They wear suits, but they don't even know basic etiquette.
inspired by @cowardsexual 's post of a very sleepy phm science team and Grace's teacher instincts
"Love/sex is what makes us human" Wrong. It's the obsession with rectangles. look around you and count the number of rectangles you see.
#looked up and thought âthat canât be hardâ#and then my eyes widened with horror as I realized the sheer number of rectangles everywhere#Iâm . Iâm horrified
It's a good shape!
this is my favourite video rn btw
The name's not even a joke xD
"Bin", means "from", so he's just called "John from London" in arabic.

Talking to allo people who havenât really interrogated how society has told them to view sex feels like that bit in SpongeBob where Patrick keeps failing to put his hand on the lid
Sex is just a thing. No itâs just an activity. It doesnât have to be⊠no listen itâs just an activity. An activity. Itâs just a thing. A thing. No itâs not the same for everyone itâs just an activity. No itâs a value neutral activity. An activity. An activity.
Iâve been experiencing this lately with people trying to argue with me about my views on sex work.
âYou canât compare sex work to other types of work because having sex youâre not enthusiastic about is really traumatizingâ
Iâm sure for a lot of people thatâs true but for me sex and masturbation occupy a similar emotional space to brushing my teeth or doing the dishes and I certainly donât feel traumatized about it and I know for a fact that Iâm not the only person who feels this way.
Also I think that someone physically and violently forcing me to brush my teeth might end up being traumatizing.
Sex is so taboo and mythologized that people have forgotten the mechanics of it.
Yeah sex might be sacred and important to you. To me itâs a chore Iâve gotta do sometimes. Like cooking. I love cooking and put great importance on it and who I do it with. A lot of people just cook to live though.
Yeah if to you sex has a lot of emotions caught up in it Iâm not gonna tell you that youâre wrong for feeling that way. Thatâs normal. Itâs not a universal experience though. And if you canât accept that, then too bad. Other peopleâs personal realities donât exist to confirm your personal worldview.
I cannot emphasize enough how exactly accurate this is to working in production
âI just need to learn how to seem more normal and theyâll leave me alone,â she thought, lacking any ability to understand why the boys they said were her peers seemed to hate her from the moment they met her
Patriarchal society teaches boys to hate girls and believe it or not being a girl involuntarily sorted into boys spaces can very often mean being seen as an acceptable (and even deserving) target for that prejudice
âHello yes the boys you keep forcing me to be around keep attacking me on sight and the girls I find myself relating to and drifting towards have already learned that âboysâ are dangerous, which I donât disagree with, but as a result theyâre keeping their distance out of fear that Iâm the exact sort of predator Iâm trying to find refuge from, may I have some basic human kindness and connection, please?â
âThatâs extremely selfish of you have you considered that maybe you deserve to be abused?â
âI had not! Iâll just internalize that now since itâs the only consistent message that anyone is sendingâ
I literally cannot stress enough the constant societal forces that work 24/7 to make even an unrealized trans girl think that her existence is fundamentally wrong and she deserves to be punished for it
Before I knew it was about gender I still knew that there was something âdefectiveâ about me that justified the bullying and the harassment and the total lack of empathy from the people who billed themselves as figures of authority
did you know that you can increase the quality of your quesadilla by adding seasoning
did you know that you can decrease the quality of your quesadilla by making a tumblr post while it's cooking and burning it
Original post by @morallygrayautisticscientist here, this post was so funny I decided to draw it lol.
Panel by panel below:
I keep thinking about the fact that Eridians seem so much stronger and sturdier than humans, so what humans-are-space-orcs thing could Grace even do that would freak Rocky out... and then I remembered humans are persistence predators.
So picture some years in the future when the xenonite suits are so safe that Grace's class can now take field trips into his biodome. Rocky's there because this is a big moment for everyone involved and also he just loves listening to Grace in his element. One of the more mischievous kids tries to sneak off from the group and there are plenty of chaperones but Grace is the first to notice.
His posture changes, goes focused but loose in a way Rocky's never seen before as he peels of from the crowd. Rocky just stands there, stunned, as he watches his sweet, gangly, goofy, clumsy blob of a friend turn into a hunter. Grace circles around the pebble, slightly crouched, head turned and honed in, arms loose to the sides, and maybe the little one notices and does that nervously excited giggle-squeal thing kids do when they're being chased and tries to get away, but Grace expertly corrals them. He doesn't even have to run for it, he just pens the kid in, lunges-
And takes the little pebble by the claw to lead them safely back to their peers. And just like that he's Grace again, smiling and joking and tripping over his improvised shoelaces. Rocky hasn't been scared of Grace since first contact. Have you seen the guy? ... but for a second there his instincts were telling him to run.
I just saw a video title on YouTube that said something like âWhy is glass transparent?â And thatâs an interesting question and Iâm sure itâs great that the video exists but my first thought was like âBecause glass is terrible, obviously.â Because itâs unwieldy and letâs out warmth and needs to be heated to hundreds of degrees to be shaped and turns into hundreds of tiny daggers if you drop it. Why the hell would we bother with that if it didnât have some magical quality like being totally transparent despite being solid? Glass is transparent because if it werenât, weâd use something else.
looking through my âmeâ tag and this is apparently what I was thinking 3 years ago
If youâre still curious we did not start working glass for its transparency. It was most likely started as a sanitary concern. Glass is easy to clean with soap and water, once itâs cleaned out you can use it again for anything and no germs or flavor from the previous meal or drink will remain.
Other materials at the time, namely clay, would absorb flavors and germs meaning that if you ate beef off a clay plate your next meal with that plate could have beef flavor and microbes common on cow meat on it. That would leak out seemingly at random no less. Heck imagine a sick person coughing into their soup bowl and then months later their germs hiding in the clay would pop out to infect whole new people.
Also the earliest human use of glass we know of is for its sharpness. Pre-historic people would use volcanic glass as sharp knives for food preparation. Also beads. Pretty much any new substance humans get their hands on for most of our history we immediately try to make into beads.
The fact that it could become see through was a side benefit.
this is amazing and Iâm really glad I reblogged that old bullshit post because I got to learn this
People will write a five page "summary" of their novel that tells me nothing about the plot other than that it has totally gay Y2K T4T Southern gothic transmasc cottagecore enemies to lovers buzzword vibes only for the actual contents of the book to be less diverse and inclusive and compelling than the line, "All of my friends were jealous, except my blind friends," from hit Neil Cicierega song "Really Cool Wig".
"one piece only starts getting good around-" shut up!!! monkey d. luffy is right there in episode one!!
