Rocky on the trip back to Erid registering that Grace has defaulted to using he/him for him for sexism reasons and that they don't actually have to go by he/him. xe does some research on the human computer and spends several weeks cycling through different pronoun sets. starts switching so frequently Grace becomes convinced sie has started being difficult on purpose. after a while Grace is like omg will you just pick one and stick with it. Rocky is like okay i have decided. rock/rocks. rockself. Grace like well i can't argue with that.

I saw a post that was talking about how Simon would probably only trust the eridiens at first (Rocky and Adrien mostly). This is the au where he arrives on Erid after Grace has been there for a while. He has just been betrayed and treated horribly by humans so many times that it's really hard to trust people. But these aliens have been so kind and loving towards him. Finding him in the Lung. Bringing him to Grace so he could get medical treatment and survive. And then building him his own house and area in the biodome built for his needs. Their voices sound like music, and it reminds him of his mother, and he's just so grateful for them.

I LOVE this idea so much. But think about how Grace would feel watching this. He was so happy when the Eridiens told him they found another human. Rocky and all his eridien friends are great! But he misses the company and touch of a human being so much. Grace does everything he can to make Simon comfortable. He keeps his space when he sees that Simon doesn't trust him and doesn't like physical touch. He asks Adrien to design a house for Simon even though Rocky kept pushing them to live together. Grace does so much for Simon. And it kills him that he can't trust Grace. He watches from the sidelines as Simon befriends Adrien and Rocky, and he will NOT push Simon to like him. But he wants him too so much. He watches as Simon opens up to Adrien and has actual conversations for the first time since he got there. But the second Grace is around, Simon stops talking and barely acknowledges Grace's existence.

At first, Grace just thought it was because Simon was still warming up to things. He has no idea what the man has gone through, but it couldn't have been nice. And he understands that so much and just wants to be there for the man. But he respects Simon's boundaries and stays away the best he can. Then it doesn't stop. A week goes by. Then a month. Then another. And Simon still won't speak to him. It gets to the point where Grace thinks he's done something wrong. Did he come off too strong when he first woke up? Did he somehow disrespect him? They do come from different cultures. Maybe he unknowingly did something horrible and unforgivable? It must be his fault he did something wrong. He just wishes he could figure out what it was so he could fix it! It's eating away at him, and he doesn't know what to do.

I might turn this idea into a fic lmk if you guys would like that^^
