I made a Tim Drake tomodachi and a Peter Parker tomodachi on my little island. Little Tim tomodachi tripped, so I sent Little Peter tomodachi to help him up.

Tim tomodachi immediately fell in love with Peter tomodachi.

He's been on the island for all of 30 seconds, max.

Came home from work, loaded up Ao3. Oh no, it's down! Okay, maybe it will be up before bed. Got in bed, loaded up Ao3. Oh no, it's still down. Dang, that means I actually have to sleep. Well, bed time i guess. Woke up, loaded up Ao3 out of curiosity. It's still down. It's the vendor's support team that the Ao3 volunteers are waiting on. They are so lucky, I hysterically giggle to myself at 5 in the morning, that Ao3 doesn't name names, because there would be a million fanwriters and readers that would pounce on then in a heartbeat.

I giggle again, before eating my breakfast. My smile drops when I realized that the rabid fans would also include me. Fuck.

I come home from work. I check tumblr. I see that ao3 is up! I go to ao3. I want to read MCU fanfiction, of course. I load up ao3. Ao3 is down. I double check my source.

It was up. During the sole hours of 9 to 5, when I was working. Fate is a cruel mistress.

Romance is a bullshit emotion. Like, what is it supposed to be? Is it amplified platonic emotions? Platonic a little to the left? Crush but ten times stronger?

Is my human programing supposed to be able to recognize it, to know it on sight? My parents never dated, they were best friends before my dad purposed over a letter (like the sweetheart dumbass he is). For some reason, my mom said yes. What emotion was there? What drives that agreement, to know you'll be tied to someone else the rest of you life? For society to expect you to kiss and hug and have kids, to do the other things I don't understand of romance, and the feelings of romantic love I don't understand?

I don't understand. I feel my heart is irrevokably broken by the fact I can't understand. I don't feel it, and it hurts deep down inside that I can't feel it. I want to love like that, to devote myself completely to one person. I want to love and fight and struggle and live for another person, to go hand in hand in life. I want to love like that.

But I don't, and I'm afraid I can't.

You know how Kris, in the dark world, was met by an overexcited paternal figure that only remembered their past interests and feelings, refusing to see Kris for how they are now?

Noelle, in the dark world, was met with an overbearing maternal figure who smothered her, refusing to let her go under the guise of protecting her?

Remember how Birdly was met with an maternal figure that did everything in their power to avoid him, even as he completed more grandiose and desperate goals in an attempt to gain her attention and affection?

Remember how we know nothing about Birdly or his family?

I don't like this contrast anymore.

Now I'm thinking how Queen's arc with Noelle concludes with Noelle actually standing her ground, and Queen responds by accepting what she wants without pressuring her further.

Also thinking about how satisfied Susie is with Lancer's "Jail is for Dads only" law, and how the once dangerous tyrant is now safely confined, all his sharp edges filed down and now resigned to his new Surly Buffoon status.

Thinking (for no particular reason) how Ralsei's insistence that Darkners' desires are informed by the needs of Lightners, and that, while they can be their own full person as well, that drive to please and meet whatever their expectations may be, is still there.

AHH I didn't think about the King dang it! You're 100% right, pre-ch1 Susie has a great contrast with the King, and sometimes I wonder if that's the reason Lancer and Susie got along so well at the start. Like recognizes like, after all.

Does anyone know an Undertale fanfiction where the fallen human (pacifist run) does die at the hands of Asgore? I want a story with monsterkind's perspective. What does Undyne, Papyrus, Toriel think?

Bonus points for going to the surface, and double points for Flowey's perspective.

It's a common idea that the first 6 souls to fall, after Chara's death, could reset, at least for a limited time, since all human souls have determination. This is coupled with lines from Toriel about "everytime a human passes through, I feel like I know them already," as well as hints from the Asgore fight. I propose a second, slight horrific theory- the human children couldn't reset. The current timeline we're in at the start of Undertale is not from the childrens' influence, but Flowey's.

Flowey would have easily been bored enough to let the children wander through the underground, probably helping sometimes, hinder at others. He is obviously sadistic to put someone through that, no doubt.

He even states he thought he was the only one with the power to save and reset.

The only hard part about this is pinning down the exact time of Flowey's creation. Was it around the same times as the amalgamates? Before that? We know it was long enough to harass Sans and for Flowey to get bored of the world, but that means nothing to a world reseting God-like being.

Overall, the timeline of Undertale before we fall is notoriously vague and difficult to pin down, so we will likely never actually know when Flowey was created. Even then, I don't think this theory holds anything more then some water for creative liberty in fanfiction. Regardless, it's a horrible and intriguing thought.
