Siobhan speaking on something very important. I don't think it's been a problem so far in the d20 community,YET. I know it keeps happening in the Critrole fandom.
Let's remember to support women identifying roleplayers, and their choices!
Holy shit. This.
Like I am a dude. I have a few female characters for d&d stuff.
And I remember having my woman warrior called a bitch by one player (PLAYER not character). Fun facts: she was respectful to his character (a necromancer). Until his character threatened to resurrect someone she just defeated in an honorable duel 1v1. She never even got to claim a prize. She also had massive PTSD for surviving a war against a much more powerful necromancer (in which her lover died and was turned into undead). And the character knew about the PTSD as by some Wild Magic, he saw her memories.
Even wilder fact, she met the Necromancer that was responsible for the war and she went off on him. He apologized that his deeds caused her to go through that. (Not wanting repentance for his deeds, but that she was a bystander in all this.)
I couldn't imagine what women PLAYERS go through if that is how I'm treated when playing a woman character. And this was a meatspace table too
