On the Nasa livestream of the Artemis mission, one of the astronauts just pointed out that they can see the moon out one window and the earth out another and the scale difference is crazy. Mission control replied: "Amaze, amaze, amaze."

dan and phil reveal the truth (but like actually this time)
the older i get the more i start hating that "traumadumping" is seen as a toxic behaviour when its actually a blatant sign that that person is struggling.
like idk about you but if my friend or aquaintance starts textwalling me on discord about their family abusing them as a child or something, my first thought isnt "ugh this is so inconsiderate of them. toxic" its "oh no i think my friend is having emotional flashbacks :(" regardless of if i have the energy to engage with them about it at the time.
this isnt even getting into how minorities are often treated as though theyre "traumadumping" just for talking about their lived experiences in a deeply bigoted society. specifically thinking of disabled people at the moment but i feel its also applicable to most other oppressed groups.
When someone tells me I look tired I don't get offended I'm like thank you for noticing my anguish
#myanguish
A lot of people genuinely believe that permanent disability isn't a thing that happens to good people who work hard and make responsible choices. A lot of people genuinely think that we get the life we work for and deserve. And this is definitely part of the explanation for why ableism is so prevalent
be careful going for walks this september. the air might smell like recess in second grade and you might get sick to your stomach with melancholia
Shout-out to unhealthy disabled people
Disabled people who smoke and drink and do drugs
It's not talked about a lot but while these things can make things worse a lot of the time they're the only avenue a lot of us have for short term relief, mental or physical. I'm scared of what will happen to my pain when I quit smoking cigarettes, because I've tried it before and my pain was so bad I was literally hallucinating.
Able bodied people do these things all the time with little flack from the world at large and disabled adults get to make our own choices about our health no matter the consequences. And a lot of the time they help more short term than anyone can know unless they've lived it.
