Here is that Caine x Tenna comic I promised to share. But no kiss! Sorry guys, but I only promised to draw them kissing if Caine won that last round, but Caine didn't won. Tenna did. I gotta keep my word. But hey! There is always the next Tumblr Sexyman contest, next year! Haha! Enjoy!
Tumblr post and contest by @mimosa-sexypeople-contests-2026
Thanks for putting the contest together in the first place! It got me inspired and got me drawing all these cool drawings. It was fun.
Hanahaki disease is a psychosomatic illness. It's a thing that your body does in response to stress over constantly repressing/concealing your feelings in settings with high background magic. It's like you've been ignoring pain for a long time and suddenly your vision starts going dark, because your affected body is just YANKING on random alerts trying to get you to PAY ATTENTION there is a PROBLEM. Yes the flowers do really exist. So do non-magical psychosomatic symptoms. The flowers aren't special.
This does of course open up the trope to options for non-romantic concealed feelings. Which I think is great. There is something viscerally satisfying about the person who seems so outwardly chipper coughing and hacking and spitting up Depression Flowers so now everyone has to know they're hurting. Isn't there?
Hanahaki, but it's a child that feels neglected by their parents.
Hanahaki, but it's someone whose friends have started ghosting them.
Hanahaki, someone's wife is cheating on them.
Hanahaki, the disease that gives you three options: confront your feelings, destroy the love you hold for someone or perish choking on roses.
Imagine this for transness
Hanahaki but it’s your body desperately needing you to love and care for it while your mind is trapped in the body that doesn’t fit, that’s wrong as it destroys you from the inside out the longer you aren’t able to get help to make your body feel like you
My fake son learned the alphabet today. I’m so proud of him, in theory.
I'm so sorry
i kind of hate it when they cast the same 10 superstars who are in literally everything in a movie. celebrity-sickness
not every movie needs to be an ensemble cast of timothee chalamet, zendaya, tom holland, robert pattinson, and anya taylor-joy
unpopular opinion probably but I actually like that ao3 doesn’t let people take back their kudos.
unlike social media platforms (which ao3 is not) where people unlike stuff whenever they think or find out the original posters’ moral compass doesn’t perfectly align with their own’s or whatever, and “likes” can be taken back at any time, ao3 treats kudos as something sacred. once you give it, it’s the author’s to keep forever.
after Jason reveals his identity as the Red Hood i like to think about the kids begging for Jason to hang out with them and rejoin the family and that but Jason’s being a little bitch about it so when Dick asks for his phone number he just throws an ouija board at him and says ‘i’ll sense it’
issue is that while slightly drunk and sad that his brother hates him, Dick decided to try it out, and Damian watching him through a crack in the door thought it would be funny to text Jason (because he actually does have his league bro’s number) about it so that Jason could maybe mention it the next time they see each other on patrol to freak Dick out, except Jason was working not too far from the manor at the time and he thought it would be even funnier to swing by, slam up against the window and scream through the glass ‘STOP FUCKING DRUNK TEXTING ME’ and absolutely scares the shit out of Dick. so now Dick thinks that ouija boards actually work on Jason because he’s still part ghost and Jason and Damian are scrambling to try and keep up the ruse because of how funny it is.
dick: "jason can you come over i miss you :("
jason: climbs through window, moves the planchette to 'no', climbs back out the window
dick: "no fucking way"
as the french say, merci goku
You never know what color pallette someone's Tumblr is till ppl are screenshotting posts and tags

the emotion i just experienced is kind of indescribable
the funniest part of this post to me is that the reblog:like ratio is nearly 1:1. nobody’s just liking everyone who sees this video goes yeah i gotta inflict it on as many people as possible
Then a hornèd God was found,
And a God of serpents crowned;
And for that are serpents wound
In the wands his maidens bear,
And the songs of serpents sound
In the mazes of their hair.

