Verdient dieses Buch, dass ich noch mehr Zeit damit verschwende mich darüber auszulassen? Nein. Aber es hat mich so aufgeregt, und ich muss das loswerden.
ziyal survives the war -> is unofficially adopted by both garak and kira separately (Very Separately.) -> asks to spend time on cardassia during the reconstruction -> kira comes along because it’s a disaster out there and she’s not letting ziyal go by herself -> comedy of errors where kira keeps getting mistaken for garak’s quite young wife (but what a lovely daughter you have together! she looks so much like you! divorced, you say? what a shame…) -> kira’s head explodes. the end
“My father says that you have been my friend. You came back for me” drives me crazy. It’s been minutes. As soon as Spock woke up Sarek must have been like “hey son i know you barely remember who you are but there’s this guy who loves you so much he gave up his flesh & blood AND his livelihood to save you so you should probably thank him for orchestrating your resurrection. Also hi i’m your father”
if looks could kill...

harry kim gets janeway a birthday gift. he’s very proud, wraps it in a bow and everything. she opens it in her ready room.
it’s a black t-shirt with bad graphic art of a wolf howling at the moon and it says “throw me to the wolves and I’ll come back leading the pack”. you know, the kind of thing boomer dads that imagine themselves protectors eat up.
she loves it. has to wipe a tear from her eye. it becomes the new pajama shirt. kathryn janeway working until two in the morning in her quarters in the stupid wolf shirt with a mug that says “quadrant’s best captain” on it.

they should've got weirder with sam being an ex host (and vala too for that matter but i won't talk abt her this time). like come ONNN she's got a whole other set of memories AND had her physiology permanently altered amd after a bit it all kind of falls by the wayside??? there is so much potential there!
im talking the events of the tok'ra/jolinar's memories 2 parters but More. missing people that she's never met and places that she's never been to. people she already knew reminding her of people she never did. speaking words of a language she knows instinctually, but can't really translate into english. using tok'ra sayings by accident, transliterating them and being perplexed when people ask her what she means. humming tunes she's never heard with her own ears, children's songs from someone else's culture. having skills she didn't have before - mundane as well as practical. maybe she's better at sketching, now.
and physical things! super cool that she can use goa'uld tech and sense symbiotes but there's more you could do with that as well! talking to teal'c without turning round because she just knows he's there. she has a new favourite food now, influenced by jolinar's preferences. she has slightly-too-good reflexes, strength, endurance from the lingering proteins left by the symbiote: she forgets to sleep because she was used to late nights anyway and she's stopped noticing when one all-nighter blends into two or three or four at a time. jack swears up and down that he's seen her eyes glow a little before - sam wouldn't believe him, but daniel says he's seen it too. she's wary of mirrors now, uneasy at the thought of seeing her eyes glow like that.
or maybe just at the thought of seeing her face, one that's so similar to the face she lost that's half hers, half someone else's.
Didn't they make it so she could only access Jolinars memories through the recall device and in dreams??
They should have done this, though, because seeing how everyone else reacts to it too would be good
I didn’t always like the idea of Janeway becoming an Admiral after bringing Voyager home. But I think I can see it.
I could see Kathryn Janeway returning to the Alpha Quadrant in the wake of the Dominion War and a lot of her fellow captains thinking she had it easy by “getting her ship lost”. And then the ship’s logs start hitting general access after the debriefings are over. (The same way Janeway was able to pull other captain’s logs for reference).
And her fellow rank-and-file get the logs dealing with the Borg, the Hirogen, Species 8472, the Vidiians, the telepathic pitcher plant, the macrovirus, what have you. And combining all that with making the journey in seven years and the fact that the entire Voyager crew is now a highly trained influx of fresh staffing after the Dominion War, with seven years of Janeway’s desperate insistence on Starfleet morals informing them?
Suddenly Janeway’s crew is captains and commanders and lieutenants, and she’s this Teddy Roosevelt-esque figure in Starfleet in that she’s revered for her leadership but also considered the type of admirably insane that wins wars.
And right about this time Janeway is looking at how Starfleet principles - the very same principles she clung to for her own sanity for seven years - have distorted and changed to be more war-like after the Dominion took so many lives, and she’s thinking “???? have you all??? gone mad???? you know what, yeah, put me in charge.”
The admiralty thinks they’re pulling one over on her by getting her innovative/insane mind to accept a desk job. Jokes on them, after seven years of being an absolute authority on Starfleet principles wherever she goes, she’s perfectly happy to be back in a spot where she can’t be outranked.
Kathryn: those Admirals and I are on a first name basis
I .... I don't think that's entirely the best thing, Janeway. But also this bring the basis to my HC that Edward Janeway was constantly bringing his girls to Starfleet HQ and Kathryn was so much a little nuisance there the various Admirals would just find her not at her father's side and end up babysitting her until Edward could find her. Like, she'd be happily chatting away to young up and coming Nechavey about her latest tennis match only to rapidly switch to "I'm going to be the youngest Admiral ever" to "oh my father is really good at designing ships and he said one day maybe I could too. But the only ships in interested in on the ones that would let me best study the universe." Looks up " did you know that" Edward appearing as the gathered group that just wanted to go for a walk and somehow ended up with a child has the biggest 'oh thank you' look on their face and Edward just "oh sorry, she got away from me. Little explore just can't help but wander off. One of these days she's going to get lost"
And I fully want some Admiral who remembers tiny Kathryn Janeway exploring Starfleet HQ to remember chaotic her and her father making some off hand comment to upon her return from the DQ and mid board of inquires pull a "well, your father was right. You did get lost"
