Tumblr sexy man of the year if you people weren't cowards
I have endured what no one on earth has ever done before
I put to my lips the hands of the man who killed my son.
(1/2)
Minotaur is not a species
The Minotaur was named that because he was the son of King Minos. Anyone with a bull head has to be named after their dad, like the Kyletaur or something.
hang on i gotta google something
I am so sorry.
I’m gonna need you all to get more obsessed with Supergirl 2026. It’s literally every single sarcastic, messy, depressed, grieving, male lead from recent media that accidentally adopts an angry, young girl (also grieving) which forces him to confront his self destructive behavior and realize the impact he can still make. But she’s a girl. This is the character you all love in every piece of media. I’m begging you all to adore her the same way.
It’s literally a genderbent version of “grumpy old man accidentally becomes a single dad” trope
Also, please do not listen to how people talk about cover letters on this site. Cover letters are important, and in many industries you can be damn sure they'll be read. And no, they're not 'fanfic about working in your office', or just re-stating the resume contents in a fancier guise. If you treat them like that, then of course they're not doing much for you. That makes you sound like a syncophantic windbag, and it's not doing anything else to help.
I was trained in the dark arts of the cover letter by my mother, who is a hiring manager. And her training has paid off: I've been consistently told my cover letters are excellent. Let me pass on the wisdom.
The job of a cover letter is to give a prospective employer strictly more information than is on the resume. This is where you take the resume contents and put them into context. You look at the job requirements (you are looking at the job requirements before applying, right?) and look at your resume and ask the question (in your head) "why would a person think this candidate would be good for this job?" and your cover letter is the answer to that question. If you don't answer that question, the hiring manager is going to have to do it themselves, and you have way more information to work with than they do.
This is especially important if you're moving from one industry to another, because then the relevant connections aren't obvious. It's also very important if you're overqualified, because then you can use the letter to say "I know it looks like this job would be too entry-level for me, but I'm interested to pursue it for reasons x, y, and z". You can also use this space to explain away something that might otherwise be disqualifying, like job-hopping or a long break in employment. The tone to strike here is always matter-of-fact and constrained to topic - don't go into detail about health stuff or personal tragedy, just tell them what they need to hear: that this period of your resume was affected by [bad thing] but that it's now in the past and you're looking forward to the next chapter. Remember, one of the things they're trying to learn is whether you'd be content in this role, or whether you'd be miserable and leave after 2 months, which would force them to do all the work of hiring again. You're trying to establish that you will fit right in and not cause problems. Knowing what drew you to this job in particular (and don't just say 'money', that's true for everyone) helps with that.
And the other mistake? Everyone writes cover letters that are too long. One page is fine. Two is the absolute maximum, and that's if you have a lot of specific things to say. It's a waste of your time and theirs to pad it out with fluff. Of my two most recent successful cover letters (i.e. jobs for which I was interviewed) one was 390 words and the other was 550. That's the length of this post. How long did it take me to write this post? About 15 minutes to write, 5 to proof and edit. That's how long you should be spending on a cover letter, maximum.
For much more information, examples, advice:
Your cover letter is where you make a case for why you’d excel at the job, aside from what’s in your resume. A good cover letter can be the

About three things I was absolutely positive.
First, Sophie was an elf.
Second, there was a part of her--and I didn’t know how potent that part might be--that was also a horse.
And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with her.
All fantasy authors wish they had a bigger bathtub in their house. You can tell by every bathing scene ever written into a fantasy novel
@bring-the-storm can we get a big bath when we get a house please
of course <3

It is so ridiculously easy to gain a reputation for being competent by just reading signs.
This is not metaphorical. I mean actual, literal pieces of paper/plastic/metal/whatever explicitly erected to inform the public.
“How did you know this was the right trail?” I read the sign.
“Wow, how did you know what that flower is?” There’s a SIGN.
“How did you know we needed to use the side door?” THERE IS A SIGN POSTED ON THE FRONT DOOR.
Just…why are we having such different experiences of the world? People can read. I KNOW they can read. There’s nothing wrong with their vision.
Just. READ. THE. GOD. DAMN. SIGN.

