I just Googled the Swedish-Japanese guy in the OP, and according to this interview, his Japanese name was given to him by the master gardener he was apprenticed under:

So I think maybe it's less like naming yourself 'Brandon McFreedom' and more like moving to the states to work under a veteran car mechanic named Bud McLean, and then having him turn to you after a few years on the job, and say "Son, it's time for you to become an American so you can open up your shop. And when that day comes, I think the world should know you by a new name: McLeo GM Corvette."

One of the root problems of our society is a refusal or inability by media to articulate that all those “it’s gonna be an apocalypse” disasters were not disasters because we collectively did something about them.

The good news is this is actually quite correctable. I maintain my firm belief that we as humans are capable of solving almost all of our problems, when we decide to do so.

And I still think that’s going to happen. I don’t know when or how, but I do know that abandoning hope won’t help bring it about.

And I refuse to let the cynics own a chunk of my heart.

This was also on Windows 10, but not in the same place in the menu. When you open settings, just search for "typing" and click the "typing settings" search result. "Typing insights" is small, just below "learn how AI has helped you" (ugh) and you can turn it off from there. On the one hand, frustrating. The wilderness, nature, and rural life is not meant to be some slot machine that renders security in masculinity to insecure men- in fact I’d argue that happenstance is part of the reason we’re in such dire environmental straights.

On the other hand, I’m glad you think you might find some peace through nature even if your math is wonky. I suppose this is an opportunity to correct your math so you have a good time. You may even develop a political interest in protecting these resources, that would be cool.

…it’s just that I have to trick you into learning now or things are gonna take like 3x as long and this course is only a 5 day introduction. So.
