I step in and out of fandom a lot. I no longer write for HP. I might write for Arcane or COD instead. We'll see where the muse takes me.

I hold strong opinions. I am anti-JKR and anti-censorship. If anything I post makes you uncomfortable, block me; I write a lot of dead dove and dark content, so read the tags. Likewise, if anything you post makes me uncomfortable, I will block you, usually nothing personal.
Below the cut are my fandoms!

No matter how good your writing is, there will always be someone who doesnât like it
Do NOT change the story to make it palatable to them. They will never like it. There is nothing you can do to make them like it
But there are so many people out there who will like it. And if you tone down the things that make other people not like it, youâre also toning down the things that make these people really like it
Would you rather have a story thatâs loved and hated, or a story that nobody finds notable, and thus is easily forgotten?
Donât tone yourself down to make people like it â tone yourself up. Make it so unapologetically you that instead of merely disliking it, they absolutely hate it
Because at least then youâve left an impression on them, and how your story made them feel will stick with them, whether they like it or not
Our design professors advised: âIf youâre going to do something that goes against every principle Iâve taught you, you need to go all the way. Make me despise it. A half-hearted attempt looks like a mistake. You need to take this so far, anyone who looks at it will say you knew exactly what you were doing.â
I see this in writing all the time. When you get feedback you disagree with, ignore the suggestion (betas are terrible at giving suggestions) but examine the root. Why did they feel the need to call this out? Because it looks like a mistake. You didnât go far enough to make it look intentional.
You need to weave your unique flavour so strongly into your words that no sane editor would ever suggest removing it, because that would cut out the beating heart of the story. Go all the way. Embrace your own style.
(Only my two cents. Everyone has their own thoughts on this topic, of course. But this is advice I agree with.)
aint it crazy how many people realize they're queer when they have the language to express how they feel and a support system to encourage self exploration????
right at the beginning when she's like how do I help my son feel loved and accepted I'm here shouting
"QUEEN YOU ALREADY DID THAT BY TAKING HIS SIDE AND LEAVING THAT NO GOOD HUSBAND FOR HAVING THE AUDACITY TO KICK YOUR BABY OUT!"
And Good for her! this is the only response to a man who kicks out a child.
Going to see children and adolescents dance badly, play ball badly, sing badly, play recorder badly because they are young: YES! YOU ARE LEARNING! INCREDIBLE!
People are so rude about going to watch the children in their lives do stuff shittily. âUgh toddler dance recital,â âugh tee-ball weekend again,â âugh nativity play.â
That guy learned what skipping is this year and now heâs playing the piano the worst Iâve ever seen but the best heâs ever done! ARENâT YOU CAPTIVATED BY THEIR ABILITY TO DO A LITTLE BIT WHEN PREVIOUSLY THEY COULD DO NOTHING? Be filled with wonder and joy!
Hi friendos! It's wip Wednesday and I have been informed that people want to see how the ballgown is going! So to start you off we have the concept sketch I did for this monster of a project.
Then showing off some of the fabulous fabrics I'm using for this project and just how silly drying and cutting the pieces can get!
Interfacing! Which I am only doing sew in for this project because I'm trying to limit buying new materials this year and thus am using fabric I already own for the interfacing.
Bolero! An in progress pic and then a look at how cool it is on me! This bolero is made using leftover fabric from a skirt I did a decade ago and leftovers from that underlayer of my spring lolita dress I did last month!
The skirt!!! Look at how pretty the hong kong binding I did on the seams around my zipper are! And yes I did have to purchase tulle for this because I don't own any green tulle somehow, but with the hoop skirt on under it we are getting some delightful volume on this!
And corset! Using the same pattern I customized for myself last year as part of making a workwear corset for my product class, I used a fun brown for the outside and a green crepe for the inside. The green lining for this is actually the leftovers from a dress my mom made me for my graduation party from cotillion! So it's really fun to be able to use the rest of that on such a cool project <°v°>
Now the last picture has me lacing this up with a ribbon since I hadn't gotten laces yet, and the cups didn't have their underwire yet, so I'll have to make sure to get an updated picture of that for you guys soon!
I have two overskirts I'm working on! And things are starting to feel tight since the event I'm wearing this to is next week. Wish me luck!
