@brightlightsstarrynights
my favourite genre of food that exists in almost every culture is âfilling surrounded by a whole bunch of unhealthily cooked doughâ
japanese gyoza? talented
indian samosas? brilliant
chinese bao? incredible
austrian knoedel? amazing
polish pierogi? showstopping
korean mandu? spectacular
italian ravioli? iconic
tibetan momo? outstandingÂ
american fritters? killer
literally anything vaguely resembling a dumpling no matter where it comes from or whatâs in it? fucking a plus
Letâs hear it for stuff stuffed with stuff!
make no mistake i love the ocean with my whole heart but deep water terrifies me so much.. whatâs goin on down there? nothing i want to be a part of
Update from hell town
âŠ.I want to know what could have possibly happened that didnât only prompt the closing of the McDonaldâs but itâs over night demolition and Erasure

Dude can I pat your cat? Sure
interesting how when ppl mention they tricked ppl into eating v*gan food under the assumption it was normal food people are fine with it/happy but if you trick a v*gan into eating meat youâre a terrible person and it starts WW3
Both are awful, don't fuck with people's diets.
Honestly âtrickingâ a regular person into eating a vegan meal isnât even tricking, itâs food, regular people donât give a shit whether it has meat in it or not.
if you tell someone itâs meat but itâs actually a soy-based meat alternative itâs tricking. You better hope they donât have a soy allergy đ
yeah i gotta chime in: iâm super allergic to multiple common vegan alternatives in recipes, like coconuts and bananas, so. yeah. i do care if itâs a vegan alternative because I Donât Know Whatâs In That. if you serve me, hell, letâs say brownies, iâll assume that theyâre just regular everyday brownies.
and then you tell me theyâre vegan and were made with bananas, and iâve already figured that out because my throat is swelling and i feel like vomiting. and as the op said: some of the most common allergies are to soy and nuts. what if you âtrickâ someone into eating tofu and it turns out they have an extreme soy allergy? Â
the issue has not at all been âpeople want animal products in their foodâ, the issue was clearly stated to be âdonât trick people into eating things they professed to not like, because it can put them in the goddamn hospitalâ.
Any kind of tricking people with foods is playing with a personâs life.
You canât know everyoneâs allergies, medical conditions, etc
So thats a real asshole move especially when the common alternatives to animal products are also very common allergens.Same thing with tricking people about whether something was made with animal productsâdairy is a common allergen and lactose intolerance is rly common.
You can call it a joke all you want but when someone ends up in the hospital following anaphylaxis (if theyâre lucky) do you really think itâll be sufficient or acceptable to look them in the face and say âit was a jokeâ
Seitan is a common meat substitute, that is similar in texture (when properly prepared) to ground Italian sausage.
It's made entirely out of vital wheat gluten. Pure gluten.
It could KILL my parents.
how can ppl say cats are heartless tbh
I once stayed at a game reserve in South Africa, and they had three cheetahs â two males and one female. The boys stuck together (they were brothers), but female cheetahs are solitary, save for when they are raising cubs. Which is hard work for cheetahs, because they donât/canât den, sheâs working constantly to protect/move her cubs, as well as feeding both them and herself.
Now, these cheetahs ARE in a private reserve, but theyâre still essentially wild. But they are more or less accustomed to the presence of people. And this cheetah, Ketswiri, got very badly injured in her leg one time, which usually would be fatal to a cheetah. The staff at the reserve helped her. Another time, she was starving, and they provided her a fresh antelope carcass. And she remembered this, because the science officer was telling us how one time he was watching Ketswiri and her cubs, and she wandered over and dumped all her cubs at his feet, and walked off. Like âwatch my kids, I need some me time.â And he was panicking like COME BACK I CANâT BABYSIT YOUR KIDS WTF
Half of the comments are about cats giving birth on top of or next to their owners and Iâm not crying at all
itâs so funny though because domesticated cats are aggressively social in raising their young so basically opâs cat was like bitch these are your kids too, where tf you think youâre going???
A long time ago there was a stray cat that visited us pretty often. She kinda became our cat. She got pregnant, and gave birth in a little hole under our AC unit outside.
One night it started pouring down rain. Me and my parents were kinda worried because we were sure that their little den would flood. So we pulled back the blinds to our sliding glass door.
Low and behold thereâs mama cat, sitting on our patio and staring up at us, desperation in her eyes. She meowed at us and when we went out she led us to her babies. We were right- their nest had started flooding. We pulled them out and brought them inside, and mama seemed so relieved and happy.
I think about this a lot when people say cats are stupid, or heartless. She knew to come to us for help. She knew we would help her. Even if we hadnât went to look Iâm sure she would have screamed at the door loud enough for us to know something was wrong.
Cats are amazing, wonderful creatures.

Iâm home recovering from meningitis and both my cats have been aggressively caring for me, following me everywhere, snuggling with my when Iâm resting. Nebula wonât let me move from one room to another without her.
I relapsed yesterday and finally got the energy to move to the couch today. Theyâre both curled up nearby.
A few years ago we ended up with a kitten suddenly. Something bad had happened, and his family could no longer keep him. He was still quite young, maybe ten weeks old.
Our cats all ignored him or just hissed at him at first, except for Mark. Mark let the kitten follow him around, and since he was a black kitten anyway we named him Shadow because he was Markâs shadow.
Mark played with him and would snuggle him. Eventually the others came around, too, but Mark was still his buddy. Thing was, Mark was old and had chronic health problems. At 15 his health was worsening and he didnât do much and there wasnât much we could do for him. He took to sleeping in an old cat carrier we still had.
One day I watched Shadow drag a large cat toy over to where Mark was and gently nudge it into the carrier, trying to get Mark to play like he used to do. Unfortunately, Mark couldnât, and Shadow just sat there. I swear he was despondent; even as a young cat he probably understood Mark was sick and not getting better. He often kept him company until Mark finally passed a short while later.
Cats and other animals can and do love their humans and each other. Maybe itâs not exactly the way we do or expressed like us, but they can, and we should remember that.
so who do i have to pay to get natalie, mark, and hayden all in a room together??
bonus:
For that last addition
Loving how as soon as electricity was like, a Thing, people just went âyou can make toast with thisâ and started working on electric toasters but they didnât quite have the whole heating element thing down so there was a not insignificant chance of it just exploding
People have been making bread crunchy by heating it up for Ages but for some reason I thought electric toasters would be happening around the same time as like, refrigerators but no people went âeasier crunchy bread?â as soon as the technology was available. Not even remotely safe but like, existent. It took Way longer to figure out how to make things cold with electricity
I specify electric toasters because before that they had these bad boys
You just put your slice of bread in there and hold it over your fireplace and bam itâs toast time
Actually you didnât have to use those, if you find yourself wanting some toast in victorian england you could also stick your bread on one of these motherfuckers right here
These are the very creatively titled (/s) toasting forks and they look metal as hell for the purpose they serve
You might notice that the tips are bent upwards, which is actually not for inflicting more pain when tormenting the souls of the damned but rather because the bread goes on them like so
And the bend helps keep the bread from sliding off
I know this is the most niche interest shit in the world but just look at that. The victorian era had no reason to go as hard as it did but every day I am grateful for it
quiet down over there
his eyes say âbedroomâ, but his hands say âhospitalâ
one day hozier is gonna cover hallelujah and by god itâll kill me but what a way to go
This is so

how do you explain to someone that this is your sense of humour
You canât. Just save this video to your phone. Show it to them if they laugh youâve made a friend, if not their loss.
