#literally genuinely truly people need to stop stereotyping 'ugly' nerd guys like this because it's extremely old#I can tell you right now you're more likely to get a rancid opinion out of a rich conventionally attractive dude just statistically#also stop using people's photographs to make mean jokes when you don't even fucking know the person thanks bye
Jerry Messing “the fedora guy”s GoFundMe. The face of the neck beard memes for many years and decades of how that affected his life. Disabled by covid and a coma and after his mums passing he has recently upped his donation goal after being forced to move (inability to afford rising rent prices and accommodations like a ramp)
Hi, my name is Patti Stiles and I'm fund raising for my son, Jerry Messing,… Patti P. Stiles needs your support for Revovery from Covid comp
I really do hope he pulls through.
Hello, my name is Jerry Messing, my father is Jim, and we are in a pre… Patti P. Stiles needs your support for Support Jerry and Jim in Rebu
Jerry’s new fundraiser to cover his moving costs. He has had to move out of an abusive household with his ailing father.
Please spread his new gofundme. With the cuts to disability and what Medicaid will cover he needs help and has not had a donation in a month.
It’s been a year and a half and he hasn’t met his goal please help Jerry. His insurance no longer covers physical therapy and he cannot get surgery because the weight limit is 200lb. Help him and his father afford rent and food.
Been thinking about “blorbos” lately in a meta sense. So much of how I think and process the world is filtered through fictional people (sometimes OCs, sometimes not). I’ll be eating soup and be like “Spot Spiderverse would like this soup.” When my real life grandpa died, I remembered thinking about how Broccoli might grieve if this had happened to them. In fact, the more thorny a subject is, the more I find myself thinking about fictional characters. Death, grief, isolation, queerness, parental relationships. We’re it not for My Blorbos, I would seriously struggle to think about such things let alone form opinions about them.
There is, of course, a whole internet subculture that understands this—one that I interact with frequently. But to anyone outside of it, this type of thinking seems deranged.
I wish there was more technical language to describe this experience. I want to be able to explain this to my offline coworkers or to my parents. I can tell them that I really like comics or that I like writing stories, but that’s not half of it. I am thinking about fictional characters almost 24/7. This is a lens through which I see the entire world. I do not engage with fiction the way most people do.
Maybe there is a way to describe this I have not searched enough for it. Is it related to autism? My little cousin does this too. When we go sightseeing he’ll point at stuff and be like, “imagine Luffy sees this” or “imagine Sanji sees this.” And like yeah I get it. Me too dude. But also…most people don’t get it. And also also…saying “it’s just autism” is probably too reductive. I know many autistic people that don’t do this and allistic people who do. I suppose “blorbo brain” is often comorbid with autism?
I don’t know. Wish I could come to a more interesting conclusion to these thoughts.
Ramble over
Sorry another thought—
I have considered that this is just what a special interest is. I understand that a special interest CAN be something so all encompassing that it becomes a framework by which you understand the world. BUT…I think “special interest” is a bit more broad than what I am trying to describe.
If a person spends much of their day catching bugs, looking at pictures of bugs and reading about bugs, but that same person DOES NOT process their emotions, relationships, and mundane existence through the lens of entomology, they still have a special interest.
But if your special interest is bugs and you see your coworker wipe ther nose and think “ants groom their antenna also” or your dad dies and you think “how would a bee feel if its queen died?” Or you eat Mac and cheese and think “Imagine a grain mite eats this Mac n Cheese.” That’s The Thing. That’s What I’m Talking About.
I know people like this, who have “blorbo brain” about things besides fictional characters. I’ve met bug people like this. I’ve met people who were like this with historical figures or time periods (what would an Edwardian woman think of this?). Hell, I’ve met people who are like this about their religion. The way I see some people talk about Jesus I’m like…I Know What You Are.
Maybe this is, just, like, a subtype of special interest I guess.
I think I need to speak with more people

Help out Dorothy!
She’s going through a terrible time, but thanks to her friends and other kind strangers, things are looking up!
Sorry to reblog a gofundme, but one of my close friends just had, like, a horrible congaline of terrible things happen to her (Car totaled, office broken into phone + wallet stolen, used car she got as a replacement immediately broke down.) A few bucks would help her sleep a bit easier, if you can spare some.
Send me to Mars with party supplies before next august 5th
No guys you don’t understand.
The soil testing equipment on Curiosity makes a buzzing noise and the pitch of the noise changes depending on what part of an experiment Curiosity is performing, this is the way Curiosity sings to itself.
So some of the finest minds currently alive decided to take incredibly expensive important scientific equipment and mess with it until they worked out how to move in just the right way to sing Happy Birthday, then someone made a cake on Curiosity’s birthday and took it into Mission control so that a room full of brilliant scientists and engineers could throw a birthday party for a non-autonomous robot 225 million kilometres away and listen to it sing the first ever song sung on Mars*, which was Happy Birthday.
This isn’t a sad story, this a happy story about the ridiculousness of humans and the way we love things. We built a little robot and called it Curiosity and flung it into the star to go and explore places we can’t get to because it’s name is in our nature and then just because we could, we taught it how to sing.
That’s not sad, that’s awesome.
*this is different from the first song ever played on mars (Reach For The Stars by Will.I.Am) which happened the year before, singing is different from playing
This is humanity
Happy Birthday, Curiousity.
Happy birthday, Curiosity.
Never forget that this is what humanity is. We are not the tyrants that rule over us. Humanity is our ability to create and our capacity to love even the things incapable of loving us back in the same way.
Humanity is flawed and can be horrid and cruel, but humanity is not and never will be inherently evil. Anyone who tells you otherwise has been tainted by the bitter feelings instilled in their heart.
I love you, Curiosity. You are everything to me. Happy birthday, and here’s to many more.
God speed little creature. Im glad the best of us is out there in the universe

Hey quick question how do you imagine my voice sounds like? When you read stuff you write do you read it in your own voice or in a different one? Do you have a default voice you read things in or does it change every time?
(Also Haii!!)
HELLLO!!! There's a friend i once had with a very beautiful gender neutral voice (leaning feminine). I read everything in their voice unless proven otherwise. I miss them.
It’s my birthday today!!! For my birthday present, you should read my webcomic

With all the chaos going on with the Trump administration, I think it's very important that everyone watches this video, made by a civil rights activist and lawyer for over 20 years (as well as avid Pathfinder GM and TTRPG enjoyer). He goes over the importance that we the people need to stop Trump from enacting his facist agenda, calls out the Democratic party and liberals for letting everything so far happen, and most importantly, repeatedly showcases the power that the American population and what we can do to stop all of this.
I will note that this video only has 13K VIEWS! It is long, about an hour and a half, but it's divided up into chunks in case you don't have that much time to devote to watching a video. Please watch this, sooner rather than later, even if it's only bit by bit. I regret not watching it sooner when it came out because if I did, I might've been able to contribute to a rally by now.
It is slightly outdated because it was before Elon started gutting the government but the overall message remains the same. We need to fight back, or else America is at risk of becoming another Nazi Germany.
If you care about immigration rights, racial minority rights, women's rights, LGBTQ+ rights, trans rights, and otherwise the rights of those who are oppressed in America, please watch the video and reblog this post.
I love messing with these annoying accounts
