"It doesn't help your credibility to exaggerate, most employers wouldn't literally work you to death" like, I used to work in distribution. If booking a truck driver for back to back shifts until they fall asleep at the wheel, crash, and die counts as being worked to death, I have personally met employers who've worked employees to death and gotten away with a slap on the wrist. It may not be universal, but it's a hell of a lot more common than a lot of us would prefer to think.
The FAA had to explicitly make rules about how long pilots have to have off between shifts, and how far away from their home you can pin their home airport, because it doesn't mean shit that someone has 10 hours between shifts if they have a 2 hour commute each way. They had to make these rules because multiple passenger airplanes crashed because the pilots were exhausted from tight scheduling. Employers won't just work you to death, they'll take a hundred random customers with you.

Jill Collen Jefferson, the founder of JULIAN, explains what happens when a transgender woman’s death is ruled a suicide and a community call

Copy-pasting what I wrote about this report earlier:
This is a new report on what Jill Collen Johnson has termed modern day lynchings in the South as well as hate crimes + suspicious deaths. The study records the deaths of over 150 individuals, who are overwhelmingly Black, across seven states. 75 of these are modern-day lynchings, which the report characterizes as murders committed as ostensible “retributive justice” involving more than one perpetrator which are ruled suicides. 83 are other hate crimes and suspicious deaths, which may not have been ruled suicides, may have had only one perpetrator, yet which usually have not been investigated formally as hate crimes despite probable antiblack or transmisogynist rationale.
Of the 150 people whose deaths are recounted, approximately 50 are transgender women. The number, and the accounts themselves, are extremely alarming. The Advocate has published an article on this which unfortunately substantially misreads what the report is saying. Of the trans women murdered, the vast majority were hate crimes committed by a single perpetrator, particularly via gunshot, and very few were ruled suicides. The Advocate’s claim that “Black trans women are being killed and their deaths ruled suicides” is therefore not particularly accurate.
It is, however, helpful to place these transmisogynist murders of Black trans women in the broader context of state-sanctioned racial violence against Black people in the south. I say “state-sanctioned” because what the report does show repeatedly is that whether speaking of lynchings deemed “suicides” or murders not considered as “hate crimes,” what we see is systemic issues in how these murders are treated by police, ranging from clear intentional obfuscation to uncaring laxity to bureaucratic hinderance to actively being involved in the murder. If you are able to, I highly recommend reading the report.

Now THIS is art. 😍
“When I first saw the original painting, I began to do some research on that little boy. I could find everything I wanted about every other detail in the painting, but there was nothing about him. No history. And so I wanted to find a way to imagine a life for this young man that the historical painting had never made space for in the composition: his desires, dreams, family, thoughts, hopes. Those things were never subjects that the original artist wanted the viewer to contemplate. In order to reframe the discussion, I decided to physically take action to quiet [and crumple] the side of the painting that we’ve been talking about for a very long time and turn up the volume on this kid’s story. And that’s the reason why I started that painting.” Via Artnet News 2019/03/27

“Martin Luther King Jr. made the forbidden connections between Capitalism, Imperialism, Racism, and the Vietnam War. As a result, after he was assassinated even his memory became toxic, a threat to public order. Foundations and corporations worked hard to remodel his legacy to fit a market-friendly format. The Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change, with an operational grant of $2 million, was set up by, among others, the Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Mobil, Western Electric, Proctor and Gamble, US Steel, and Monsanto. The center maintains the King Library and Archives of the Civil Rights Movement. Among the many programs the King Center runs have been projects that “work closely with the United States Department of Defense, the Armed Forces Chaplains Board and others.” It cosponsored the Martin Luther King Jr. Lecture Series called “The Free Enterprise System: An Agent for Nonviolent Social Change.”

“During the lifetime of great revolutionaries, the oppressing classes constantly hounded them, received their theories with the most savage malice, the most furious hatred and the most unscrupulous campaigns of lies and slander. After their death, attempts are made to convert them into harmless icons, to canonize them, so to say, and to hallow their names to a certain extent for the “consolation” of the oppressed classes and with the object of duping the latter, while at the same time robbing the revolutionary theory of its substance, blunting its revolutionary edge and vulgarizing it.”

On Jan. 3, while the fascist pigs in Washington brutalized the Venezuelan people, Burkina Faso was shaken by an attempted coup backed by the fascist pigs in Paris.
This marks a new addition to the long list of attempts by the West, notably France, to crush the revolutionary government of Captain Ibrahim Traoré and return the Land of Upright People to an existence of bondage and slavery.

This GFM is fraudulent, as it claims to be raising funds for the Beneficiary with statements such as: “legal defense fund pays attorney fees and court costs” and “mounting medical bills” yet his employer, the Federal Government, will cover his legal defense and offers him and his family full medical coverage. The GFM Organizer has also admitted to having no affiliation with the Beneficiary and has not been in contact with him. This breaks the GFM terms of service 8.2: “Fundraisers that are fraudulent, misleading, inaccurate, dishonest or impossible.” Additionally, this GFM breaks terms of service: "8.10. the legal defense of financial and violent crimes, including those related to money laundering, murder, robbery, assault, battery, sex crimes or crimes against minors.” These funds are fraudulent and a celebration of murder and a great risk to GFM’s reputation that must be stopped.
