So, I accidentally made a new Marvel AU.

OMG, this AU feels so compelling!! 🤩🤩🤩

Because Marvel's themes of power, responsibility, prejudice, and heroism wouldn’t just disappear in 1910—they would arguably become even sharper against the backdrop of one of the most turbulent periods in modern history.

I’m talking empires instead of global superpowers, early airplanes and tanks, trench warfare, colonialism at its height, primitive medicine, telegraphs instead of smartphones, secret societies thriving in the shadows— and a public that is much more superstitious and willing to believe in monsters, spirits, and miracles.

And the X-Men! 🥰🥰🥰

This is where things would get really interesting.

Mutants emerging during the early twentieth century would be genuinely frightening to governments.

There are no civil rights frameworks. No modern understanding of genetics.

Many people would see mutants as divine punishment, evolutionary monsters, evidence of degeneration or a military threat.

Magneto and Xavier become even more compelling because they're arguing over mutant survival in a world that is openly authoritarian.

Going off of the peak of colonialism perspective- Wakanda is in constant danger, even though that the state is technologically leagues advanced than the rest of the world. I honestly be very curious about the the immigration crisis of other Africans trying to seek sanctuary inside of Wakanda and how that would affect the nation as a whole.

On a more individual level, would T’Challa be a mystery to the rest of the world? Would he be a non-factor? would he be something to laugh off in diplomatic meetings? Or would he be one temptation away from a war monger? He commands respect and honor wherever he goes, but would that standing fray given the amount of strain placed on Africa as a whole. I doubt that his ation internally would not be touched by the Europeans however, the impact on economics and diplomacy across the continent would shake up the inner workings of Wakanda.

Also, where would storm be in all of this? Would she be working with one of the key players in either side of the war or would she act as a third-party? I can see her working in espionage as a double agent honestly. Her background and thievery would work wonders with it.

I’d also like to throw in an idea of gambit being accidentally traveled into this AU and he’s the only thing that’s not affected.

It’s all so fascinating and I hope to see more of it.
