Sometimes a beloved mutual transitions and starts frequenting places you wouldn't go yourself, yk?
when your beloved mutual suddenly joins a fandom you have no interest in
Reblogs in a chain now get their own notes
The reblog chain is one of the things that makes Tumblr unlike anywhere else. All the notes on reblogs are attributed to the original post, no matter which branch people actually liked or reblogged. We want to keep encouraging conversations, and give contributors the recognition they deserve.
Soon, you'll be able to like, reblog, or reply to any part of a reblog chain, and that note will go to that reblog's author. Each reblog will have its own counts, instead of one aggregated number from every version of the post. And yes, you’ll be able to like multiple posts in one chain.
If a reblog doesn't add anything, the love flows up to the last person in the chain who did. Your post doesn't lose notes just because people spread it quietly.
Past notes will stay on the original post — we're only changing what happens from here on out. Retroactively re-attributing all of them would be... a lot.
This is just the beginning. More changes are coming as we keep building this out – stay tuned!
Hey so I feel like this is a bad idea and presents more incentive for spam and post-thieving. The biggest problem this presents is an even larger fracturing of information on what is already a rather difficult site to gather consensus information on. Are those who created the initial posts now left in the dark if someone were to create a new reblog under their original post? Is the idea of any post reaching 1,000, 5,000, 10,000... notes now completely impossible? People do like virality to a degree, shrinking the sphere of interaction to individual posts risks individualizing the communities here on tumblr even further.

Little celebratory Flameingo bc today some more Mingos have been added to the Plunderland arc 🎉 *looks at your in a "you should totally read it" kind of way*👀
Special thanks to @keisiey for giving me the original idea 🫶
I sent this to my roommate who is getting her orchi this week. I told her to make sure to ask for her 15% discount
Being online and not knowing imperial measurements is fun because you'll be on the internet seeing memes all talking about being six feet tall like it's a huge giant massive hulking big man size and just once decide to look it up and it's just 183 cm. That's like... 3 cm above the male average here. You could be that height and nobody would remark on it because that's literally the most normal height to be.
And then I look up what 8 inches is in cm and jesus absolutely fuck that. If I saw that irl I'm going to lock myself in the bathroom and escape through the vents.
It gets better.
like to think that after she becomes a princess, Cinderella keeps making little outfits for mice😀 🐀👕👖
nice
also, agreed re @brain-deadx0’s tags:
What I am understanding is that the Prince’s look is “Why don’t I get a little outfit sewn by my wife🥺”

a hollywood animation studio, impressed by the lion king (1994)’s ability to adapt shakespeare’s hamlet to a modern-day audience, wanted to recreate the feat with a dinosaur-based adaptation of one of sophocles’ tragedies. they’re calling it o. rex
a chinese studio was inspired by this to pay dinosaur-based homage to their own cultural heritage with a film about the major figures of the spring and autumn period. it’s called 恐龙子, released internationally as the art of roar
Some people wanted to see more of Ol’ Lucy, so here it is!

vampires are so full of shit. "oh the human race is beneath us, you're just livestock to us" I don't think you know what livestock is. do you feed us? care for us? protect us from predators? no. you just slink around dark alleys and ambush people. that's not what a higher being does. that's a bottom feeder. a parasite. karate punches your head off

kyoulle (french kyle) downing a nicotine redbull and attempting to put a hole through the thousand year old cobblestone wall in his bedroom
This issue came to light when in Jersey shore: family vacation when the gang went to Italy and fuckhead Mike slammed his head into an 800 year old concrete wall full speed expecting it to be upstate NY plywood and got a neck injury and looked like this the rest of the season