So the ball I was making this gown for was over 2 weeks ago and I forgot to give you guys an update before now oops đ
ANYWAY
Here be images of finished corset and the first overskirt under it. With the amount of layers and then pleating those layers to get maximum volume? Had to end up taking this one to the industrial machines at work to finish because my home machine couldn't handle 20 layers of lace, for some odd reason
And the progress pics for the leafy skirt that was a mod layer! This one was pattern drafted by me hehe, and it turned out delightfully
Added a crop top in brown to help balance out the green, just a little
Mask progress! It was a masquerade ball after all! And seeing as this ballgown was made with koroks in mind a korok mask just seemed fitting! I've never done something like this before so it was a fun experiment for me
And here's how she looked at the ball! I had a most lovely time there, and am very very glad some friends invited me!
in less fun news about this project, I have learned that making a ballgown from scratch in 5 weeks while also doing sewing as your day job equals very bad wrist injury that has kept me down for two weeks đ
And here's how bingo is going! The craft fair might just be the hardest one to complete haha, but! Very proud of myself for being brave and entering a fashion contest, which I got accepted into!!! Updates to that that aren't too too revealing to come!
When I was younger I used to be part of the âonly-reads-complete-fics crowdâ but as Iâm getting older Iâm realizing how powerful it can be to have consistent things to look forward toâŠ
All the ppl in the tags laughing abt how fic updates arenât consistent are cowards. I aim to be subbed to at least 365 fics. One for each day of the year. And thatâs just my starting point. Your inbox? Empty. Barren. Fallow. Mine? Bountiful. Overflowing. A cornucopia of ripe treats awaiting my tender consumption. I wade through honey-rich excess while you starve of your own volition.
âI wade through honey-rich excess while you starve of your own volitionâ.Â
This line is the sexiest way to say âYou fucked upâ that I have ever read. I have to start using this in my life when pointing out the follies of others.
I love to read fics in progress! Iâm getting my fics chapter by chapter like some jaunty Victorian type subscribed to Dickens in the newspaper. Iâm cheerleading the author on and supporting by leaving deranged excited comments in the comments section. (a story? for free? for me??!! THANK YOU) Weâre all having a great time! Weâre wailing and gnashing our teefs in the comments when the diabolical angst hits. The jokes! the oooooooooooooooooo s when things are soft or spicy! Itâs a community thing! itâs very fun. The chef is cooking a banquet for us and we are screeching along appreciatively.
â„ â„ đ â„ â„ Ô (đ ᎠđÔ ) [esteemed fanfic author] have a new chapter
(ă„Ꭰ_áŽ)ă„â„ïžâ„ïž !!! â„ïžâ„ïž omg thank u
â„ â„ đ â„ â„ Ô (ê ᎠêÔ ) wait till that diabolical angst hits ooooooo
àŽŠà”àŽŠàŽż àŒàș¶âżàŒàș¶ ) []through wails and gnashing of teefs] ooooooooooo fuckin yes hurts so good
Not sure why it's a new trend among fic readers to assume if the fic has not been posted within the week it's inappropriate to comment on it, like the fic has to be hot out of the oven to give feedback for.
I got a comment on a fic that is less than a year old and it was mostly an apology for being a comment on an "old fic" and how late they were in commenting.
Just comment on the fic. Doesn't matter how old it is.
"why can't they just be friends?" not in the homophobic sense, but in the "in your need to center romance in everything you are missing the whole point of the media in question" sense
Incredibly violent take of mine but I actually donât think you need to relate to a story in any way to enjoy it. You can enjoy a story even if you canât point at a character and insert some aspect of your personality or identity into them. In fact I would argue the need for a character like that to be present in every single story you experience is a sign of stunted growth.
btw i love when dubcon is used in fiction as a way to explore characters. i love when characters donât understand how to âproperlyâ ask for consent because they have never had their consent respected in their lives. i love when traumatized adult characters make potentially unwise choices about what to do with their bodies because they have the autonomy to do so. i love when characters make choices that i personally wouldnât make, but i can totally understand how they got there. i love when characters have complex, fucked up, unhealthy dynamics, but still care about each other and want to do better. i love when writers trust audience members to read between the lines instead of spoon feeding them moral lessons. i love when characters are allowed to actually fuck up and have mistakes to learn from!
