Odd question but i honestly dont know who else to ask? How do you think Mekhanites would raise their children? I’m trying to write a story but theres not a lot of info on family units that i can find

Lemme preface this by sayin I’m far from a CotBG lore expert and the sect I’m most knowledgeable on is the extinct one that I fuckin made up. Now

I think it would depend wildly on sect and even then on parent disposition in general

In the tale The Heresy of Disassembly it’s implied that unions resulting in children, especially more than one, are rare enough to be of notice, though not really unheard of. This one also has mention of conflict between a son of Orthodoxy parents who converted to Maxwellism for instance so that could be a factor as well

The nature of augmentation might depend sect to sect? Afaik there’s not a lot of specifics on how it happens, though I think in many it’s implied that parents have some degree of say in augmentations their children receive

Now time for Wild Conjectures

I think it’s definitely possible that some factions of CotBG, might depend on exact sect or even church within that sect, would raise children collectively; with all that emphasis on unity the church seems to have I don’t think it’s a stretch havin a Maxwellist or Orthodoxy faction have communal kid raising? From what I know of the Broken Church it would probably be less likely there but I still wouldn’t really rule it out
