Andrew isn’t tactile? bullshit! at least not when it comes to Neil. I absolutely refuse to believe that the man who, in the very first book, was already brushing his fingers across Neil’s back hard enough to “send goosebumps down his spine,” and who was already fighting the urge to kiss him by the second book, somehow isn’t tactile. I refuse to believe he wouldn’t finish his coffee, toss the mug into the sink, and, on his way past Neil, casually catch him by the waist to steady himself just long enough to press a quick kiss to his cheek. I refuse to believe he wouldn’t stand behind Neil while he washes the dishes, lazily draping an arm around his waist, absentmindedly tapping his fingertips against Neil’s thigh as he waits. or quietly take Neil’s hand into his own, trace the familiar lines of his scars with his thumb, and finish by pressing a few soft kisses against his knuckles. I refuse to believe he wouldn’t pull himself closer before they fall asleep just to bury his face in the crook of Neil’s neck and breathe him in. or idly trace little, meaningless shapes across Neil’s knee with the tip of his finger during yet another team meeting. do I think Andrew is more tactile than Neil? no. not in the way people usually mean it. Neil’s affection is obvious. It’s visible, instinctive, impossible to miss. Andrew’s is quiet. It’s found in barely-there touches, fleeting brushes of his hand, small gestures that almost anyone else would overlook. Neil always notices.
it's funny how all the movies from the '70s and '80s (and even some from the '90s!) just assumed that smog would get worse and worse until the earth (or at least LA) was perpetually shrouded in smoke, then the government banned smog and it went away; incredible really.
Acid rain went from being a pollution disaster to an environmental success story. How did scientists manage to prove that acid rain existed,
similarly "acid rain" was a genuinely devastating problem that was solved, eventually, by banning it! turns out you can just do things.
I wish we lived in a beautiful world where people did not use things for evil because I wish I could send gifts to people without knowing their address or asking them to doxx themselves. because like. for example sometimes i will be like oh that's a cute guinea pig plushie I wish I could send it to my guinea pig mutual who I've never spoken to or interacted with because I think they'd like it. but I can't do that without being like, hi, I'm a stranger on the internet you've never spoken to, tell me your home address, I want to mail you an object. I just want to be able to hand a box to the post office worker and be like, hello, this is for guineapigmutual, and they will nod and say yep we know exactly who that is and they will take it and mail it and I don't need to ever know the actual address or name or anything. unfortunately things cannot work like this but I can dream
Where's that tweet about how American chants are "let's go [team name] and some other country (Irish?) fans are "I've made up a song about the other team's drinking problem to the tune of London Bridge Is Falling Down one two three"?
Do it scared but please don't do it hungry. Please don't do it dehydrated. It's gonna make it so much scarier. Please.
i don't really want to weight in on the "using big words in your writing is ableist" discourse happening on tiktok because i'm like 90% certain it's an anti-intellectual psyop to stir up drama in online circles to promote the use of ai to summarize literally everything and thus feeding the LLMs and lowering the populace's mistrust of such tools but i also have to say: dictionaries and thesauruses are the most accessible they've ever been. if you use an e-reader of any kind you can look up a word without leaving the page. there's a plethora of online dictionaries and if you just type a word + "meaning" into google it'll usually give you a definition. we used to have pocket dictionaries we used when reading in class. i have two on my shelf right now that i used in high school. stop letting the fascists purposefully misuse anti-ableism rhetoric to trick you into never thinking again.
y’know for me it straight up doesn’t even occur to me to unfollow someone when they stop posting whatever it is i followed them for. unless the thing they’re posting about now is somehow actually actively upsetting to me i just accept it as a part of my life now. i’ll just scroll past it like i’m driving a car and dodging an obstacle on the road. and that part of the road is my daily commute and the thing stays on the road forever and i swerve around it every day for months instead of ever taking the initiative to get it removed. it just adds flavor i guess
How dare you leave this in the tags.
fuck it. be creative even if you never really *make* anything. write out plot synopses of stories and then move on. design OCs you'll never use. make mood boards and concept art and don't do anything with them. life's too short to forget everything that inspired you and creation doesn't have to be "complete" to be worth the time you put into it.
Same goes for unfinished projects!! Life happens, priorities shift, and before you know it it's been months or years. That's okay! It's a lovely creative artifact of that period of your life.
This video is a hate crime against Italians
I really love the older guy just gasping and dropping what he was doing
Albanian fans breaking spaghetti in front of Italian fans before the Euro match
"Love/sex is what makes us human" Wrong. It's the obsession with rectangles. look around you and count the number of rectangles you see.
#looked up and thought ‘that can’t be hard’#and then my eyes widened with horror as I realized the sheer number of rectangles everywhere#I’m . I’m horrified
It's a good shape!
Profiction/proshipping, at its core, is a combination of three ideas:
Ship and let ship (your ships don't harm me and vice-versa) and YKINMK (your kink is not my kink, and that's okay; my kink stories don't harm you and vice-versa)
Harassment over fiction is not acceptable
Censorship of fiction is not acceptable either
That's it.
i am some sort of fey creature and my cat is the human who i have arbitrarily decided is my favorite human.
i live, to him, an unfathomably long life
i have access to powers and locations that he cannot access independently; he needs my help to navigate the world i've brought him to
i simply found him outside and abducted him one day
there are many cats in the world, but this one is the best and my most favorite. why? because he was available to abduct that morning and for very little other reason.
i have a much greater understanding of this world than him, but he has unshakable confidence in his ability to figure it out and i find that really cute
the power dynamic is fundamentally unbalanced, but i let him have a little audacity. a little combativeness and sass. as a treat.
some humans are needlessly cruel to cats or take them in for a short time before neglecting or abandoning them. but i have chosen to love and guard this one with my life. because i think he's neat.
he is very well-treated and has pretty much everything he could possibly want or need, but he is my prisoner.