Because. I don’t think Nicky is under the illusion that his parents are going to support him and the choices he’s made at any point in the series, even before Thanksgiving. What he’s clinging to—especially, I think, from Maria, who at least sort of stayed in touch while he was in Germany—is not a hope of acceptance, but a desperate belief that they’re willing to try to love him anyway.
We know Luther and Maria were the cause of Nicky being in such a bad place pre-Germany—they sent him to a conversion camp for a whole year, and accepted his “recovery” at face value, when the fact that Nicky was actively suicidal was apparent enough that his German teacher picked up on it. It’s only after leaving them that he’s able to start learning how to love and accept himself.
But, in spite of that, Nicky still wants to believe his parents could choose to love him in spite of their disagreements—and of course he does. It’s the same hope that led him to come out to them in the first place, when he knew their opinions about gay people. I imagine it’s the same part of him that continued to choose to teach the twins German and get them what they needed even when they didn’t show signs of caring about him. Nicky wants to believe that there’s good in the people around him, and that if he’s patient, it’ll come through, even if it’s in bits and pieces—and, in the case of the twins, I think he saw it pay off.
Now, here’s the thing: this doesn’t mean Nicky believes his parents are good people, or even decent ones. He moves back from Germany just to make sure the twins don’t have to live with them, uprooting his life and taking on an incredible amount of new responsibilities because the alternative is Andrew and Aaron experiencing what he did, and that’s unacceptable to him. His parents being shitty to him is one thing, but hurting other people? Especially either of the two people he loved enough to turn his world upside down for? And to use his desire for their love to do it? That’s unforgivable. And the moment they crossed even one of those lines, I think Nicky dropped any belief in finding a piece of good in them.
academic dishonesty is not something you can spin as moral lol i do not want to share a career field let alone a social sphere with a bunch of chatgpt using ass bitches
"you're just scared your diploma is going to devalue" i'm afraid you dumb bitches are going to become my colleagues and drag social services to hell
I'm afraid they'll become scientists and data that lives depend on will turn out to be wrong - and people will die.
I'm afraid they'll become engineers and sign off on bridge designs that collapse - and people will die.
I'm afraid they'll become medical professionals who don't know what they're doing - and people will die.
The assumption that academic dishonesty is okay is rooted in the idea that what you're learning to do doesn't matter.

brazilians, imagine you’re a famous futebol player and are about to hit the winning penalty kick at the world cup finals. accidentally, the referee tosses a christian baby at you. would you still kick the baby to the goal and win the hexa championship, and sacrifice the christian baby?
Look I don't think Supergirl (2026) is secretly a perfect masterpiece or anything (I personally thought it was like. a 6/10 fun time) but I do think it's wild that Tumblr isn't going crazy for it because this Kara is one coattailed suit away from being a Tumblr sexyman. she is the flawed messy female character people have supposedly been clamouring for. she's the popular archetype of a gruff self-destructive alcoholic middle-aged man begrudgingly having to look after a kid and growing fond of them but genderswapped and also 23. she's allowed to be visibly messy and kind of gross and her hair is constantly all over the place and she literally cries, screams, throws up, and pisses onscreen. she's caustic and mean and puts up an act of carelessness but has a heart of gold. she's heavily traumatised and coping with it terribly. if anything happens to her dog she will kill everyone in this room and then herself. she spends most of the movie in a trench coat and baggy band T-shirt. she gets into bar brawls and breaks a guy's hand. she is Going Through It 24/7 and looks the part. she stabs a guy in the throat. how is everyone else not obsessed with her.
AITA: I Accidentally Killed 5 Of My Students And Broke Up With My Boyfriend In The Same Week
I (5000+ M Capricorn) and my boyfriend (5000+ M Sagittarius) were together on and off for like 4 millennia while I was on the Council.
At the time this story takes place, I was working on a personal project of mine, which I wanted to test run with some of my closest and most talented students.
This project ended with all five of them burning to death, which irreparably damaged my sanity, got me forcefully resigned from the Council and banished, and caused my boyfriend to break up with me because he wanted to join the Council and fix my mistakes.
AITA?
