dont play defense
people who say they are trans are trans. period. even if they “still look cis,” even if the only difference you, personally, notice is that they use different pronouns, even if they are totally closeted. people who call themselves trans are not cis. you do not get to un-trans someone because they do not present the way you want them to, or because they are closeted, or because they don’t pass, or for any other reason. if you see a trans person and your first thought is “gtfo trans spaces, you are not Trans Enough,” that is a you problem and you should square that away before you make any attempt to interact with other trans people.
some of us live in the real world, where it isn’t so easy or safe to be fully out or present the way we’d actually like. some of us don’t have access to the resources that would allow us to pass. some of us will never pass and don’t care about it anymore. and even if none of these things were the case, for fuck’s sake, presentation is not gender. nonbinary people who present in ways congruent with their assigned gender are not somehow less trans.
now that george floyd’s murderer is behind bars, let’s help support the people who helped with the guilty verdict as well as george’s family. the fight is hardly over.
darnella’s fund - darnella was the young woman who filmed george’s last moments.
gianna’s fund - george’s daughter who has now been left without a father.
Look I don't like every term or phrase people use for nb people either but can we stop pretending that they were all made by cis people to frame nb people as childish or to attack us or whatever when most of them were coined by nb people who found them useful or fun? I would never want to be called a "they-dy" (pronounced like "lady") but that doesn't mean it's like, some attempt by cis people to diminish me or prove my label fake or something. Just let nb people have fun and use whatever terms we want or enjoy. "I don't like a thing" doesn't always mean "the thing is evil and a personal attack against me/a tool meant to oppress me" or whatever. Chill.
This. I like enby for me. Stop policing me and others like me on the terms we like for ourselves, and fuck off outta here with 'actually enby is harmful for non binary ppl' like no tf it isn't? Go regurgitate the queer is a slur rhetoric elsewhere.
^^ I like enby too and I haven't seen a single argument that actually makes sense to me as to why we shouldn't use it... but even if it did, like, enby people could still use it? I mean we reclaim literal slurs so I don't think someone calling themselves "enby" is the end of the world, you know?
Plus giving exclus as a whole (yes including transmeds and truscum) is what’s ACTUALLY harming the queer community. Not people making and or choosing to use some cringey sounding enby terminology and labels.
CPD just killed a fifteen year old child.
a fifteen year old black girl was shot four times in the chest by columbus police in columbus, ohio.
as derek chauvin was found guilty, a black child lost her life to police.
we still don’t know her name, but we’ll scream it the minute we do.
“well that can’t be worse”
except it is.
except this child got jumped by the other girls present. she was afraid for her life enough to grab a knife and call the cops herself.
let me repeat that.
the black child that they killed was so afraid she called the cops herself.
they killed the very person who asked for their help.
and before you flip over the knife, they didn’t even ask her to disarm. they got out and immediately opened fire on her and shot her four times with deadly intent.
did y’all think i was kidding.
COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Columbus Police said one person was killed in an officer-involved shooting on the east side of the city Tuesday afternoon.
her name is ma’khia bryant.
i’m such a small blog but i’m begging y’all to spread this story. i can’t speak directly to this- no matter how hurt and angry and thrown by all of this i am, my voice isn’t the one that matters. i recognize that. but i’m still begging for this to not be overlooked. say her name, remember her- remember that this fight never ended, and keep fighting it.
derek chauvin being found guilty is a victory, but we can’t let that blind us to the fact that this has kept happening and never actually stopped. even if the protests went quiet, that doesn’t mean things changed. we have to hold them accountable and we have to remember those who have died and will continue to die beneath the shadow of everything else that’s happened this year.
my heart is going out to her family.
rest in peace, ma’khia.
in light of the absolutely horrific news about Ma’Khia Bryant’s death at the hands of the Columbus PD i just wanted to take a moment to link Loveland, a nonprofit that provides therapy to black girls and women if people are looking for support or people are looking for somewhere to support right now
ma’khia bryant was a 16 year old Black girl who called the police for help as she was getting mugged but was shot and killed with no warning minutes before the verdict for derek chauvin’s case was announced. here is the official gofundme for ma’khia, organized by her family. please boost this post and donate if you can.
