Welcome to Neko's "Finish this in your own style" 1K follower celebration! ✨✨
How it works:
1) I will write a scene of my choosing. I'll link it here.
2) You will take that scene and use it at your own whim. Maybe you want to draw a moment in that specific scene. Maybe you want to write/draw a scene that comes before or after it. Maybe you want to write/draw someone else's perspective in the story when they discover that the scene happened. Maybe you want to write/draw the direct ending of the story- skip the drama and give pure fluff! Maybe it's not traumatic- maybe it's really a crackfic! Maybe it's a crossover! The story is yours to continue as you please!
3) Remember that the story will not follow a single storyline, so every storyline possible is possible! (Who cares if one turtle seems to be the main character of the narrative? Maybe he was only attacked so the villain could use him to get to your favorite character!)
4) Don't be hesitant because someone else has a similar storyline or yours is so different- that's the beauty of it! It's your style!
Rules:
1) Your story/drawing can be anything. One paragraph or seven pages- doesn't matter! An unfinished sketch or a brilliant masterpiece- doesn't matter! All substance counts here.
2) No tcest and all adult content must be tagged accurately.
3) Use the "keep reading" lines to separate text if a post is particularly long! Courtesy is always a kindness.
4) If you draw an image, give the viewer a little note so they understand what the story looks like in your mind. It does not have to be too big if you don't want it to be. It can be as simple as "after days in the Foot's clutches, his brothers finally locate him again. They're horrified by what they find." It's that easy!
5) You can use one of my AUs as substance if you would like :))
6) Tag me so I can seeeee! Please please the most important!!
7) No due date! Lives are unpredictable and crazy- just show me as they come! I just want to see!

I used to not like reading what I wrote, because I was and still am not able to write it in the way I'm thinking it. There just is no way to exactly bring my thoughts onto paper, because my thoughts are like "He stared into the air as he [walked, but in a specific way, for which there is no word. There basically is one, strolling, but that just doesn't have the connotations I'm looking for or doesn't sound the way I want in this sentence] down the hallway [a specifc hallway, you just have to know which one, and all that it means, although I have never really described it and everything about it]."
And then when I read it, it wasn't like I had it in mind, because this right here says 'strolling' but it's not strolling! Strolling has the wrong connotations! And, hey, why is a paragraph about the hallway in here?! Reading this is wrong. Suddenly, my story is different!
However, I really have learned the beauty in that. Like... it's my story. I am the author, however, I am not its God. I do not get to decide everything. The story can be preceived in ways that silightly divert from how I intended it. And that only gives it infitie potential instead of forcing you to have it in a specific way.
So when I'm reading it, I discover new ways of reading it. Just slightly differnt. Just with him walking down that hallway a bit differently. But still, it is the story I wrote and I know how I wrote it, and I love it. I love every version of it that I read.
This was semi through my mind a lot recently (kind of before getting more into the fandom) it but when you noticed why Donnie got protective of Leo later on in the Battle Nexus
Because the last time he saw his brother that injured was on his first death trip at the hands of their enemy and most likely triggered the memory of seeing an possible enemy with his brother
I swear after season one almost all of the brothers just have second instinct to protect their oldest whenever threat comes their way
especially like when the Ultimate Ninja first appeared and Raph was ready to literal draw blood and
I'd say Donnie is definitely next in line to which of making sure friend or foe no one comes to his brother in a 12 feet radius if he can help it

They have already failed to protect their brother once, have seen him barely holding onto life, they're not gonna let that happen again. They promised it to themselves and to each other (maybe even to Leo)
So, now imagine how it feels to have to watch him fight this dangerous foe, who does not leave him another choice but to fight him and fight him alone. Imagine how it feels to watch him get injured - again - without you being there. Except this time you can watch. This time you watch as they beat up your brother. Although, at the end of the day, you know, even this wasn't as brutal. Because your brother is still standing. If it had been as bad as that day, he would barely havee been breathing. No one, neither you, nor your brothers, nor your sensei would know if he would survive his injuries.
That wasn't the worst fight in your brohter's young life. In his worst fight, he was truely alone. While you have been sleeping and chilled and ate and watched TV.
Imagine how it feels to have him lie there again. Utterly unresponsive. Turning in pain. This time, you have no guidance from and no comfort of your father, brothers and friends. Right now, it's only you, your brother (lying there just like back in those days) and the guy who has just been fighting him. Sparring, it was just sparring. You spare your brother every day. This guy might not be the reason your brother is weak and in pain right now. This guy might also be his murderer. He might have injected him with a poisen that there is no cure for. You don't know that.
You don't know anything, really. The only thing you can do, is trust this guy, and hope he is not going to be the murderer of your brother.

Like how in Rouge in the House Pt2 when they're split up Mikey, just having fought a few dozen foot ninja with Zog hangs from a single rope from a ship, with no sight of Zog, thinking he fucking died. Leo, Raph and Splinter are battling the foot elite and Hun at the same time, resulting in Splinter getting caught by Hun. And then Don goes "Guys, we have a biiiig problem here, like a big ninja problem"
And it's four regular foot goons. And then he beats all their asses combined because duh, he can take four regular foot goons.

as a teen, i was constantly harassed by adults enforcing ''dress codes'' on me. I very much experienced this as sexual harassment. I think this is one of many cases where people would more easily understand this as sexual harassment if I described it as if it happened to an adult.
imagine being on your lunch break, and your supervisor comes over to your table, tells you to stand up in front of everyone. they draw everyone's attention to your thighs. they tell you that you have broken the dress code because of the length of your shorts. they tell you to go change (so you do not get the rest of your lunch break). they do this every single day at lunch. every day. so you read the whole dress code front and back, and you choose your clothing carefully to not break it. you bring a cloth tape measure with you to work because they will not believe you. this time when your supervisor tells you that you're breaking dress code, you pull out your tape measure and show that you are within the limit. your supervisor says "I bet you wouldn't want me to bring you to the boss and let him measure it, would you?" it's clearly a threat: if you don't obey then you will be put alone in a room with your boss and he will touch your thighs. you don't know how to respond. you're taken out of lunch again.
this was my experience at school. replace supervisor with "teacher" and boss with "principal." this was sexual harassment. fuck dress codes.
In the school I was attending, there was a class, where among other things photography was taught. And for one project the students had to ask classmates to bring extra cloths that violate the dress code, take a photo of them, send it to the teacher who then would upload the photo on the school website (I don't know what exactly the teacher panned, if the student's face would be blurred or cut off, but still).
Some of it wouldn't be that bad. Like long, bagy sweatpants, no sleeves. But you know what else was a violation? Too short skirts.
I haven't really checked what happened with this 'project' but if I'm correctly informed, the students mostly protested to the point where at least the too short skirt thingie was dropped. And I think no photo got uploaded but still. wtf. That a teacher asked (requiered for a good grade) that students would send him a picture of a student with short skirts
