DISCLAIMER: I figured out how to do this reading ancient forums, so if something goes terribly wrong, heed that warning.

Type the command into the regular email searchbar. I actually had so many emails, Gmail wasn't willing to mass-delete so many, so i actually started at 1800 days and moved down a couple hundred each time LOL. Anyway in this example I did '10' days because I'm almost out of emails.

Click the select box, which will only select the emails displayed on the first page of your search.

So click 'select all conversations that match this search.'

It'll tell you 'All conversations are selected.'

Hit that garbage can.

It'll ask if you're sure. Click 'ok.'

Assuming there's a lot of emails, they won't all delete at once, and you'll get this prompt:

Don't close the tab or go back to your inbox, or this won't happen. Open a new tab and do something else for a few minutes. After a couple (or 10) minutes, the emails will all move to your trash, and the page will be clear:

when i was curating the marine science museum i was up in the archives looking for something and when i walked out i had to go through the main museum hall and i heard some kids speculating something about a whale skeleton so i walked up and started talking to them about it. they started asking me follow up questions and then another and another and another and then their parents came over and immediately zeroed in on my "curator" nametag and told their kids i was probably very busy and i said no not at all keep asking me questions. soon their parents asked some questions too (after a few more apologies, because somewhere along the line they learned shame that i want to undo) and in the end i talked to them for like 30 minutes as a few more people joined.

a few months later one of the parents wrote me a letter that i still keep with me and in the letter they asked the kids what they learned at the museum and one of the kids said, "i learned i'm special."

choked up just typing that now LMAO. they didn't mention the whales or the squids or the seals or the tides or the seaweed i told them all about. they learned that their questions matter so much that even the person in charge should stop and answer them. they learned that they're special!!!!!!!! what could possibly matter more???

Mozilla, in its finite wisdom, embedded LLM bots into recent versions of Firefox for the vitally-important purpose of… naming tab groups. Now, some users are noticing CPU and power usage spikes caused by a background process called Inference.

Ugh. Reminder again for Firefox users to visit your about:config page, search for the browser.ml.chat.enabled key, and set that to false:

If yours says true then double-click it until it reads false.

Doing that turns off the AI chatbot features in Firefox, but also the stupid new LLM tab-naming feature that's rolling out.

irritatingly, the list of AI settings in Firefox has grown. to kill them all as of today (Nov 20, 2026), go into about:config and set all of these to false (yes, you'll have to copy and paste them one by one):
