Not Simon's home if he were on earth, but his biodome!

I like to think that Simon’s home is inspired by the American badlands. The strokes of terracotta mark plateaus and ridges. The lowest points would have simulated streams or patches of sand. It’s also a great opportunity for the makers of his enclosure to embed caves and outcoves that Simon could not only hide in but also explore.

His home would be something of a grotto. A story tall, with something of a tower/ story thats half the size of the first. With a balcony bc he deserves it! If the Eridians got his enthusiastic cooperation, he'd allow for the weather to be a demiswitch of mist to full-out rain. Very rarely is it sunny in his space (only when Grace comes by). He probably has a homemade basement/bunker bc old habits of preparing for the worst die hard.

I'm also a subscriber of the Mermaid Coded Elderich Horror Simon HC, so imagine that but partially submerged in water if you want.

I don’t ship Grace and Simon but the shippers did make me speculate on how it would work.

I don’t think Simon is some natural alpha top but he wants to survive more than anything and he spent years in a hardcore prison where he probably learned some unhealthy things about sex between men. So what does Grace, who clearly doesn’t care about power plays and masculinity, do in that situation? I imagine it would be an extremely slow burn where Simon has to learn that being guarded and aggressive won’t do him any good on Erid.

This- I like a lot.

Even though I’m a subscriber of the slow burn hurt comfort dynamic, there are obviously things that Simon cannot shake. Control in what he's getting into, being one of them.

Even though he didn't enjoy being shoved into the iron lung, he at least had the hope of getting out and subsequent freedom waiting for him when his job was done. That was enough control for him- at that point- "give up this to get that" mentality. All the more since it was only going to be a one-time thing- in Simon's mind that is.

All of that being a lie only grounds this need more, as said trauma has yet to be unpacked and probably never will in a single lifetime. Let alone Simon's lifetime.
