hello! i am Atlas or Varjú, i go by a few different names, feel free to use whatever! i am an alterbeing, at the beginning of my journey :3
this blog is to share my own experience and thoughts on alterhuman identities, sort of like a diary. if you've decided to interact and take a look, i am most honored! i will get deeply personal with some topics, in hopes of reaching others like me and connecting, as well as trying to understand myself better.
i studied 2D animation, so it is very dear to me. i draw and animate in my free time. i like trying new ways of expressing my creativity, for example through more traditional mediums, recently sculpting with clay and painting on canvas.
making my own jewelry and accessories is a goal i am working towards, as well as modifying my clothes myself. i reject fast fashion where i can, and thrift/ receive most of my clothes from others.
in high school i focused on biology and wanted to be a veterinarian, but realized it wasn't for me unfortunately. i however still have a great interest in biology, at the moment primarily in cat and horse genetics, but would like to get back into studying it.
one of my main interests is human rights, sociology and queer history. i mostly learned what i did from personal retellings, movies and video essays but would like to do my own reading in the future.
regarding religion, i am agnostic. i believe that my alterhumanity comes from me being neurodivergent (not sure how, i've tried self-diagnosing before but it makes me feel worse about it, but i know something is up) and growing up with many animals. i feel it is also inherently connected with my gender, so being nonbinary is to me the same as being alterhuman. i however have a great appreciation for most religions, especially my culture's ancient animistic one.
i am interested in quadrobics and making gear, and would like to post content of it later. i do not yet have gear that would make me feel comfortable enough to do it outside of home, or to post. but soon enough!
eating would be fine if it was only a recreational activity. instead, its a horrible sisiphean nightmare and you need to do it every day without fail on threat of pain and death
Jayson, pronouns any/ask/mirror or just whatever the fuck you want I really don't care but at the moment I'm leaning more toward he/it:3
Heres the thing for the bottom right flag btw if anyone's curious. I'm not going to go into all my xeno genders 🥲
I'm gonna tag random moots that I don't ever interact with this time guys wish me luck @atlasastrum @domestic-werefox-1985 @icomb-ici I make an exception for u cuz I don't think I've tagged you in a while @zqu1nt @gyaru-lioness +open tags cuz I'm lazy :3
pronouns are they/it, and he/him when i feel comfortable with it but only a few people use that for me :3 i go by many a names but for now let's say Atlas!
tags!!! if u want to participate regardless, do join, and if u want the tag removed let me know! @neighhhh @shifterswolverine0 aaaa that's it now im nervous to tag others
i think we should be ridiculing them more for this. you don't get to try and go all "queer website" when your staff likes to go on nuking sprees targeting the trans fem users
would be remiss not to mention that the rainbow notably straight up just removed the trans flag colors from it. like they’re gone. it’s the progress flag minus the trans flag colors.
this june , please do sincerely listen when intersex people talk about issues , life experiences , and identities .
some words have violent history directed towards intersex people . if one would not argue that cisgender people can freely say tranny , then should not argue that perisex people can freely say hermaphrodite . no , scientific term is not defense for this , as even sciences phase out use of this term for alternatives with clearer definitions . hermaphrodite was always meant to devalue humanity and deviation from " human standards " - scientific use for animals come as result of that devaluation , not just coincidental .
ASAB indicate nothing about one's actual life circumstances . this is label for what doctors decide sex to be based on infantile measurements , and that decision may include surgical force . even so , external anatomy do not always match expectations for internal anatomy , chromosomes , and/or hormones . phrases like " AFAB chests " mean nothing : say breasts , say breast tissue , speak clearly .
ASAB is also not indicator of how childhood go . some intersex kids will grow up with gendered expectations that change between places and time periods , never really just one . some will grow up with gendered expectations , but always lower class of this gender , free for others to take away and wave around as threat . some will grow up and have puberty that defy these expectations , then get legal reassignment to correlate . several of these things , as well as others not stated , may be true at once . if intersex person say that childhood relationship with legal sex , personal gender , and/or gendered expectations was complex , do not pretend that this is too uncommon to care about - stand for one another , not against .
if intersex person identify with genders that do not seem to make sense , do not disregard this as simple troll . some intersex people will be cistrans , where experiences of gender fall into both modalities . some will be transfemmasc , or even cisfemmasc , because of how people degender and/or inconsistently gender . understand that most free and intersex-friendly definition of transgender is not one which rely on personal deviation from AGAB , but on personal deviation from any form of gendered expectation - be that legal , societal , or simply personal history .
understand that personal freedom from gender binary is not enough - need universal freedom from sex binary .
