Hey

Send me questions about lesbians or ace discourse or literally anything and I’ll try my best to answer them
Hip new idea: not hating lesbians by default until we prove our goodness and instead viewing us as individual human beings and judging each person for their individual actions and values
There are Lgbt+ aces/aros and their are aces and aros who aren’t lgbt+ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Uhh idk if you missed anything mega important but there's one recent thing I can think of. There have been lots of people (particularly trans guys) saying he/him lesbians are transphobic. A few have been putting it like "I vehemently hate he/him lesbians". Thought this might pertain to you bc it lesbophobic! Anyway, happy to have you back (even if you won't post consistently)! We missed you 💗💗
I’ve seen some of the backlash of that on twitter (I’ve been mainly using that in place of tumblr the last couple months?? Idk)) But I mean, I don’t necessarily think I’ll be posting as much as I used to? Maybe once over a week or whatever? Idk. 💖
A little update
So this blog has been fairly inactive for almost a year. I decided to take a break for a little while and then that little while lasted a lot longer.
I wasn’t in the best place mentally, and to be honest I’m still not in a completely good place, but I’m better.
I still stand by the views I’ve made clear in the past, that asexuals aren’t inherently lgbt+ but that they can be. But I got a ridiculous amount of hate for this and was deleting so many anons it was silly. The whole nature of this discourse was putting a massive strain on me so I removed myself from the situation.
I’m not 100% back to posting and I don’t know if I will ever be but if someone could fill me in on anything important I’ve missed that would be great.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
textbook: (historical figure) remained celibate throughout their entire life
me, a homosexual who Knows Better: sure
Me, an asexual:
this is a post about gay sex
oh….those tags…ow. ok. guess we’ll stay in our ace corner. doing our ace culture thing. and never feel comfortable to input ever again.
good thanks
“ace culture”
Ace culture is thinking anyone asked
Piss???? The hell???? Off???? Let ace people have their historical figures and stop trying to make everything allosexual.
it’s time to make ace culture be shutting the fuck up and also not being homophobes
A black, asexual, cis heteroromantic woman– ace because she survived rape– shows up in a queer safe space because she feels unsafe elsewhere.
Aphobic Reactionaries: Get out of here you homophobic, transphobic scum!!! You’re trying to colonize our spaces!! You’re trying to desexualize us!! YOU’RE OPPRESSING US!!!
-why did u include this theoretical person being black
-do you have any idea what a reactionary is
-do you have any idea how transphobic the term ARF/AERF/REG are
-why are using someone’s theoretical trauma as a weapon for ur discourse.
-a cishet assault survivor obv deserves a safe space to express their experiences and how it influences their ace identity,, which is why there is such a big push for the ace/aro community to have its own space separate from the lgbt community. someone dealing with their relationship to their aceness, esp if a result of trauma, is inherently just a completely different experience than the ones shared in a community for trans ppl and people who experience asg.
-do not label a space meant for lgbt ppl (regardless of whether you feel it includes ace ppl) a “q**** safe space”
-cishets still oppress lgbt ppl on the basis of being cishet even if they’re a person of color. racial oppression exists on a different axis than homophobic or transphobic oppression
You can sit here and write these walls of text and finger wag like this isn’t the distillation of your bigotry, but this is literally what you think compacted into a few sentences.
You think this hypothetical ace person is your oppressor, and that just highlights what a disgusting bunch of ARF scum you are.
You bigots are in no position to finger wag so stfu.
“wall of text” lmfao i bullet pointed a few questions and concerns about the post?? you’re using trauma victims and black people as weapons in ur argument to insist they can’t be oppressors of lgbt ppl when,,, all cishets are oppressors of lgbt ppl. people of color and assault survivors deserve spaces for expressing their specific experiences but it doesn’t matter how u phrase it ,, cishet ppl don’t belong in lgbt spaces for having lived other marginalized experiences unrelated to being lgbt. and ur transphobic for using ARF so u don’t exactly get to dictate the validity of trans ppl and their discomfort with sharing lgbt spaces with cishets
KALSDFJLKA inclusionists are out here just blatantly lying now ?? “literal centuries” where ?? where ?? where is this “centuries”-old queer community that’s using “cis heteroromantic heterosexual” ????
also lmao this is kuroba101’s new url and guess what? they’re still absolute ass at 30 years old
wow can u believe peter parker is a trans boy?? iconic.
He’s not.
if he’s not trans, then how can you explain THIS:
You know if you’re going to call me a transphobe do It in the actual post and not in the tags.
better?
Yeah. But sadly you’re wrong, I’m no transphobe.
are you sure?
Yes because your straw man argument is completely idiotic. Peter Parker, the well established superhero isn’t trans. It’s simple fact. If the creator wanted them to be trans he would’ve said so. Now I have no issues if you want to make this head cannon but don’t try to push it as fact.
I find it sooooo funny (aka annoying) that straight people will never truly understand the real goals of the gay community
Like they think all we want is to be treated like everyone else. To not be ostracized for being who we are. And they’re right.
But then they take this goal they think we have and somehow in their tiny Het brains it translates to “they want to be seen as straight people, they want to conform, they want gay to become a meaningless label”
So then ally culture becomes “I don’t see gay people as any different, I don’t care about sexuality, the only difference between us is who we love etc.”
And they completely miss the point that we loooove being gay. We love pride, we love talking about our sexuality and how it affects us (if we’re safe to do so) we love having a sense of community and belonging.
What’s gross about this mindset is it stems from the fact that straights cannot even fathom treating gay people like their equals without erasing our identity and forcing us to conform. “I don’t care about your sexuality, I still love you” is false allyship, and in the long term does more harm than good. What gay people truly want is “I see your sexuality, I recognize that your struggles and goals are different than mine, and I’m still going to treat you like a human and give you the rights you deserve”
If you can’t see me as your equal while also recognizing that I’m a lesbian, you are not an ally.
I would love to have at least one conversation about reclaiming the word queer without someone barging in to demand that no one calls them queer because they haven’t reclaimed it. Like, we get it, you don’t like the word, that’s why we’re using it for ourselves. I’m just so tired of being derailed.
One of the main things is that it shouldn't be used as an umbrella term because it hasn't been reclaimed completely by all. It's not about detailing your own personal reclamation, I wholeheartedly respect that, it's about ensuring no one is triggered or made to feel uncomfortable as, although many have reclaimed it, it's still a slur. People who 'barge in' and telling you not to call them q*eer isn't derailing it's simply them telling you not to call them it and just like us respecting your reclamation, you need to respect them asking not to be called a slur.
So very, very simple in concept, so very, very complicated in reality for absolutely no reason whatsoever.
big shout outs to all my fellow lgbt folks tonite… to all the great gays The and lovely lesbians… to the pretty pan ppl and the brilliant bis.. the nifty nbs and the terrific trans folks………… have a good nite. also if ur a homophobe or a transphobe/ terf and ur reading this i want u to know that 1) ur not welcome here and 2) if a giant squid was attacking u id be cheering
Honestly? This blog has become pretty dead due to personal circumstances such as illness and what not. I don't know when I'll be more active on here.
