Actually, no, I don't think that friendships dropping like flies in your late 20s and early 30s because no one has time for that between overwork and family obligations and marriage and kids and partners and the ritual of the time slayer is normal and ok. No I don't think deep conversations and spontaneous adventures being replaced with a tired coffee every six months is a normal part of growing up. I don't think that emotional intimacy and soul bonds disintegrating in the face of practical inconvenience is a fact of life. I think that means something is deeply deeply wrong with our society and I will never forgive it for the friends I've lost

I feel like “consent is sexy” was the start of this current trend where progressive concepts and values can only be depicted through a quippy, ironic cool girl vibe because just saying why something is necessary and important is too cringe for people even if they agree with it.

Nothing too special today, I'm very sleep deprived but I wanted to mess around with the dialogue system a bit more :3 This is Lance Bravo, the local news reporter who becomes a close friend/token Tutorial NPC to Chag over the course of the game. All this dialogue is subject to to change, but this is somewhat how I imagine the intro going :3 (If you're curious, Chag's voice grunt is using the breath sound from Waters of Nazareth, and Lance's voice grunts are sampling Barry from HBO's Barry because I'm obsessed with that show rn LOL)

For the longest time, I thought it was "The Ignorable Invasion of Prince Proculo", as in "Ignorant", like the invasion was something you should know better than to do. At some point I thought I had a eureka moment and realized it was actually supposed to be "Ignorable" as in "could be ignored", as though the invasion is mediocre, low scale, or nonthreatening.

ignoble basically = shameful, not noble, etc. and he's a evil colonizing slug from space, so the 'ignoble invasion' could be his infiltration of the fantasy world (as he intends to conquer it), or it could be....... no, I shan't say. just, something else. it could be something else.

there was a great study a few years that went into the whole "ppl online are bigger jerks than irl cuz theres a virtual wall and no repercussions" and the researchers were expecting to see that be the case but it turns out that people who were really angry or argumentative online were also found to just be assholes in person and people who were pretty patient and nice online were found to be patient and nice in real person as well

and it just debunked that whole cynical idea that people will naturally be mean if theres no punishment for it

the researchers found that being online didnt make people more hostile, but that being online allowed already hostile people to dominate forum conversations, and the less aggressive people were much less likely to reply or engage, ending in just the aggressive people bickering at eachother