I'm not a therian but pls reblog or something if youre an adult therian. I need to find more nonhuman blogs, a lot of people on here who identify as animals are children.
human ears are such bullshitttttt i cant even emote with these. whats the fucking point if i cant swivel my ears in ur direction or like perk them up when i hear something interesting or point them all back when something scary happens. whats even the point
not much progress on my gear these past two weeks, i bought a very bad kind of synthetic fleece and once i tried glueing it on the masks i realized it wasn't going to work out, so i took it off.
haven't been able to get felt since then, i decided i am only willing to work with felt now because to me it looks a lot better and seems more pleasant to work with. i don't even know why i thought the fleece that was available to me was a good idea :^(
so many things are happening at once, but i am really looking forward to finishing at least the masks next month 🐾
both trans men and trans women are punished for our proximity to both feminity and masculinity. people decide when we are men or women based on what is the WORST option at the moment. we both get treated like women only when someone needs to infantalize us or call us bossy, bitchy, stupid, vapid. we both get treated like men when someone wants to demonize and paint us as violent, predatory, abusive, perverted. NONE of us are benefiting from any gendered privilege, because we are always treated like the worst of either gender depending on the scenario. this is something all trans people experience, regardless of agab, both trans men and trans women. so why do we assume that the other side has the opposite experience as us?? why do you think that because your life as a trans man or a trans woman is painful, that a trans person of a different gender must have the opposite experience?? like i just dont get the preschool level understanding of gender like "well boys and girls are opposites so of course our experiences are opposites too" we are living the same transphobia and if you cant see it you need to listen to other people more
I want to staple this post to the foreheads of a huge swath of the trans people on this site. Specifically here and at this time. My IRL trans community, my other online trans communities, all get this. Granted those are both significantly more curated but still. WE HAVE TO HAVE EACH OTHER’S BACKS BECAUSE NO ONE ELSE WILL. I don’t get what is so hard about that concept. We are all having the same sorts of experiences. I have more in common with my trans-femme girlfriend than my cis ex. And this is NOT because I was badly matched with my ex. Maybe my girlfriend injects her hormones with a different size needle than I do, but we’re both still holding a fucking needle you know???
Anyway, trans solidarity is a matter of basic survival right now. Stop doing the fascists’ work for them by turning on your trans siblings. It’s actively dangerous.
I couldn’t become a misanthrope. Humans are far too complex to be shoved in one side of the “good-or-evil” box. In my eyes it confuses me to place so much distain for a species, as they are neither “good” or “bad” as a whole. Like any animal, humanity is raw. Hungry and thirsty. Stumbling around like any mammal trying to survive.
But that’s just from my experience living amongst humans, and I’m fortunate to have bumped into many that are some of the kindest souls out there.
I hope you don't mind me adding this, but I find this conversation very important, especially because there are many young people in alterhuman circles who need more education. Not just them, everyone really.
Misanthropy directly feeds into eco-fascist and nihilistic worldviews, which paralyzes leftist movements that actually do something. Believing that humans are inherently power hungry, awful, and apart from nature, viewing people as pests upon the earth and saying that the only way to solve what we did wrong is for humanity to die out, then you're not doing much better than the common folk who don't give a shit about our effect on the ecosystem and laugh green movements off in favor of their dictatoric billionare politicians.
Blaming a whole species for why everything is going to shit and acting like you're better doesn't make you above everyone else. Being alterhuman doesn't put you above humans. Adopting this worldview is a very immature way to see the world. If you think this way, sooner or later you will likely get lost in all the hate you brewed and feel like everything is pointless, but this doesn't absolve you of your responsibility. You CAN do something to make things better. There are people doing so many things to make things better.
Read books, learn about why capitalism is harmful for the earth and us, join movements, learn about your local issues and how you can show up to help, go vegan, etc etc there are so many things you should and can do starting today. Humans are beautiful, and are not apart from ny other creature on this planet. You can do better.
