To be clear because it confused me national disability awareness month happens in March. National diabetes awareness month happens in November. It's arguably even more important to have this conversation during diabetes awareness month because part of awareness for diabetes should be awareness that the prognosis changes with socioecenomic status because of pharmaceutical companies making a buck at the expense of peoples' lives.

Twitter threads are incomprehensible and dense and while they insist you can be "ratioed," you technically never win a Twitter argument.

On Tumblr you can win so decisively, you force that blog to deactivate and then that post will drag around that user's dead fucking body for all of time.

Every time you see it, it's a victory lap around a coffin that we'll never bury. It's astounding.

i think 'spending money on a tumblr verification badge is corny' is completely fair but the people going on about how anyone who has bought one is a terrible person because they could have donated it to charity etc etc etc come off as soooo performative. unless you are yelling at people about every single nonessential purchase they make, and make none yourself ever (video games, little snacks, cute accessories, etc) you're just performing outrage for internet points and it's incredibly 2014-esque.

i find it frustrating when a character makes a decision (especially an emotional one) that makes sense for them as a person to make in a given situation, but because the decision has unforeseen ill effects of some kind, fandoms attribute this choice to the character’s stupidity. because it’s like. no!! they aren’t stupid, they are just trapped within their story and cannot see further forward in it than where and when they are!! they are not looking at this with the omniscient god’s eye view that you, the viewer who has already read this book or seen this movie, are where you know what happens after this and the consequences of every move on the narrative chess board!! they cannot make the decisions that you think you would, knowing what you know, because they don’t have all that insight!!