i just got the "see where your blood has gone!" email from giving blood but it glitched and just showed me my current location. which. theyre not wrong. that is where most of my blood is
Going to a seder at a family friend's place tonight and I have been informed multiple times that someone there has changed her name to Stephanie, but because it seems nobody wants to deadname her, nobody has specified who Stephanie is. So I guess I'm just going to get a surprise Stephanie when I arrive.
I am among the first people to arrive which means I get to play a fun process of elimination game. It is not the family's youngest child so I think that leaves two more. Unless Stephanie is an aunt or a niece or something.
Have learned that Stephanie is the eldest child. Which is very convenient for me because she is the one family member whose name I could not remember anyway.
“We hope this email finds you well” babe, the only emails I hope find me well are the ones from Archive of Our Own

several asks in my inbox about the nolan odyssey now that it's out so i will make my One Obligatory Post and so that i can be free to pass through the gate of false dreams and never think about it again
personally i have stopped caring about the movie itself in terms of whether it's a "good" version of the odyssey. there are things i have heard about it that i think are kind of dumb choices to make but i also like my odysseus to suck bigly and unrepentenly and tbh the version of odysseus in my head is not a very homeric one at all! it's more informed by things like the philoctetes and the aeneid because i personally find those depictions more interesting. there are also things i've heard that intrigue me but i refuse to pay money to see this movie
what i find is more important to focus on is the conversations about things like the treatment of shooting locations or the fucking iranian artifacts turned into jewlery for an american actress to wear while the us is actively waging war against iran. just as any ancient telling of odysseus's story, the nolan odyssey does not exist in a vacuum. i'm sure there are interesting things to analyze in the movie as a story but personally the issue that concerns me more is the analysis of this movie as a way for the classics to once again be interpreted and used by someone from a powerful colonizing nation for entertainment while actively appropriating aspects of other cultures. like it feels like heavy handed satire at this point except it's real. if we're going to give this movie critical attention i just think this is more important to think about than whether the movie is "good"
also i think the trojan horse looks dumb as hell and troy 2004 did a way better job at it. which is saying something.

as someone with a bachelor’s degree in english, i am inexpressibly tired of people telling me to get highly specific jobs that often require highly specific degrees. “just go write for a magazine!” you need a journalism degree for that. “just teach!” you need a teaching certificate, and also fuck you. “just go work at a tutoring place!” tutoring children with learning disabilities, which make up the majority of the clientele at those places, requires not only a teaching certificate but a specialized master’s degree. “just go work at a library!” you need a master’s degree in library science to be a librarian. it is actually a highly skilled and extremely competitive field. you don’t just “go work at a library,” you train for years in the vain hope that you will get one of handful of available jobs. “just go work at a library.” the nerve. the unmitigated gall. “just go work at a library.” ugh.
serious question, what can you do with a bachelor’s in english?
take you in a fistfight, that’s for damn sure
A few actual answers for any panicking liberal arts majors out there:
Paralegal (8wk cert helpful but usually not required). Industry is desperate for employees. In my experience, you’ll often make as much as the junior attorneys. Excellent job security as long as your firm exists. And if it folds, there are more firms desperate to hire.
Public Relations, Communications, and Marketing. No you do not need a specific degree in those areas to apply for jobs in them. Most of the communications people at my current place were English majors (many graduating in the last five years)
Yes, you can teach English with just an English BA, at least in the US. Most K-12 private schools do not require a teaching certificate and you can start immediately. And if you want to teach public K-12, most states have a fast-track 8wk (one summer) teaching certificate program
Grant writer. Look for universities and nonprofits. Not a traditional job route but one you CAN do - volunteer to write grants for nonprofits in your area to build your portfolio, then apply to jobs with your experience supporting you. Your English degree is incredibly good training for this field.
Copy editing and publishing. Jobs are limited but if it’s your passion, you can find something. Work at it and self-advocate.
Executive Assistants with a heavy writing responsibilities often get paid relatively well and can have fascinating jobs.
Creative writing. Take a year and write your sci-fi novel, or scripts for YouTube videos, or whatever else you’re called to write. The world will be waiting on the other side.
Also: get creative in looking for positions!! English is an incredibly powerful degree in that it’s trained you how to quickly and analytically process a large amount of information and communicate it back with critical analysis. The only reason it gets trashed is that the career paths from are rarely traditional or straightforward: it’s not an engineering degree that pipelines into one of three industries (that you’ll probably be fired from within five years), it’s a degree that you use to find your own way in the world.
My English major friends went on to become (with zero additional schooling): a hospital administrator making six figures, a translator living in Belgium, a report writer for McKinsey & Co, a state representative and political organizer, a nonprofit vice president, a bank manager, and a script supervisor for Hollywood.
Or, at the end of the day, maybe you just want to be a very well-read person doing a job that might only require a GED or AA/AS. That is perfectly fine too. Education for the sake of education and not to better commodify yourself in the economy is a wonderful way to spend your brief time spinning around the globe and I’m very proud of you for doing that.
