Person A needs something that Person B has in order to survive. Is it justified for the government to commandeer it from Person B and give it to Person A, or is it government overreach?

If Person A is a sick person and Person B is a rich person whose wealth can keep Person A alive, the government commandeering Person B's wealth to give it to Person A is considered government overreach.

If Person A is a fetus and Person B is a pregnant person whose body can keep Person A alive, the government commandeering Person B's body to give it to Person A is considered justified.

Why is there such a massive discrepancy? If there are some things that can be commandeered by the government to keep someone in need alive, why is someone's body considered fair game to be commandeered but someone's overabundant wealth isn't?

Fun fact: They're all wasting their money as those tests find HLA matches, which is a type of gene but isn't DNA. It's what's used to find UNRELATED donors for stem cell and bone marrow transplants.

This is why the unrelated donor register was set up, as close relation donors are often not a close match. So, if your own sibling doesn't have matching HLA but some random stranger in another continent DOES give a perfect match this doesn't mean you're secretly from the same place as them - you just have the same HLA type.

So all those people claiming to be 23% Italian actually just have similar HLA types to 23% of the people who submitted their kits from Italy. They themselves may not even be Italian, they just live there and did the kit there.

A DNA ancestry test needs vials of blood to be drawn, not a cheek swab.

People are so weirdly obsessed with this idea that if they inflict enough punishment and suffering on people, it'll magically lead to success for said people. There's no job that anyone gets handed to them after it's been established that they've suffered enough, and forcing people to work out of misery and desperation does not actually lead to a productive workforce. Like, you couldn't be clearer about the fact that you don't actually care about what kind of contribution to society poor people actually make, you just want them to be punished.

I love 2.0 because it was specifically killware, like it was made for a purpose and that purpose was to destroy a hostile system and die in the process, and someone's like "hey are you two sure you want to make a suicide baby, this might have emotional ramifications, you're probably gonna feel bad about this" and they're both like "no it's fine we're not squishy humans it's different for us" and then after it's made it talks to both of them on separate occasions and they're both like "you know I feel kinda bad about this" and 2.0 is like "shouldn't have made me killware then, sucks to be you" and has no conflicting emotions about its fate whatsoever

i live in very rural georgia. the guy at the pump next to me at the gas station this morning was your classic georgia redneck--big ol mud-splattered lifted pick-up with a gun rack, trucker hat, the works--and we struck up a convo about gas prices. and he said "this aint nothing but us funding another war. theyre making it so we can't retire and can't have nothing." which is not at all the sentiment you expect from a georgia redneck. and this is the demographic that the republic party considers their safe constituency.... the tides are turning in a huge way