Can you alterhumans stop using the word mutt you have people thinking the harassment of being a therian is more important than the harassment of being the racial fucking minority the slur is against

If this gets enough reblogs and enough people are educated, I will come back to this account and go back to posting. Share this with accurate words and into the accurate communities
This is super super important and a topic that is significant to me personally.
Mutt is a slur. When you use mutt in reference to human-bodied beings (even yourself) it perpetuates the idea that it's okay to call people that slur. It hurts beings within the community and humans outside of the community. Please do not perpetuate the dehumanization of people of color.
The use of this slur may not be a common problem where you come from, but there are many places and contexts where it is still a big problem, and people coming across your posts may not recognize that.
Being a therian and a racial minority is extremely difficult and as a community we should strive to be as inclusive as possible to critters of all colors.
Adding image IDs under the readmore since they're long!

Honour: "one of your pronouns, (mutt) is a racial slur and those of us the term is used against feel very negatively about human bodied individuals using the term for things like names, identities, and pronouns. The problem is that even if you can reclaim it (which I always assume the benefit of the doubt and assume a person is able to use the slur they choose to make their pronoun), it furthers the belief that the term is okay to use. White people think "mutt" is an okay pronoun because they saw someone else use it with no disclaimer that it is a reclaimitory slur, if that makes sense. Sorry to be a bother, I went to your profile because your pride flag thing seemed interesting and I was curious, but as someone who is viscerally uncomfortable with the word, I felt the need to let you know instead of digging further into your profile"
PsychWolf: "I specifically use said set of pronouns as it connects to the mix of what my labels are - being alterhuman, therian/otherkin, and the sub sets of xenogenders I am (fauna, pup, etc). For a shorter explanation that doesn't get into deeper more personal chunks of my identity - I do not view myself as human or human bodied ( also please do not refer to me as such) . The closest is more specs of it throught my perception like sand in sugar or salt. I originally was introduced to using them do to the large mix of species that were related to said identifies and the fact it didn't belong to one singular breed. These are common in these spaces"
Image 2:
Honor: "While your reasoning may make sense to you, there are a multitude of other terms that can mean mixedbred dog, and ignoring the request of someone who is genuinely affected by this use of a word which is, no matter what you believe, a recognize racial slur, is wrong. I did not call you a human, but you do need to understand the fact of the situation. You may not be human and I am not here to tell you otherwise. But mutt, when used on someone with the /body/ of a human, is a racist SLUR. You are choosing to label yourself with a slur and trying to excuse it in the face of someone the slur is against."
PsychWolf: "The line about not referring to me as human was added to include the point - not a human body. The top message was explaining the meaning behind using them - as in alterhuman and therian spaces it is commonly used for a long list of reasons"
Honour: "I didn't see a reason listed that trumps the fact that you are using a racial slur and encouraging others to use it as well in reference to you while continuing to have to clarification anywhere that the word is a racial slur"
Honour: "you are sporting a slur against me in a gif. asking people to refer to you as a slur against me, a racial slur. The word does not only have history in meaning mixed breed or unknown breed animals,"
Image 3:
PsychWolf: "It isn't used in the therian and alterhuman communities because they " like the term" it is used do to the existence of mixed breed animals, and for a larger chunk of the community that do not have singular species identity because of the issues they faced because of said identities. As multiple groups spent years harassing them which lead to it spreading and other issues that I don't have the current spoons to go into."
Honour: "you haven't answered any of the questions, you are just deflecting. I am a therian, I know that the therian community has the ability to coin new terms. I know that there are terms that are not related in any way shape or form for people who have multiple, complex, confusing, mixed breed, and other similar relating theriotypes. there are options that are not slurs. people like yourself who choose to continue to use the term are, in fact, using it because they "like the term", because if you had any genuine care for anyone in any minority besides your own, you wouldn't use a racial slur as a fucking pronoun. being harassed for being a therian is not equal to being harassed for being a racial minority and you know that. again, I ask: Why, in any position or universe, should it be okay to use a word that you now know is a slur, to encourage others to say a word that you now know is a slur, when someone who is directly affected by the use of the slur is telling you intently that they are hurt by it? How is that appropriate?"