4.15.21. Chicago
The mayor, police, and prosecutor lied about Adam Toledo being armed to justify that a CPD officer murdered a 13 year old who was unarmed and had his arms up (according to body cam footage released today but that I will not share). And the mayor has the audacity to ask for peace before releasing the video. Downtown is already closed. There is no reforming police, they are not an institution of public safety, all they can do is cause further harm.
They lied! In order to smear the name of a 13 YEAR OLD SEVENTH-GRADER the police killed!
Abolish police!
Rest in peace Adam Toledo.
Adam's mom's memorial fund is no longer accepting donations, but you can donate to and follow:

You don't have to pass around footage of police shooting a little brown boy to death to spread awareness or keep his story in the news.
People who are actually concerned and who would want to do something about it and support the fight against police don't need to see it.
The words are enough: Police shot 13-year-old Adam Toledo dead and then lied and said he had a gun in his hand at the time he was shot. He did not.
That's the story.
i was doing my usual “jump down the TERF rabbithole to increase the database for shinigami eyes” and i encountered a TERF that had deliberately added “TERFs DNI” to her bio, and then she bragged about it in a post a little further down her blog.
while I knew right away that she was a TERF, because she reblogged exclusively from known TERFs and the posts were direct rhetoric, I think it’s important that I spread this information for people who are not as well-versed in the way TERFs operate on this website.
TERFs hide in plain sight. it is not unusual for a TERF to put “TERFs DNI” or “TME” (transmisogyny exempt) in their bio. In fact, some joke that “TME” stands for “transmisogyny enthusiast.” They do this in order to avoid being reported and banned. They also do this in order to trick people into feeling safe and following them. That way, more people will be exposed to transmisogynist rhetoric.
Just because someone has “they/them” in their bio does not mean they are not a TERF. Nonbinary people can be TERFs. GNC women can be TERFs. Don’t let pronouns lull you into a false sense of security.
Crypto-TERFs are a thing. These are people who follow and reblog from TERF blogs, but avoid reblogging posts containing direct rhetoric so as to not be detected as transmisogynists. Someone might have a blog full of pretty pictures and art, but when you look at WHO they’re reblogging that art from, it becomes very clear that they endorse those beliefs. They also serve as a bridge between the TERF community and tumblr at large. You may follow someone because they reblog poems or art, and then feel inclined to check out the blogs they got that content from. This is deliberate recruitment tactic.
TERFs will sometimes have an about page or a pinned post insisting that they “aren’t a TERF” and “support trans people” but then proceed to write THE most transphobic garbage after it. The idea is to have someone skim the text, read the “not a TERF” part, and move on, while the rest of the text is intended to signal to other TERFs that they are, in fact, a TERF.
how to spot a TERF:
reblogs from other TERFs (obvi)
URLs that reference reproductive organs (like uterus, ovary, vulva, vagina, pussy, cunt, clit) are almost always TERFs. I’m sure exceptions exist, but I have never encountered one. Also keep an eye out for “rad” and “radical” (in reference to “radical feminst”/”radfem” - which is what TERFs call themselves.) Also, a dead giveaway, but I HAVE seen it: “TERF” or “Terve” etc. in URLs.
