HAVE FUN!
oh man, so excited to read these when its way too late at night!
For the record:
So uhâŠ.some dude apparently recreated Adobe Photoshop feature-for-feature, for FREE, and it runs in your browser.
Anyway, fuck Adobe, and enjoy!
Give credit to the 30-year-old who worked on this for free and offers this service for free!
WHAT?!
I study graphic design and my tutor recommended and used this in his classes at art college last year, itâs so good it has SO many features for free, I really recommend it, even if youâre just trying to learn the basics of PS, such a wonderful thing <3
the "came back wrong" trope except like... they didnt. like this mad scientists wife died, and so he studied necromancy, brought her back, and she came back and it all worked. like she came back exactly the same as she was before with literally no difference. but the scientist guy is like "oh no... what have i done.... shes Different now!!!! she came back Wrong!!!!" and shes just like. chilling. reading a book. cooking dinner. shes just so so normal but in the guys mind hes like "oh shes soooo weird" but shes just normal
Peer reviewed tags from @somanyofthekids
NO its a JOKE and YOU DONT GET IT. ITS NOT THAT DEEP
While she was dead he put his memory of her on such a high pedestal that she could never live up to it alive
alternativelyâ she came back perfectly fine but he thinks she came back wrongâ because the tragic reality is that he never actually knew his wife
im going INSANE thats MY POST.
It's your post but the journey to posting it changed it to such a degree that even its closest intimacies are now foreign to you. Sorry dude.
I feel like videogames don't take enough advantage of the idea of multiple currencies.
It's a standard fantasy/sci fi trope that everyone uses the same currency, but I feel like the complications that multiple currencies create would fit perfectly into the design of a videogame.
Think of an RPG, but instead of high-level end-game armour being locked behind a level requirement, or the shopkeepers having leveled lists of loot, it's just sitting in the armour store in the end-game hub town.
But that store only accepts the local currency, and the local quests that reward that currency are designed for much higher level characters, and the exchange rate for your starter town currency is terrible.
That'd be an easy way to enforced intended progression without actually locking you out of anything. You could grind out enough starter currency to convert to end-game currency to buy the end-game gear, if you wanted to... but mid-game currency has a less harsh exchange rate.
Merchants who trade between locations would accept and pay out with multiple currencies, because they would use multiple currencies themselves in buying and selling their wares.
Hell, you could even have it so that while there's a set exchange rate, there's also locations that have better or worse rates depending on how desperate they think you are, or how desperate they themselves are for that currency. After all, the worst place to change your money is the airport.
Meanwhile, have a quest where you rescue a trader in the wilderness, and they offer to buy one of your currencies at a better rate because they've got a big purchase to make with it, but lost most of their supply in whatever incident you saved them from.
The closest I've personally seen to a videogame having multiple currencies is Fallout: New Vegas, which technically has three: NCR Dollars, Legion Denarii, and Bottlecaps. But all trades are done in Bottlecap value and every vendor accepts all three. Dollars and Denarii are just loot items that sell for a set value, regardless of your Barter skill.
I dunno, I just think it could offer some unique problems and unique solutions.
magic system where âdark magicâ and âlight magicâ are literal terms - dark magic consumes photons, making an area around the spell visibly darker, sometimes to an Extreme extent, and light magic releases photons.
because of this most dark mages tend to work in very brightly-lit areas (either artificial light or outside in the daytime) to fuel their spells and wear and use lightly coloured clothes and tools so that theyâre easier to see in the dimness their spells create, whereas light mages wear heavy, sometimes leaden robes (depending on the work being done) and the magical equivalent of welding masks to protect themselves from what can be an extreme amount of light, and sometimes other kinds of electromagnet radiation!
needless to say this is incredibly confusing for anyone unfamiliar with the culture
i found the weirdest yt channel like its not even really weird but im just???
but anyway some girl has spend years animating a show with her furry ocs set in a western universe with hints of?? native american and aztec mythology as well as like bits of others but not really cause theres a rabbit who wears a fuckin sailor outfit and i cant follow the plot at all and theres a crane called ichabod bc subtleÂ
its fucking me up bc theres so much effort in it but its so haphazardÂ
i actually love this
Okay, but for this to be animated by one person is fucking AMAZINGÂ because we have indie animated projects started and shattered by full teams that donât even have this much flow.
Youtube is weird because sometimes you find amazing art projects buried in itâs annuals that defy explanation due to their quality and the fact they never went viral.
To watch
iâve been binging this and iâm on episode 24 and really i find the story pretty interesting and not really that difficult to follow??? my only concern is how all the human children except for like Charles inexplicably look like full-grown adults instead of like actual children
Iâve been a fan of No Evil for a little over a year, and I really canât recommend it enough! Episodes 1-9 are mostly just animation tests and shorts to get an idea of the characters (though episode 2 and 7 are important to understand the backstory and episode 8 and 9 set up two major conflicts throughout the rest of the series).
Thereâs a lot of exposition in episode 10 which can be hard to follow on a first watch but is really rewarding when you go back to re-watch everything. Also, the animation is freakin gorgeous now and then, just
SHAPESHIFTING
MAGIC
BEAUTIFUL CHARACTERS
FULLY ANIMATED ASL
PERFECT REACTION GIFS
Also they arrange and record a lot of the music in the show all on their own which is frankly amazing https://youtu.be/L6SZgUVTb4Q
No Evil is so good, you really get lost in the magic of the world and are soon invested in the characters. The designs are so cool and the songs are choice.
If you want help getting into the show on YouTube (because the first few episodes are kinda vague and arent explained till later) you can read the comic that takes places before the show
I highly recommend this one, these people put together an amazing story animating at home and recording in their closets and it deserves as much love in response as was put into its creation
Love how tumblr has its own folk stories. Yeah the God of Arepo weâve all heard the story and we all still cry about it. Yeah that one about the woman locked up for centuries finally getting free. Someone has probably already asked you this but do you have any tips on studying/understanding perspective? I keep trying to find resources to learn but none of them really stick or are actually useful
so I'm hoping that your issue isn't just figuring out the difference between 1-point, 2-point, and 3-point perspective and how it works, because there are tons and tons of resources available for that, and I'm guessing what people tend to get tripped up on is what you're supposed to be doing with your grid.
I'm definitely far from being an expert on understanding perspective, but I'll share some of the things that helped ME finally Get It.
Things like eye level and different camera angles can be a GREAT tool to use when doing a comic or storyboard between multiple characters of different heights!! I actually drew an example of this exact thing for a friend about a month ago (I used adventure time characters bc they're easy to draw and have a good height variety):
You can use camera angles like this to add variety to your shots, and even use it to help convey something emotional (using a down-shot on a character to show that they FEEL small, use an up-shot on a character to make them look more intimidating, etc etc)
hope this helps!
