Batfam : Batman, Alfred ( Batman's Butler), Nightwing ( Adopted son ) , Red hood ( Adopted Son ) , Red Robin ( Adopted son ) , Robin ( Son ) , Oracle/Batgirl ( Friend's Daughter) , Spoiler ( Someone he sees as a Daughter) , Orphan/Black bat ( Adopted Daughter) , Signal ( Foster Son) , Batwoman (Cousin) , Batwing (Family Friend)

It gets more complicated if u look too much into it but besides that they are just this Found Family.

On the other hand

Supers : Superman ( The Country pumpkin Reporter ) , Supergirl ( older cousin now younger ) , Superwoman ( Wife who sometimes has power and sometimes doesn't) ,Superboy ( Clone Who is half his Arch nemesis) , Also Superboy / Also Superman / they just call him the son of Superman / Tomorrow man (His son) , Superboy Prime ( Evil him from a normal earth turned good ) , Krypto ( His Dog ) , Bizarro ( Him from a 180° world )

And that's not even all of it 😊

I saw someone go "can we not normalize Damian being raised as a weapon without real emotions or feelings or a normal childhood?" and i think i'm genuinely speechless. Because, what?

Damian WAS raised as a weapon. That is fact. Kid was put through the fucking wringer since birth. Depending on the writer it's harsher or 'softer', but point remains that Damian was raised in what's essentially a murder cult with his only purpose being to kill and to take over the LoA or Batman's cowl one day. Even if we take a version with a softer blow (ex. one where Talia wasn't written to be horrible etc) he was still perma abused.

Nobody's normalizing that, it's just part of who Damian is, like how Dick's parents died or Jason died. It's an essential part of his character.

If we take that backstory and replace it with a normal childhood, none of his character development makes sense. Because the point is that he finally learns to be his own person instead of just the bloodstained sword he believes himself to be.

And nobody fucking said that he didn't have emotions?? Like, his feelings are the fucking point. The point is that despite everything Damian has so, so much love inside him. He regrets everything he's done, he even regretted it back at the league. But how are you supposed to escape a cycle of abuse and violence if you've been indoctrinated all your life? If you think that's normal? Damian was more than convinced that his way of thinking, that his compassion and empathy, were wrong so he pushed it down because Damian is starved for approval and is someone who wants to do everything right. It's only in Gotham that he learns to deal with it and to be himself. Being stoic or hiding your feelings doesn't make you emotionless or invalidate said feelings.

Coming to Gotham and becoming Robin didn't magically solve everything either. Damian was originally made to be hated by both the audience and other characters alike. But that's also the reason he is so loved now. People needed to know that the past Damian wasn't Damian but the cruel environment he grow up in and the one he became throughout the storyline is him finding out his own self. The self people begin to slowly fall in love with.

And those who think otherwise imagine yourself in his shoes. Think about your own mom cloning you to show you u are replaceable. Not like yeah you have a sibling kinda feeling but if u don't do as I say I would make a better version of you . Imagine your favourite and only living grandparent telling you he only kept you alive cause he wants your body. As a adult imagine an actual 10 year old being treated as Bruce treated him in the beginning. No matter what kind of kid they are they need more attention than whatever Bruce gave him in the beginning.

Everyone improved including Bruce. But Damian's whole childhood passed with him not feeling free or ever knowing that he could take a break. Only as a teen did he actually let it all go.
