expanding on how moulin rouge (2001) is one of my favourite movies of all time ever. the soundtrack. the slightly bizarre yet absolutely spectacular camera work. the use of colour symbolism. the gorgeous, vibrant costuming. the CHOREOGRAPHY. the incredible use of physical theatre to show emotion. the stellar performances of both ewan mgcregor and Nicole kidman. told by a grieving man mourning the loss of his lover. its a tragedy but it isnt. it's about grief. it's about love. it's about jealousy. it's bohemian!!

Believe it or not, the movie Men In Black changed my life. I saw it in the theater when it first came out, and this prompted a series of, let’s say choices that led to my 1) discovering slash fanfic, 2) discovering my all-time favorite band, 3) writing slash fanfic for the first time (about my favorite band), and from there 4) joining several online fandom communities, being invited to cons, making all sorts of friends, traveling to all sorts of places, and getting a book deal. Basically, watching this movie determined the trajectory of my entire adult life. So here is my humble tribute to Jay and (ahem, especially) Kay.
