Okay I have things I should be seeing to but I couldn't help myself. In case you, like me, have not read all of these stories and would like to be amongst the lucky 10,000 today:
I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream by Harlan Ellison
The King in Yellow by Robert W Chambers*
The Lottery by Shirley Jackson**
The Masque of the Red Death by Edgar Allan Poe
The Monkey's Paw by W.W. Jacobs
The Most Dangerous Game by Richard O'Connell
The Nameless City by HP Lovecraft
The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas by Ursula K LeGuin
There Will Come Soft Rains by Ray Bradbury
The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman
The Veldt by Ray Bradbury
Honorable Mention from the comments/reblogs:
All Summer in a Day by Ray Bradbury
*note: this is actually a collection of short stories and clocks in at about 72k words
**Originally published in the New Yorker in 1948; interestingly, the New Yorker still has this story archived on their website BEHIND A PAYWALL. CAN YOU IMAGINE.
Taking a break from comms and good omens art to bring you this exclusive first look at The Pitt Season 3 opener🤠
i think the reason robby is so suicidal rn is because the world has tortured him just short of the amount of suffering that's required for a person to go FUCK IT. I SURRENDER à la trinity surrendering partway through the shift. like it hits a point where you simply have to laugh and you just accept that life will be terrible and beautiful. abbot has long since passed that point and that's why he's semi-stable like he only dabbles in suicide-baiting he's not going to the olympics like robby is. and part of that is because he got his leg blown to smithereens while at war. all of this is to say: who says a motorcycle accident explosion WOULDN'T be good for robby.... in fact it might be exactly what he needs in order to become normal
if your favorite oc ever broke containment and developed their own fandom, what would the most pervasive discourse about them be?
too beautiful/smart/skilled/strong/perfect/etc
blatantly evil in some way
was mean to someone once
the unforgivable crime of just being kind of annoying
“in the way” of a popular ship
age gap relationship (2-10 years)

(i’m not giving a “multiple apply” option on this one. pick the most applicable/what you think would be the most argued about.)

Hi! I put together an introduction post to block printing on fabric, based on my experience so far. Some basic info on printmaking blocks, ink types and the like. Enjoy!
Reblog and put in the tags if there’s any text printed on the clothes you’re wearing right now and if yes, what does it say?
Happy Anniversary. This is the original post. On this day in 2011 I was doing a charity drive for the natural disasters in Tōhoku and drew this. A few hours later I turned it into a gif and posted it here.
Here’s the original doodle before I drew it into a GIF
Happy 14th birthday Nyan Cat! The original post originated here on Tumblr
A lot has changed these past 15 years but it’s delightful to see this little cat continuing to zip past every corner of the internet. Happy 15th birthday to Nyan Cat!
Thank you to everybody who has kept it going all this time. Drew a special cake version today to celebrate 🎂✨
Happy 15th birthday Nyan Cat!
ngl this is the funniest procedural thing ive made in a while i saw https://genders.wtf/gauntlet/ and realized that the only way it could be better is if it went forever

I think I find this post every April Fools Day and I am so happy that I do
WHAT THE FUCK
i missed it last year so i’ve had this scheduled for an entire damn year
Great, now I need to clean snorted water out of my keyboard.
Last Monday was a little rough.
[Description: Three text messages sent by me. First is “Me: Selects all the files I need to open.” Second is “Me: hits delete instead of enter.” Third is, “Oh so it’s gonna be that kind of day.”]
Couldn't stop thinking about that tweet, I love the idea of a god promoting his faith.
a collection of my favorite tweets regarding the Ever Given in the Suez Canal
happy 1st bday to... this.
I personally am declaring this to be a new International Holiday
Happy 2nd anniversary to the Suez Canal blockage!
Ever Given Week, 22 March to 29 March (observed)
22 March - Ever Given Eve. Many celebrate by completing some small task they’ve been putting off, symbolically clearing blockages in their own lives.
23 March - Blockage Day! The main celebration. The exchanging of memes.
24 to 28 March - Hilarity ensues. Memes continue to circulate. The best are saved for next year’s observances.
29 March - Clearance Day. Festivities wind down. A more solemn occasion.
POLYCULE DATE IDEA: stab a major world leader to death together ❤️❤️❤️
What if we locked eyes over the body of Julius Ceasar?
Missed connection: me holding a knife, you also holding a knife, there was screaming, I think I'm in love but I never caught your name. Meet me in the forum in front of the temple of Jupiter, I'll be holding an apple.
