lol 😎😎🥵 and I still get these crazy migraines but we don’t know why that happens either 🫠 pretty sure I forgot English at that point 💀👁️

Update:
