Throg's favorite Disney song is "Go the Distance" from Hercules.
(needlessly long-winded justification under the read-more)
For those who don't know, Throg is a frog with a tiny replica of Mjolnir called "Frogjolnir." But before he was a frog, he was a human named Simon Walterson.
I think being on a team, and especially being one of the star players of a team, gave him a sense of purpose. Certainly, he loved football. Years later, after becoming a frog, he would claim that it was the only thing he missed about the human world.
Walterson's world was soon rocked after a career-ending injury, but he was eventually able to find new purpose outside of football, in his community, but most of all with his wife. Then tragedy struck.
I think Mrs. Walterson made Simon a better man, and she led the way in their community service most of the time. Simon had found a place where he felt he belonged, but then he lost his favorite part of that place, and he once again lost his sense of belonging. He went broke paying mediums because he didn't know how to go on without her. Maybe the reason he never mentions her name in this flashback is because if he did, he'd break out into tears.
His desperation spirals his life so far out of control that he becomes a frog. He manages to find a new purpose and a new belonging as a soldier in the war between frogs and rats, now bearing the frog name "Puddlegulp."
And then Puddlegulp's world was turned upside-down for at least the fourth time in his life. Only this time, it was not tragedy or misfortune that befell him. He picked up a tiny fragment of Thor's hammer, causing the fragment to turn into a little frog-sized hammer, and he himself turned into Throg, the Frog of Thunder.
But this, too, would shake his sense of belonging. He got bored of using the power of Thor to fight mundane rats and alligators. And he found that the other frogs had become weak from overly relying on him. So he left on yet another search for belonging. His entire arc in the miniseries Lockjaw and the Pet Avengers Unleashed is about him feeling like he doesn't belong anywhere.
In the Pet Avengers continuity, he finds his sense of belonging with the Pet Avengers. In main 616 continuity, he finds it with the Asgardians of the Galaxy, then after that team disbands, as king of a place called Foreverglade.
All that to say, Throg has been going the distance to find where he belongs for his whole life. So I think "Go the Distance" would really resonate with him.
If I ran Marvel, I'd have Doomsday focus on Earth-199999's (I'm not calling it 616) Avengers and New Avengers, because Sam Wilson's Avengers haven't even been assembled yet and they need a movie of their own. Sam's Avengers will be dysfunctional because they've only just been assembled, and the New Avengers will be dysfunctional because, well, they're the Thunderbolts, plus there will be a bit of tension between the two teams over who the "real" Avengers are.
Maybe throw in a few scenes to establish Doom's relationship with Reed to set up Secret Wars which will hopefully be all about them. But other than that, don't put in any of the multiverse fanservice until the end of the movie when the Avengers fail and the multiverse breaks or whatever, because a movie cannot have 30 main characters.
I think it could be a fun exercise to treat Star Wars Legends as literally being in-universe legends, with Disney canon being what "actually happened," and try to imagine how the legends developed the way they did.
Like, maybe someone, looking at what survives of the historical record, knowing that Leia Organa and Han Solo had a son, sees a mention of a guy named Jacen who is said to be the son of a Jedi knight and a Rebellion pilot, and that's where Jacen Solo came from.
The copyright on the first Nancy Drew book expires at the end of the year.