TERFs are radfems. Radfems are anti-sex work, lesbian separatists, bioessentialists, and misogynists. They spend a lot of time attacking other women for shaving or wearing makeup, for doing sex work, for dating men, and doing other things they personally disagree with. They also believe that men are inherently predatory. If a blog is spreading radfem beliefs, they’re either a TERF or a crypto-TERF. There is no such thing as “trans inclusive radical feminism.”
use of “TRA” (trans rights activists), “genderists” (transgender people), posts about “men invading women’s spaces” (they mean trans women), use of the word “female” - ESPECIALLY “adult human female” which is a well-known TERF slogan in the UK , use of this emoji 🏁 (”only two genders”), the phrase “sex-based oppression”, salem witch trial references (”we’re the daughters you didn’t burn”), and references to suppression (”i will not be silenced”), mentions the “S.C.U.M. manifesto” (a manifesto insisting that “the male sex” should be ELIMINATED. the author attempted to KILL andy warhol.)
bios containing: XX, radfem, adult human female, female, gender critical, terven (TERF), ex/former TRA, febfem (”female exclusive bisexual” - TERFs who consider all trans men and transmascs to be women/female. they are chasers unable to reconcile their sexual feelings for men.)
Stay safe! Terfs are fucking creeps. Don’t let these musty fuckers bully you or your trans friends!
Emphasis on the experience of being ‘socialized female’. Implying that not having been socialized female’ since birth means you’ll never have the same experiences that cis women have.
Uses ‘trafficking’ as interchangeable with sex work. Assumes all trafficking forces people into sex work. Generally doesn’t understand that trafficking is a migrants rights issue. Makes wildly exaggerated ‘X number of women are trafficked each year’ claims.
Feminist art means stuff with vaginas in it. General women = vagina, feminism = vagina things.
Makes vague claims that someone ‘hates lesbians’ (which just means they hate terfs or acknowledge that some lesbians are trans women or acknowledge that lesbians are attracted to trans women).
Uses ‘women who don’t prioritize women’ as derogatory code for bisexuality. Thinks bisexual women can’t use ‘butch’ or ‘femme’. Excludes bisexual women from queer women’s history.
Not every person saying just one of these things is a TERF. They might just have one shitty terf-adjacent opinion. Notice the pattern.
ugly ass weebs will do anything to call trans women tr*ps but then turn around and say ‘nooo it’s not transmisogyny these characters aren’t trans because i don’t want them to be so it’s ok to misgender them and call them slurs’ like hey douchebag you’re not convincing anyone that you’re not a gross ass transmisogynist
IM RIGHT AND I SHOULD SAY IT
I’m still getting notes on this post so I’m just reblogging so you guys can see the shit in the notes! Trans people are allowed to joke about being more valid then their oppressors <3
Yall gotta stop arguing w terfs cuz they dont care. It doesnt matter how right you are theyre using fake studies made by anti lgbt groups, hanging out on neo nazi sites, and just twisting anything you say. you can't debate a bigot into not being a bigot online. stop putting in effort and just block em (and ridicule them but block them)
ntm if you argue with terfs, they can and will go onto your blog. they will see trans womens posts that you reblogged (donations, selfies, anything) and with that they have found more trans women to harrass. arguing with terfs gives them a gateway directly to trans womens accounts. it doesnt change their mind, and it doesnt keep trans women safe.

It’s SB289 and it says that medical professionals (doctors, nurses, therapists/counselors, physical therapists, surgeons, etc.) can refuse treatment, testing, and a lot of other stuff due to their “ Conscience.” This includes prescribing hormone medication for trans people, prescribing contraceptives for people who need that, treating a person based on their sexuality, and withholding testing for HIV among other things based on their personal beliefs. They can refuse to treat, see, test, diagnose, prescribe, and counsel. The bill is currently on Governor Hutchinson’s desk awaiting signature

The trans sports ban passed, the healthcare refusal has passed. The last item is the extreme healthcare ban. Please continue to advocate against that. Chase Strangio is an ACLU rep who has been collecting info about all of these bills and how to fight against them. All photos are tweets that are on their timeline.
It is trans week of action & there are still more states you can help fight these bills in like South Dakota & Alabama.

This is my state, this affects me. Here is a link to information about how to contact Governor Hutchinson to urge him to veto the bill. Please signal boost; our biggest hope right now is drumming up a national outcry
Thank you Chris Mosier for elevating the fight in Arkansas! HB1570 is at Governor Asa Hutchinson desk. We need to ensure he vetoes the bi
